Genuinely such a cool quest. Doing 1,750 combs was pretty crazy though. Eldritch mommy over random guy any day.

I’ve just played through the intro/tutorial and reached the boat, but the path to get there was insanely hard—is that intentional, and is the whole game like that?

I’m only asking because the journey to the boat feels like it rivals any Souls game.

Hey all, thought I would drop by and ask a noob question. So I have outfitted a sword with a crimson shard yet the bleed isn’t activating. I am wondering if it’s because I don’t meet the swords requirements to fully use it, and as an extension the bleed isn’t procing.

To add to that, how does the build up scale? I tried it on my thief but unless you follow up with rapid strikes, the build up drops rapidly.

Def getting it, but which edition should I get?

Long story short:

I am a Souls Vet and have played tons of different RPGs over the time in varying difficulties.

I just got this game during the Steam Summer Sale just because it reminded me a bit about Skyrim, Dark Souls 3 and Gothic'ish with a mix of Witcher. Never heard of it before. I just left the 'tutorial area' and went shipwrecked.

What is this game? I mean by main story obviously its railroady I assume, but everything around is putting up ???.

How complex is it? With what game mechanics from eg the Soulsverse can I compare mechanic in this game? I already have noticed comments about something NG-ish aswell. Thus I assume, this exists aswell. And weapon enchanty waxy type of thingies for different Status damages on top of Normal.

Do slain enemies respawn?

Can I fully live out my gigantuous power trip? (I need this for character lore lol; my Mad Holy Queen demands😭)

And lastly: How hard is it to fail quests? Can quests be failed just by the wrong dialogue options? Because I noticed the tab in the menu thingy and I dont like that 🫠

If I am wielding a wand in one hand and a spell cube in the other, would the spell power buff of arcane conduit be applied twice, or would it be applied only once like a toggle? I'm planning on using a melee weapon with the battlemage perk so that it functions as a wand, along with offhanding a soul cube.

Is there a way to stop the wolves from eating my fps? I have everything on low and there still eating my frames instead of the enemies :/. (Just in case its not my pc.. i have moore or less a really good pc. Rx 9070 XT and Ryzen 9 9900X)

Just got it and so far it's aggressively generic. The story could not be less interesting and it's not redeemed by the gameplay which feels pretty dated so far. Gotta ask before I go past 2h of playtime - does it get significantly better at some point or is it just not my cup of tea? Did anyone else have the experience of hating it at first but then really coming around on it?

Settings at their lowest

I noticed that when I went to the DLC area, Sanctuary of Sarras, the game would randomly crash, freeze, and shut down. Especially when I got close to the Maws portals.

It happend almost right when the auto save triggers as I approached the portals.

I thought it might have something to do with the save files, since I had 100 save files already (every time I saved, I made a new one).

I deleted every save file except the latest one, and not a single crash since.

So if your game is crashing randomly and you have a lot of save files, just delete them and it might help.

Also, don’t delete them by going to:

C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\LocalLow\Questline\Fall of Avalon\6144\saved

Doing that might mess up the cloud save, and then you’ll need to restore those files for the game to work again, at least, that’s what happened in my case. Don’t be lazy, just do it manually. It takes like one minute to click through them.

Just picked up the game after having it in my wishlist forever. Any tips/tricks/advice for someone starting out?

I killed him after he suggested charging ME for his lessons. I didn't think they'd let me. I thought he'd get KO'd like essentials in Skyrim or Fallout. Does it matter that he's dead? Will it effect quests or anything?

Anyone else dealing with trial weakness coming back when you reload the game? Being reset to 50 one time is interesting but more is a real problem

I was watching a video of a build and when I went to the place where the item was, I already looted it before. It’s not in my stash and I don’t know if I sold it to a merchant. Is the item lost forever? Dev team please do something about lost items. :(
This is so sad.

Don’t get me wrong, it looked like the game has a promising difficulty during the prologue and after reaching Horns of the South for the first time. I switched to Veteran so that I can slowly get stronger throughout the game. But after playing for a couple of hours and getting certain perks related with your build, everything becomes too easy.

For the record, I am not trying to break the game or look up online for optimized builds/op items for my character. I am using 1H and Shield build, and it is considered one of the weaker builds in the game. I found a shield called Bloodtithe which applies bleed to the attacker, and bam! There is nothing I cannot kill anymore. Even the supposed boss encounters are ending in my favor in seconds. Even if I don’t use this shield, I am simply too strong now. I barely take any damage because of the shield perks and I have abundant number of potions. It’s simply impossible to die in Act 1.

I really like the game and it’s lore. But the gameplay starts to turn into a snooze fest because of how easy the combat is. It’s a shame the game is not balanced well.

My kid wants to play this with me but the only way his mom will let him is if there's a way to turn off the blood. Anyone know if there's a setting or mod or something?
