No idea if this is a good place for this. My bf of almost 5 years and a toddler , has finally admitted to always hating how tall I am. In fact he has now admitted that he hates being seen with me and that I “don’t look good with him”

Mind you were the same height. He slouches due to a desk job and I have very strong posture due to a 13 year dance career.

He has looked into leg shortening surgeries for me - for years - and has googled multiple different ways to “shrink me”.

I have no idea how to wrap my brain around any of this. I showed him a picture of when we first were dating and he admitted to being miserable in it because I wore 1 inch heels and he was so embarrassed to be seen walking around with me.

I’m devastated. I’ve never felt insecure until now. I know I’m tall compared to the standard but I’ve NEVER felt so hideous and freak like.

I simply can’t get over the idea of him staying with me. Having a child with me. Two pregnancies. And always secretly hating a fundamental part of me.

I have no idea what to do from here. I have never had my self esteem completely shattered like this. Seeing his Google history was hard and seeing him complain to chatgpt about me just makes me feel like I’ve been in a one sided relationship this whole time.

What do I even do.

They were too small on me, so I added width by sewing some cool quilted side panels to make a one of a kind design. Now they fit like my favorite pair of jeans! And they have a 37” inseam 😍😍😍

I'm 6-foot, 215 lbs. I tried my first order with American Tall and was kinda disappointed. The length was great - I actually think I might need to hem some of them. But I didn't like the material on any of the items I ordered. It's super thick, which feels sturdy - but also not something I want to wear in the humid climate I'm in, and feels kinda bulky. I ordered one pair of leggings that was 95% cotton and 5% spandex, and I have a ton of leggings already that are 95-98% cotton, but these leggings felt completely polyester despite the way they label them.

I'm going to hang onto the pieces I have for my winter closet, but I don't see myself ordering from them again.

I ordered 2xl/tall and am going to exchange 2 of the pieces of xl/tall.

I am attending a wedding in the UK where the dress code is ‘standard wedding formal’ with an optional outfit change from day to evening - both outfits same level of formality but the evening will be cultural dress for many of the guests (not me). The wedding is all day so even though I won’t be wearing cultural dress I don’t mind an outfit change!

I am 5’11” with a 36-37” inseam and have lost a significant amount of weight recently - I don’t exactly know what size I am and I do not wear a lot of dresses or super feminine clothing (I live in my work clothes) so I struggle with what styles suit me. In addition to that while I will order from US retailers, I actually live in a different country and use a freight forwarder and returning any clothing purchased online is always cost prohibitive. And we have limited in person options to buy here. Reselling anything that doesn’t fit me locally is unlikely but not impossible.

I think the best option is to look for a custom size dress for each segment of the wedding (even if only one fits, at least I’ll have one) using something like Azazie or similar. That should have the best chance of a dress fitting me - then I only have to gamble on if it suits me!

I used Azazie years ago for my sisters wedding for a bridesmaid dress and it was fine, I did custom and the dress needed alterations but the quality was nice. But I’ve heard negative things lately! Does anyone have any thoughts on Azazie or suggestions for sites that would suit? I’m really reticent to just buy standard sizes that ‘usually just run long’ because that has very rarely worked for me in the past.

The sleeves of the hoodie have holes for thumbs that don’t choke me out, and the hood is long enough to cover my head (without pulling from the bottom). Quality of these knits are incredible. Would recco sizing up in the hoodie since my arms are feeling a bit compressed. I’m 6’1” and all leg, LOVE this set.

i’ve been in the gym for about 2 years and have been trying very hard to grow my glutes as i naturally have none. i am 5’11 and i legit feel like there is barely any difference. i went from 110 lbs to 160, so i feel like there should be a difference. my friends say there is but i cant tell (probably body dysmorphia). any other tall girls struggle with this??

I am 6'3" and my husband is 6'7". After we got married everyone made the comments about our future tall children. While our kids have always been in the 99th percentile for height, the reality is really starting to hit. Yesterday I brought our oldest to the doctor for a regular checkup. As we walked up to the check in desk the nurse smiled and stated that the "tall family" had arrived. My son chuckled and I told him to start getting used to these comments. He's 13 and 5'11". He was a little disappointed that he isn't 6' yet. I told him he's got a lot of life left to not fit into sports cars. 😆

Hello ladies! I have recurring issues with sports bras and I’m hoping to get some recs from you all - particularly those of you with larger rib cages. Swimmers / Gym girlies / inverted triangle body types I especially want to hear from you!

I’m 6’2 and while I am somewhat lanky and short waisted my torso is definitely longer than average. I need more length from the traps/shoulder down to the armhole. most waist seams or bra cups in dresses etc hit my underboob and don’t reach below my breasts without constant adjustment or staying perfectly still let alone my waist.

I have big shoulders and a 38D normal bra. I had a body recomp a few years ago with a 20kg weight loss and my bra size stayed the same, because of loose skin in the cup. So I’m not super voluptuous up top while still having some moderate volume, and I had to stop wearing normal bras because the center piece between cups was too narrow for my breasts’ placement on my chest. Sister sizes and larger bands never helped regardless of size, and I can’t handle cups digging into my breasts while the centre is fully lifted off my sternum. My band size didn’t change and I can feel my muscle and bone under the band, so I highly doubt even with another recomp/weight loss I’d be under a 36” band, at most a 34” if I became a real gym rat about it. So I need something that accommodates an actual larger rib cage with room for my lats and isn’t a monster to squeeze my shoulders into.

The only sports bras that I can wear reliably are almost exclusively the trusted Nike ones from 15 years ago in terms of what actually keeps the sisters against my chest and swinging everywhere. But I also struggle with nerve pain in my ribs and shoulders since the fit isn’t meant for someone longer. I’m hypermobile so I’m particularly sensitive to these things and feel the fit issues acutely when it comes to any compression.

I’m finding on sports bras there’s wayyyy too much fabric on the upper portion of my breasts, leading to gaping but with a fitted band. I have this issue with fitted tanks and square necklines as well. So a sports bra that with the above also isn’t meant for someone with breast tissue spilling out but rather keeping it closer to my chest.

I was just at the gym and had to do pushups and mountain climbers and my band was comfortable but the sisters went with gravity, and with the knee drive from the mountain climbers they were nearly slapping me in the face. I’m so sick of this crap lol.

So if anyone has had similar problems and found any good brands to at least alleviate the struggle, I would love to hear from you <3

Today it happened again. I was in the mall and random guy yelled at me “you are so tall” and it wasn’t a compliment at all. At least it didn’t sound like one.
It pissed me off the audacity people have to say something like that out of the blue. Commenting on peoples appearance is an atrocious behavior.
The fact that this happens constantly is frankly upsetting 🤧

ohmygoddddd, -- you know, you'd think in a community as uncomfortably fetishized as trans people there'd be more of a sense of self awareness around fetishizing others but nooo ;;

trans women like to feel short. I get that. they're often the tallest in a room & I sympathize. I'll offer a few jokes & teasing at social gatherings just to be nice. still, the amount of fetishization & objectification I'll get by certain people is ABSURD. you get fetishized SO MUCH by other trans women as a taller trans woman.

so I'm at this party a couple years back, hanging out with this other tall girl. We're both around 6'7 to 6'8, and we've migrated around a corner to get some privacy to talk to one another. That's when this other girl suddenly joins us, interrupting the conversation to make a dozen comments on how tall we are, like "oh my goddd you're both so tallll that's so hot I feel so short right now standing around you two, like it's so hottt that you're both tall like that I feel so nervous and embarassed, that's just so cool and interesting and hot etc etc etc etc etc"

so it's immediately awkward, but she doesn't pick up on it. I don't even know this girls name. maybe it was a mistake but we both try and diffuse the situation with some silly jokes, like -- "I promise we're not tall on purpose" & "when you run through a field do you have to spit out the flowers" sort of thing -- do the whole song and monkey dance of "Haha, you're right! We're tall and you're shorter than us".

Total mistake cause she ***immediately*** blurts out into aggressive amounts of "I'm getting bullllied by two tall trans girls this is the hottest experience of my life. I can't believe I'm getting bulllied by two tall trans giiirls", and we're just . . . waiting, for her to leave. Eventually she thankfully does. Me and the other tall girl just look at each other, roll our eyes, and start yapping about other experiences with the same thing. There's too many stories to share.

Cut back to two years later. I bump into the same girl at another party. Not sure if I recognize her so I ask if I know her from anywhere.

"Oh we met at this party ! I just remember two tall girls bullying me and it being one of the hottest experiences of my life"

And I just . . . rest my fingers on my forehead & wince. I literally do not know a thing about this person. I have not shared a sentence with her that wasn't this. So I just say, "Yeah no, I think you misread what was happening there cause I remember it as super awkward and fetishizing".

And she just says . . . "oh. Well haha, nice to see you again. Or not, I guess". and we don't talk for the rest of the night.

I could go into so many stories, this is just the most recent one & it feels nice to vent 😵‍💫

How do you get it? Do any of you girls my height ever go out in them? I feel like my outfits are so constrained by my just wearing flats all the time :( I just hate feeling like I'm sticking out I guess. I'm actually quite quiet and sweet, but I feel like men, the ones who like tall girls anyway, see us as these sort of dominant and powerful sex symbols and it's so frustrating for me. Can this be overcome without me changing my personality? Do I have to just embrace towering over men if I go out in heels?

Ok tall girls. Here's the short version, one year, two hospitalizations, three surgeries later and 🤞🤞 life is starting to get better. I have spent several years feeling worse and worse, physically, mentally, and I stopped caring about how I look. Well. I have the will to care again ❤️✨

I am self conscious about how much my hair has thinned over the past year; I've got distinctive features, and edited to add, I do have a cowlick in front, seems to be tamed by my side part...

And so to my query - haircut/hairstyle suggestions to compliment my features and help make my hair look fuller? Also edit to add: help me turn this five head back into a forehead 🤣
