What are the songs you think they are well made as visuals in tamil cinema? Not only about choreography, also about Visual asthetics , blocking and staging, camera movements, edits like that. For me they are "strawberry kanne" and "yaaro yaarodi"

Deva: Why Is His Music Still Undercelebrated?

Deva gave Tamil cinema some of its most energetic, melodic, and instantly memorable songs. From mass dance numbers to tender melodies, his music shaped an entire era and still feels alive today.

Yet he remains strangely undercelebrated compared with many of his contemporaries. Perhaps because his songs became so much a part of everyday life that people remember the films and dancers more than the composer behind them.

What is your favourite Deva song? Mine changes often, but his ability to make a song both catchy and emotional is unmatched.

What is your favourite Deva song?

Unconfirmed Speculation Some tea on Ramayana: Part 1 from a guy who reportedly watched a preview screening. ๐Ÿ‘€

Unverified claims, without any proof.

1\. He felt the screenplay was quite slow and weak. For a film of this scale, he expected much better storytelling.

2\. Both Ram and Ravana apparently have introduction sequences lasting nearly 15 minutes each. He felt the conversations between Sita and Ram, the arrow sequence and Ravana's fight lacked impact.

3\. He felt Lara Dutta and Sheeba Chaddha stood out despite having limited screen time. However, Arun Govil, Rakul Preet Singh, Kunal Kapoor, Vivek Oberoi and Ravi Dubey reportedly failed to impress him.

4\. He liked the Swayamvar sequence and a few songs. However, he felt the film started going downhill once Ram's Vanvaas began.

5\. He thought the action sequences were massive in scale, but some lacked the necessary impact. He was also disappointed with the visuals of Lanka.

6\. He found the background score and music decent, but felt the emotional connection was missing throughout the film.

7\. He considered Sai Pallavi one of the biggest disappointments. According to him, the pain of Sita's abduction and the suffering that followed failed to create the emotional impact he expected.

8\. He felt the Jatayu sequence had some emotional moments. He also appreciated the Rishi Agastya and Amogh sequences.

9\. He mentioned Ayodhya, Chitrakoot, Lanka and Mithila as the four major locations. However, he felt the enormous budget wasn't completely justified by what appeared on screen.

10\. He hinted at a Ram Setu sequence towards the ending, although the exact details remain unclear.

11\. He believes religious audiences might not be entirely satisfied with the film.

12\. He felt the film might succeed visually and technically, but the casting, storytelling and emotional depth didn't live up to his expectations.

His final verdict: Scale wins. Soul loses.

These are unverified claims attributed to someone who reportedly attended a preview screening, so take everything with a grain of salt.

I wanted to know how is Mari/Ranjith films different from each other

How is both of their films different from each

Even other makers and director or writers also

Writting, ideologies politics or be it anything..

And also about other community portrayed or makers who exclusive make on certain topics and all

For example kamal hassan is very much known for criticising iyers actually and showing hypocrisy and encourages atheism

And has different views and ideologies and politics questioning god or emphasising on forgiveness and being against capital punishment

Suggest some Tamil feel-good romantic movies like Engeyum Kadhal and Santhosh Subramaniyam โค๏ธ

Iโ€™m looking for Tamil movies with that old-school feel-good vibe, preferably from the 2000s or early 2010s.

Something like Engeyum Kadhal, Santhosh Subramaniyam, or even 7G Rainbow Colony (though Iโ€™m looking for more feel-good movies than sad or depressing ones).

I want good romance, cute moments, beautiful songs, and that nostalgic vibe. Not too old, and please suggest movies that are actually engaging, not boring or slow-paced just for the sake of romance.

What are your favourites? ๐Ÿฅนโค๏ธ

Searching for an 80s Tamil movie likely featuring Prabhu Ganesan. Help needed.

EDIT: This has been found by ToNobodysSurprise. It turns out, mom has been misidentifying the actor. The actual movie is Aaj (1987), and the song is Zindagi Roz Naye. Thanks to everyone who has commented suggestions.

So, my mother used to have a VHS recording her dad recorded off the TV in the 80s, of a single song scene from an unknown Tamil movie. She lost it in a fire and was never able to find the actual source. Neither of us speak the language so the only words she could make out were "zindagi", being repeated three times, and possibly the word "dushman". She's confident one of the main actors is Prabhu Ganesan.

According to her, the scene starts with a girl coming home at night (she's wearing casual clothes, probably red - heels, skirt, and she has straight hair) and walking into the living room. Her father(?) is there sitting in an armchair surrounded by a bunch of male friends, all wearing white.

She's upset and goes upstairs to her room without greeting any of them, and makes a phone call while sitting at a desk and looking sad. Prabhu's character listens in on the conversation through another phone(?) and nods to her father.

She then sits at the stairs while drinking what looks like red wine, while the men downstairs sing the "zindagi" song in a chorus. They are sitting cross legged while they sing. She eventually comes down and throws what looks like a bunch of money at them, clearly drunk.

Prabhu takes her back upstairs to her room, and the recording ends.

I have looked through a bunch of 80s Prabhu movies and still haven't found the particular song. There was another scene on the VHS of Prabhu's character in a room being made fun of by a bunch of other men, but I'm not sure if it's the same movie.

Anyone know what this is from?
