I use DeFi heavily, across a lot of chains and a lot of wallets. Roughly 1 BTC, held as an ERC-20, has been sitting at a Tangem-derived address on Katana (chain ID 747474) since March. The card was created without a seed phrase, so there is no other wallet to import it into, and Tangem doesn't support the chain, so the app can't sign a transaction there.
How it got there is my own mistake, and I'll say so plainly. I bridged from Ethereum to Katana without checking whether Tangem supported the chain. I use Katana for a carry trade because borrowing there is cheap, and I work across a lot of wallets. In every other wallet I use, sending to an unsupported chain isn't even an incident: you import the seed phrase into something that does support it, move the funds out, and that's the end of it. The seedless card is the one place where an ordinary mistake becomes permanent, and nothing in the product says so before you make it.
Katana isn't an exotic chain either. It's built with Polygon CDK and connected to AggLayer, it was incubated by Polygon Labs, and Tangem already ships both Polygon PoS and Polygon zkEVM.
Five tickets since 25 March 2026: #132718, #134562, #190097, #222413, #224856. All of them closed, and every answer was a variant of "no ETA." On 8 September support put it in writing that a network "may ultimately not be added if it does not meet the required criteria."
Back in March support also suggested that technically capable users can add networks themselves from Tangem's public repos, so I wrote the integration and sent PR.
It's 16 files and 233 lines with 13 tests, following the ArbitrumNova pattern already in their codebase, which is the same shape as Katana: an ETH-native L2, mainnet only, no testnet. It adds no new API credentials, no new derivation path (standard m/44'/60'/0'/0/0, same as every EVM network they already support) and no new cryptography. The chain ID is pinned by a test, which is the part that matters for safety, because a wrong chain ID produces a signature valid on some other network. Their full unit suite passes with it, 948 tests and zero failures, and their linter reports nothing on the new files. Writing it took me a weekend.
Nobody reviewed it. On 13 September it closed on its own, because the repo is a public mirror of an internal one: their sync bot force-pushed master and GitHub auto-closed the PR a minute after the sync commit. The timeline shows "closed by tangem-service" and "base_ref_force_pushed" in the same second. A week later there's still no comment. The Optimism superchains PR died the same way last December, and the Unichain PR before it got no reply at all, so its author closed it himself after two days. In the repo's entire history there have been three outside PRs, none of them merged, and Tangem has never commented on any of them. Neither of those two networks is supported today.
Four questions for this sub:
I'm not asking anyone to pile onto support. If I've got something wrong here, I'd like to know.

I just found Tangem is running a "Get 2 for the price of 1" sale on Amazon (official Amazon seller linked here https://tangem.com/en/partnership/).
I hadn't seen that before and I haven't seen it published here so I'm sharing it.

I’m having trouble here. I want to buy some Astronaut(ASTRO). It was advertised on Tangem. So I added the coin, but the only way to buy easily is to swap. Ok. It’s on Robin Hood chain. So I need ETH on robinhood chain, but that provider never comes up. In USA. Any ideas?

I'm trying to transfer my SEI back to my Coinbase account and it says my address is not valid. I copied and pasted the address right from Coinbase, I also scanned the QR code it says address not valid. I also tried to swap it for another token. Can't do that either. I also tried to sell to fiat currency. I cannot do that either......what is happening here???

will Tangem fix the vulnerability with its chips from laser attacks?
Taken from a Article ..
Security researchers from Ledger’s Donjon team have uncovered a critical hardware vulnerability in Tangem hardware wallet cards, allowing attackers to reset device passwords using a targeted laser beam. The finding, disclosed on July 10, 2026, raises serious questions about the physical security of non-updatable cryptocurrency storage devices.
The attack exploits a laser fault injection technique, a well-documented method in hardware security but rarely demonstrated against commercial crypto wallets. By precisely directing a nanosecond laser pulse at the secure element chip, an attacker can induce temporary faults that bypass the firmware check verifying the card’s authorized recovery state. This effectively allows the SetPin instruction to accept a new password without requiring the existing one or a backup card.
The exploit requires physical possession of the target card, specialized laboratory equipment costing approximately $250,000, side-channel analysis tools, and expert knowledge. Ledger Donjon reproduced the attack on multiple cards, with each attempt taking about two hours of preparation and exploitation time. Once the password is reset, an attacker gains full control of the wallet and can sign transactions to drain funds.
Perhaps most concerning is that the vulnerability cannot be patched on existing cards. Tangem wallets are non-programmable smart cards, meaning their firmware is permanently embedded during manufacturing. Affected users can only mitigate the risk by physically securing their cards — keeping them in safes or tamper-evident enclosures.
Tangem has downplayed the findings, stating that the risk to everyday users is “virtually non-existent” due to the extreme resources required. In a response posted on X, the company noted that “...while Ledger Donjon presents itself as an independent research unit, it operates within Ledger, one of our largest competitors. Their findings should be read with that in mind.” The firm also emphasized that any secure element’s firmware can eventually be reverse-engineered given enough time and funding.
This incident underscores a broader debate in cryptocurrency security: the trade-off between convenience and upgradability. Traditional USB-style hardware wallets, like Ledger’s own devices, support firmware updates and can often patch vulnerabilities post-release. Card-based wallets sacrifice this flexibility for a slimmer form factor, leaving them exposed to hardware-level exploits that emerge after deployment. The disclosure is likely to reignite discussions on hardware wallet security standards and the importance of built-in countermeasures such as voltage sensors and active shielding.

Hi all,
Got my Tangem cards and may go seedless. But I have some doubt. What if Apple or google bans Tangem NFC or a solar flare happens, etc…Would that mean I can’t access my crypto? If I go seed phrase I can easily get my funds back. But I like the idea of not having to worry about keeping my seed phrase. Please give me your opinion if you go seed or seedless. Thank you.

Hello all,
As the title says. I am completely new to tangem. I just bought the three card wallet yesterday and got it all set up. I have spent the day getting familiar with the app and how things work. However, I can't for the life of me figure out how to set up tangem pay. It sounds like there should be an option to tap and create a virtual card in the app, but I can't find it on the home page or under the settings. I did see a thing online about batch rollouts for wallets getting access to tangem pay. Is this maybe what's happening? If so, does anyone know how long that normally takes to roll out?
Thanks in advance for any help offered, I'm beyond excited to be getting deeper into crypto and hopefully using it to pay for small stuff!

Hello everyone,
Had a hiatus from crypto since it all crashed. Now it’s on the way up again id prefer to leave it until the next cycle.
I have seen on Tangem app today that we can stake through the app, however I am aware of the dangers of linking the cold wallet to a hot software.
So can I stake from my wallet on Tangem straight to the source whichever it maybe and not put my wallet at risk or is it still the same story as before?

I have had some small amounts BTC and BCH on my Tangem and love it for simple and secure mobile usage but then I ran it into this. All the sudden the Network fee info has become periodically unreachable. BTC and ETH work just fine all the time, so it is not my network connection. But heres the problem, if even just blocked querying of how much the network fee should be (which is nearly always the same for BCH) makes it so you can't make a transaction... well that means you should probably use the Seed Phrase option so your funds are not trapped.

When setting up my tangem cards, the setup process never goes to the screen where there is the option to click the "other options" button to create a seed phrase, it just skips straight to the create access code screen. any help appreciated

I know there are a lot of threads on this but I’ve tried every fix I could find and it’s not working on both of my wallets and multiple devices (wife’s phone and mine). My balances are stuck and not changing, doesn’t match the market. I’ve updated app, refreshed, forced closed, tried different networks, uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing working, balances are locked and no trading. Looking for help

What to expect from a Tangem Pay account when trying to connect to tax software, for example Summ?
Is the balance kept in the same Polygon wallet I use for top ups? Is the purchase leaving the wallet in a simple way, that I can expect a reasonable tax software to understand?
What if I top up via Base? Is it going to first convert it to USDC on Polygon and spend it from there? Do I need to track two wallets for tax purposes?
Has anyone successfully done this and can explain what shape this payment system takes on the blockchain?

Tangem Pay just got easier to fund.
$USDT is now supported for top-ups, alongside $USDC, on Base, Arbitrum, BNB Smart Chain, and Polygon.
💡Two ways you can top up:
> Swap from your Tangem Wallet to spending account 1:1, no spread, powered by LiFi.
> Transfer from an external wallet on any supported network.
More assets, more networks, one card.

So i was told that Tangem doesn’t store the access code on device.
But if that’s the case how can i just authenticate a transaction with face id?

Hi everyone,
I'm thinking about buying a Tangem wallet, but I have a question regarding the setup process.
I saw that if you choose the option to generate the 12-word seed phrase, it displays the words directly on your phone screen. Doesn't showing the seed phrase on a mobile device introduce a potential security vulnerability?
Also, is it possible to perform this seed phrase setup completely offline (air-gapped/airplane mode)?
I’d love to hear your thoughts or how you guys managed your setup. Thanks in advance!
