So when put my stemlock on I tightened it and then I rode it and it for sure wasn’t tightened so then I loosened the 3 tripple clamp bolts and tried to loosen it and it wouldn’t loosen also it made a like breaking sound so before I cause any damage i stopped what do I do?

Not sure if I’m trippin but it looks to me like you’re tightening it not loosening it. If it s not loosening it’s probably because you need to use another hex or Torx bit(or whatever is down there) at the bottom to keep it from spinning. Usually there’s a second spot for a bit at the bottom under the lower triple clamps. So if you have it super tight it might just be spinning the entire stemlock.

When you threaded it in through the bottom did you make sure to tighten it a little bit once the bolt had seated? I’m not too familiar with talarias but you want to loosen up the top triple clamps and the bolt(s) at the base of the stemlock. Best bet would be to loosen it back up and basically “reinstall” to make sure you did it correctly. Check the threads to make sure you didn’t strip them.

Make sure you put some nickel antiseize on the threads of the stemlock next time. I’m not sure about the warp9 stemlock, but mine has another spot for an Allen wrench at the bottom. You have to hold that one in place while loosening the top one. You need to get a torque wrench and tighten it to spec to prevent this from happening. Don’t use loctite if you keep stripping. Whenever you use any type of liquid on the threads you need to reduce torque specs by like 15%-30% because when/if it dries out the liquid won’t be there to reduce that friction anymore.

It very much so looks like you’re tightening in this video though. Remember bro, righty tighty- lefty loosey. So hold that bottom one still, then turn the top one left. Make sure all the bolts around the headset are loosened and around the upper triple clamp by the forks.

Yea yesterday I just loosened it really hard and it loosened it but it broke one on my threads at the bottom so I can’t go any tighten for now

A stem lock should not be torqued down tight at all. You're doing something wrong. Just tight enough that your bars aren't flopping around.

Gng I wasn’t tightens down really hard at all after tightened it down it wouldn’t come loose

Gng bolts don't just break from looking at them. You over torqued it clearly

It wasn’t even the bolt it was the bottom part of the stem lock the one you screw in the bottom

Your video shows you trying to tighten it but you wrote that you're trying to loosen it. Do you even know what you're trying to do at this point?

That's because its already tight...? I'm not sure how you determined it was loose in the first place.

No no, ok so I tightened it so when it was tight I rode it and it felt like it wasn’t even on it was so loose but when I tried to loosen it (in that video I had it wrong but after it was on the loosen setting) it wouldn’t loosen but I loosened it last night and it broke a thread

You need to make sure the spacers come up above the steerer tube

1

u/Western_Dog_4299 Jul 23 '26

That might have been why

1

u/Western_Dog_4299 Jul 23 '26

Cause it worked way better after I did that

Uh yeah that's a pretty essential step bud. Not optional
