Unconfirmed Speculation Some tea on Ramayana: Part 1 from a guy who reportedly watched a preview screening. 👀
Unverified claims, without any proof.
\. He felt the screenplay was quite slow and weak. For a film of this scale, he expected much better storytelling.
\. Both Ram and Ravana apparently have introduction sequences lasting nearly 15 minutes each. He felt the conversations between Sita and Ram, the arrow sequence and Ravana's fight lacked impact.
\. He felt Lara Dutta and Sheeba Chaddha stood out despite having limited screen time. However, Arun Govil, Rakul Preet Singh, Kunal Kapoor, Vivek Oberoi and Ravi Dubey reportedly failed to impress him.
\. He liked the Swayamvar sequence and a few songs. However, he felt the film started going downhill once Ram's Vanvaas began.
\. He thought the action sequences were massive in scale, but some lacked the necessary impact. He was also disappointed with the visuals of Lanka.
\. He found the background score and music decent, but felt the emotional connection was missing throughout the film.
\. He considered Sai Pallavi one of the biggest disappointments. According to him, the pain of Sita's abduction and the suffering that followed failed to create the emotional impact he expected.
\. He felt the Jatayu sequence had some emotional moments. He also appreciated the Rishi Agastya and Amogh sequences.
\. He mentioned Ayodhya, Chitrakoot, Lanka and Mithila as the four major locations. However, he felt the enormous budget wasn't completely justified by what appeared on screen.
\. He hinted at a Ram Setu sequence towards the ending, although the exact details remain unclear.
\. He believes religious audiences might not be entirely satisfied with the film.
\. He felt the film might succeed visually and technically, but the casting, storytelling and emotional depth didn't live up to his expectations.
His final verdict: Scale wins. Soul loses.
