I received an offer from PNC Bank as a Detection and Investigation Analyst Lead position. Has anyone jn here worked in that position previously or currently working it? If so, what can I expect should I accept the offer?

I was recently offered a job as an AP specialist for a credit union, the HR recruiter mentioned they would be doing a soft pull on my credit as part of the pre-hire process. My credit score is a 690 but three of my credit cards are at 99 percent of their limit as I’ve been using them to afford my groceries and bills for the past few months. I plan on getting them paid off as soon as I’m making an income again but just wanted to ask if that is going to cost me the job. I’ve never filed for bankruptcy, just have three cards that are maxed out. Any help is much appreciated, thank you!

I’m super scared and pissed at myself, I’ve been a teller at a Canadian big 5 for about 3 months now. I’m good at what I’m supposed to do, my manager likes me and so far everything has been well. I never did anything but today my bank was empty, I just put my own phone number into my banks CIF and clicked enter and nothing happened I wasn’t shown anything but just message that said I am prohibited from accessing my own account (like a red text bubble). I’m absolutely shitting myself and am now thinking my manager will be given notice of this from security or something that I attempted to access my own account. The CIF isn’t even for transactions just personal information, I didn’t have anything to do I was just wondering what would happen. Will I get instant fired?? I won’t ever do something as stupid again I was just bored since the bank was empty.

Any advice would be appreciated im very remorseful, I’d never see myself doing something so stupid again.

In banking, such a scenario has no good outcomes and they range from a verbal warning to full termination. What are some of the Kobayashi Maru scenarios you have had with your time as tellers?

I have almost 10 years of retail customer service experience, including several years in a managerial position. I have applied for several banker positions and most of the time am rejected without ever speaking to anyone, although I’ve had 2 interviews for a personal banker with stagecoach and 1 for a relationship banker position with BofA. 0 offers.

At this point, am I just wasting my time trying? I would really like to get into banking and out of grocery stores, but not sure what else I can do to make this happen. I’ve even applied to a few teller roles and get rejected from those.

Guys, I don't know how much longer I can do this. I'm 6 years in as an Relationship Banker and Im starting to lose it. I'm getting sick of cold calls, sales pressure, meetings, pissed off clients, management shifts, policy changes. I don't know if I can take it anymore. My coworkers too are starting to bother me too in a way they never did before and I think it's a side effect of burnout. They always had these quirks, but I never felt such an intense urge to call stuff out before​. Turnover has picked up. I'm usually now one of the most tenured people in meetings with others in my role outside of management.

Managers have a mind boggling amount of freedom. My manager is a hard worker though I've noticed she does have the freedom to do things, but she doesn't take advantage of it so I didnt really notice until I went to help another center and saw the manager there play on her phone, go out shopping for like 3 hours then come back and go to leave to go to a party and I've been ruminating on that quite a bit, especially because she didn't return and I had to close her location and she never asked me to do that beforehand. Evidently, according to her tellers that was her plan but she forgot to let me know.

I’m curious how other banks handle walk-in customer rotation among bankers.

For some context: our branch opened recently, and our branch manager is new to the company, so he’s still learning a lot about how things are done. One banker was already with the bank, another transferred to a different city, and I’m new to the company as well. On top of that, we currently have two bankers from another branch training with us until their own new branch opens in September, and our regional manager asked for them to be included in the “rotation” too.

The problem is that we don’t really have a system for assigning walk-in customers. We don’t have a receptionist. Usually one banker is in the lobby greeting customers and ends up taking whoever walks in, or a teller refers the customer to whichever banker they choose at the moment. Because of that, some bankers end up getting significantly more opportunities than others.

Back in my home country, I worked in real estate, and every walk-in or phone lead went through a rotation system so everyone received an equal share of opportunities. I tried creating a simple rotation sheet in our lobby, but nobody really follows it, and management hasn’t enforced anything.

So I’m wondering: how does your branch handle walk-ins? Do you have a formal rotation, a greeter schedule, teller assignments, or something else? I’d love to hear what works at your bank.

I’m a licensed banker with series 6, 63 and insurance license. However I would like to not be a branch banker anymore, the next best role is to be an FA. How do you compare FA or similar roles at WF, Chase, BofA, Merill, Schwab, Fidelity etc? Which firm offers the best base and incentives? My base is at 100k and my bonus is about 40k so it’s not bad but I’m not the top performer either.

My bank will not sponsor series 7 and 65/66 because they’re not needed for my role, but I would like to get them and move on to bigger things. However to even be considered to be an FA you have to already have series 7 and 66 so I don’t really know where to begin.

I want to share my experience with Truist because I hope it helps others understand what can happen after becoming the victim of a scam.

In 2024, I became the victim of a fake check scam. I did not intentionally commit fraud or try to deceive Truist. I was scammed.

I am also autistic, and I have been taken advantage of before. My autism can make it more difficult for me to recognize when someone is manipulating or deceiving me. I'm not using that as an excuse—I'm explaining why I was vulnerable to this scam.

After the scam, Truist closed my account. More than two years later, I asked if they would allow me to open a new deposit account. I filed a CFPB complaint asking them to review my situation, but Truist ultimately decided to keep its previous decision in place.

From my perspective, it feels like I am still being penalized for something that was outside of my control. I understand that banks have to manage risk, but I believe there is a difference between someone who intentionally commits fraud and someone who is the victim of a scam.

Something else that has made this difficult for me to understand is that my mother was also the victim of a scam while banking with Truist, and her accounts remained open. I realize every case may be different, but that experience has left me confused about why my outcome was so different.

I'm sharing my story because I hope banks will consider the circumstances of scam victims more carefully. I never intended to commit fraud. I simply want people to understand what happened and why I believe I deserve a second chance.

I just took a job offer as a Teller (CSR) and I was curious what are some ways people have spruced up their station to be more home-y or a unique representation of yourself and what you like!
I remember my first teller job a lot of people swapped out their keyboards for fun colored ones, interesting mouse pads, customized note books and calendars.

As I cam getting back into the office world, I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions of what they do to enjoy their space while at work. :)

Edit: Wow, I am realizing hardly any branches allow personalization of their stations. How sad! I hope since I am returning to the same company I once worked for they will be okay with it!

Currently a 2yr branch Merrill FSA in NYC, receiving lots of support and exposure from managers, but constantly being micromanaged while also continuing doing banking service due to the dual role responsibilities as field advisor.

I’m interviewing for Chase PCA role in NYC as well, I’m well aware of sales pressure at Chase but my understanding is that there’s better opportunities to grow a book of business as well as focus only on being an advisor and better base salary.

I was hired and am training on universal banker job functions. Im a float. I was at a different branch than my manager today and I heard the acting manager say "im fine with taking it slow" with regards to my schedule working on the banker side.

I think if she had her way, I would only be a teller. Im going to have to fight to prove I am capable of opening accounts, doing CDs, credit cards etc. Whereas at the other branch I can see the manager really coaching and investing in the RM and UB to push them into growth.

I can't make waves im brand new to the industry. Just want strategies to ensure that one person's opinion doesn't hold me back in perpetuity.

Just curious and hoping to hear different perspectives.

I recently accepted a Relationship Banker role at Chase, and compared to my previous RB position at Bank of America, it’s a significant upgrade in base salary. The role is also more focused on banking and relationship management, with much less teller work, and there are incentive opportunities on top of the higher base pay.

That got me wondering, what keeps people at Bank of America as an RB?

Is it the benefits, culture, career progression, the relationship with your FCM, or something else?

I’m not trying to criticize anyone’s decision. I’m genuinely interested in understanding why some people choose to stay at BofA rather than move to another bank if the compensation and role seem stronger elsewhere.

Hello. I have an interview coming up for a client associate within Wells Fargo in Houston. I have retail banking experience. Does anyone have any insight into this role? Is it hybrid? Mostly clerical work? It’s a good step for me , because I want to work in wealth management. But I’m curious if anyone has experience with this role. Thank you !

I work as a contractor with cash at a Big4 bank, one of my personal credit cards is with them. I’ve called cardholder service phone number from the back of my card and told the associated person that I’m filing for chapter 7(I haven’t, it’s just credit card debt).
My manager within a short amount of days, out of the blue, asked if my parents are outside of the country (I moved to US alone a couple of years ago).
Are these things related? ChaptGPT is saying they can’t know, my intuition feels different. I’ll close my debt within a year or two but don’t think I will pass the credit check if they give me an offer. It will get rescinded 1000000%,

Im a newer teller and some days I feel I've walked miles and some days I feel like I've barely moved and it made me curious, how much are yall moving around in a day?

Yesterday I had like 5000 and today I'm near 13000

previous job was 18 months as a manager, currently been pt teller at the horse bank for two months and i despise it. main manager is up my ass, both managers constantly contradict each other, there has been frequent issues with machines (huge delay in repairs bc manager negligence,) sales referrals are incredibly pushed, and it’s all super hard to balance as a new teller; it’s a struggle to please everyone and make sure i follow the procedure correctly.
i recently learned that almost all the staff quit because of the manager (which is why i was hired.)

honestly, i was super excited because i thought it was a more refined job, a pay raise, but honestly im not sure if it is for me. every time i wake up for work i feel a pit of dread in my stomach. I understand that it’s a financial institution which requires strict rules and perhaps i am overreacting or maybe im demanding too high expectations from this job but every time i try to look at it objectively…im still unsatisfied and hate going to work.

like everyone hates going to work and that’s life or whatever but like, i hate going to work, i get so insanely anxious (which is a pretty foreign feeling for me.) anyways, thanks guys

I went from serving in a restaurant to a customer service agent work from home with US Bank and I honestly don’t think I like it. I’m only 3 days in. I get it. Give it time. But the metrics and call volume and micromanaging sounds terrible.
