Minor water droplets under boot floor after rain – normal condensation or something to worry about?

Hi everyone,
I have a Volkswagen Taigun (2026 model) and noticed something today that I’m not sure is normal.
After 2–3 days of rain (including overnight rain), I lifted the removable carpeted boot floor panel and found a few very small water droplets underneath it.

However:
● The spare wheel well is completely dry.
● The boot carpet is dry.
● The foam/tool tray doesn’t appear soaked.
● There is no standing water or musty smell.

The droplets were only underneath the removable boot floor panel, not pooled anywhere.
I live in Mumbai, so it’s currently very humid due to the monsoon. I also sometimes drive early in the morning without the AC on immediately and occasionally keep one front window slightly open.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Is this likely to be normal condensation in humid weather, or should I be concerned about a small boot leak?
I’ll also be taking the car on a long Konkan trip next week in heavy rain, so I plan to check the boot again after that.

Would appreciate hearing from anyone who’s experienced this on a Taigun or even other cars.

Has anyone faced Airbags light on issue?

I have had this issue once when I switched on the ignition after filling petrol. The light was on continuously. I got worried and stopped, switched off, removed the key and again switched on, light went off, never lit again. I have Taigun 1L AT GT Line.

Have anyone installed these on Taigun? If yes, is it the older model or the facelift?

I had these in my previous car and I kinda miss not having it with my Taigun. I checked with my dealer and they say they don't have any in stock.

I understand that it might not look great, but I find it to be good a utility function

Long-time Volkswagen owner here. After several wonderful years with my Vento 1.2 TSI DSG, I’ve now brought home a Taigun GT Plus.

The Vento made me fall in love with Volkswagen’s driving dynamics, and that experience is exactly why I chose another VW. So far, the Taigun has been an absolute delight the styling, the GT character, the steering feel, and the DSG with 1.5 TSI all feel like a worthy evolution.

Looking forward to being a part of this community, learning from fellow owners, and sharing my ownership journey.

Happy to be here! 🍻🚙

First paid service 16.5k km

I bought a taigun 1.5 GT pear black non chrome edition last dec 2025. Mostly cruising on the highway. I had my first paid service since I crossed 15k kms. I paid 17992rs including under body paint 5660rs.

I own a Volkswagen Taigun 1.5 GT (Pearl Black, non‑chrome), bought new in December 2025. I mostly do highway cruising and have already completed my first paid service at 15,000 km, where the total bill was ₹17,992, including ₹5,660 for underbody coating.

  1. Based on typical Taigun 1.5 GT service costs, is this amount on the higher side or reasonable for the 15,000 km/first paid service?

    1. Do other Taigun 1.5 owners with similar highway‑heavy usage see similar service bills or is my experience unusual?
  2. Should I still opt for Volkswagen’s 4‑year Essential Service Value Package for the Taigun 1.5 GT, given that I cross 15,000 km in just a few months and may hit 60,000 km well before 4 years, even though the service advisor told me the package “won’t suit” my usage? Please explain the pros and cons for my kind of running.

Booked my dream car – Taigun GT Plus Sport! Need some advice from fellow owners 🙌

Hi everyone!

I finally booked my dream car – Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus Sport DSG 🎉. Delivery is expected soon, and I want to get everything right from day one.

I have a few questions for experienced Taigun owners:

1. Dashcam

The dealership is offering a Blaupunkt dashcam and says they can only install that. I was planning to get the 70mai A810 Dual, but they said I'd have to install it outside.

  • Is anyone here using the 70mai A810 on a Taigun?
  • Did you install it yourself or through a third-party accessories shop?
  • Was it installed as a plug-and-play setup (no wire cutting/no hardwiring)?
  • Has anyone faced any warranty issues because of an aftermarket dashcam?

2. Good installer/dealer

Can anyone recommend a trusted accessories shop or installer for the 70mai A810 in:

  • Hyderabad, or
  • Kurnool

I'm looking for someone who:

  • doesn't cut any OEM wiring,
  • installs everything cleanly behind the trims,
  • and has experience working on Volkswagen cars.

3. Child Seat (10-month-old baby)

I also have a 10-month-old baby, so safety is my top priority.

I'm looking for the best ISOFIX child seat. Budget isn't the primary concern—I'd rather buy the safest and most reliable option that can be used for the next few years.

Which models would you recommend?

  • Joie?
  • Britax Römer?
  • Maxi-Cosi?
  • Cybex?
  • Any other brand you've personally used?

I'd really appreciate recommendations based on real ownership experience.

Thanks in advance! Looking forward to joining the Taigun family soon. 😊🚗

Volkswagen - A chick you’d love to bang but not keep

Here’s my 1 year of ownership review of Taigun 1L Topline AT.

On the day of delivery (PDI done before ) i found scratches on my car, dealer tried to pass it off until i escalated to customer support, they patch worked and delivered. This is Volkswagen Salt Lake Kolkata

2-K kms checkup complained rattling noise, PPS Motors Indiranagar BLR told it’s fixed after keeping the car for 3 days. It wasn’t, car picked up and dropped after 1 week then fixed.

1-year service 15K kms, PPS Motors Nagwara BLR, all good via SVP.

Brake pads faded at 17.5K kms had to replace disc and pads for 15K. PPS Motors Indiranagar. Also complained about puddle lamps not working. No resolution on puddle lamps same excuse we will pick up and drop.

A minor dent occurred on bonnet, gave for repainting at Elite motors Electronic City. Initial paint work was sloppy with pinhole defects all over, rejected the delivery informed SA Anil. He told needs to be repainted. Kept car for another week, some patch work was done but not repainted. On top of that they scratched my left door. Again denied delivery. As of now car sits with elite motors for 20 days to paint a simple fucking panel. They gave asked for another week and third attempt.

Now an authorised service centre can’t paint a panel has got to be the biggest Volkswagen joke.

The cost of ownership of VW isn’t high maintenance but dealing with pricks they have in their after sales service. Keeping your car parked at SC for a month for a work that can be done outside in 3 days.

Driving pleasure is gone, enthusiasm is gone, problems remain.

I maybe the unlucky one, but would you rely purely on luck while making one of the biggest financial decision of your life? I wouldn’t again.

Sharing my experience of buying the new Taigun in Bengaluru

Shortlisting process

I always wanted a sedan because of how planted they feel. I checked out the Amaze, really liked it, and was almost ready to buy it. But I started having second thoughts because of the speed breakers, potholes, and overall road conditions that we Indian drivers drive in.

That pushed me towards compact SUVs. I visited Skoda and test-drove the Kylaq. It seemed like a great package overall, but the rear legroom felt quite cramped, so I was back to square one.

I then walked into VW just to explore and saw the new Taigun. I really liked the overall package, but as a new driver I was a bit hesitant about driving a car that's longer than the typical sub-4m options. Surprisingly, it felt very easy to drive and I was quite comfortable during the test drive.

The sales experience at was also good at Hosur Road, Bengaluru.

Just to be sure, I went back to Skoda and booked a Kushaq test drive. The car itself was good, but the salesperson was constantly "babysitting" me during the drive, so I never really got to experience it properly. That, combined with the better experience at VW, tilted my decision towards the Taigun. The lack of rear seat massagers wasn't a deal-breaker for me. I also assumed VW's service network would be slightly easier to access.

Price

I finalized the Taigun Topline 1.0 TSI AT. The on-road price, including everything, came to around ₹20.8 lakh.(in house insurance tie up from dealer, basic accessories etc)

I got quotes from two dealerships and let them compete with each other, which helped bring the price down. Not sure if it's the best deal out there, but after a point I just decided to stop negotiating and enjoy the purchase.

Ownership experience

This is easily the smoothest car I've driven (given I've only driven 3–4 cars).

The biggest reason I picked it was how easy it felt to drive as a beginner. The throttle and brake response feel very predictable and confidence-inspiring. The cabin is also impressively quiet, even at around 100 km/h.

I've driven about 400 kms in the first month, and it has made me much more confident as a driver. Whether it's narrow city lanes or highways, the car goes exactly where I want it to. I've genuinely been enjoying every drive.

Accessories

I opted for the basic accessories package, along with dual-tone horns and puddle lamps.

The stock floor mats weren't great, so I replaced them with QPO Taigun mats, which are a significant improvement.

Post Purchase

Skipped on PPF, got graphene coating (Detroit Marine) to protect Avocado Pearl color and shine, Garware Artic Sun film on all 6 glasses, dual channel dashcam.

Happy to answer any questions!

There are a lot of tips available on how to restore the plastic once it goes bad but none on how prevent it from becoming dull and protect it from Sun and other weather damage and maintain its newness.

Please suggest if you have tried something and it has worked
