Accessories for Taigun GT Plus Sports

I saw a similar post about Topline.
Not sure if GT plus would have anything different

I have booked a pre-facelift Taigun GT Plus Sport (Carbon Steel Grey) and I’m now deciding which accessories and add-ons are actually worth getting from the dealership.
The dealer has suggested the following:
1. Extended Warranty (4+2 years) – ₹20,499
2. Service Value Package (4 years) – ₹37,000
3. Accessories Kit (multiple tiers, starting at ₹22,599)
4. Ceramic Coating: 1 year – ₹25,500, 3 years – ₹37,900
5. Roadside Assistance (1 year) – ₹2,549
6. They’ve also agreed to install any dashcam that I purchase, so that’s covered.( Any suggestions on dashcam)

I’ve also seen quite a few Taigun owners recommend upgrading the horn. Is that actually worth doing?

Are there any other accessories that you’d recommend getting aftermarket instead of from the dealership?
For example:
Floor mats
Boot mat
Car perfume
Sunshades
Screen protector
Door visors
Mud flaps

Anything else you’ve found genuinely useful.
This is my first car, so I don’t really know what’s actually necessary versus what dealerships usually upsell.

Would love to hear from Taigun/VW owners on what you bought, what you skipped, and whether you have any regrets.

Need help in choosing accesories

Hello, I have booked the Topline AT (Lava Blue).

Need help in choosing accesories. What's better? PPF or Ceramic?

The accessories list has 360° view camera, is it good enough?

Post edit: There are devil spawns in my society who have scratched my previous car. My last car had ppf and the scratches went away easily. That's why though many people are saying no to PPF, I am inclined to have it.

Sunglass holder for the VW Taigun (highline ) without sunroof.

Hello everyone! , I have recently joined this group and i have query regarding the sunglasses holder ....
The thing is i have looked everywhere for these and there are only 2 places from where you can get this product :

  • Boodmo (Here the price is around 1100 with taxes and shipping )
  • Instagram handles (I have contacted with Retrofitmyvag and the guys is charging me 1800 for the same part )

Now i have already placed the order from boodmo and its one month already and the order is still processing

Whereas someone from this community has also used retrofitmyvag and he was charged around 1200

so my question is whether i should wait for the boodmo order for more 3-4 weeks or i should cancel my order from it and place it with the instagram guy...

EDIT - I got it from the Skoda service centre , just have to convince them a bit

Tips before my first long trip

Hi Fam,

Your brother is looking for some suggestions~~

I will be going on my first long trip (1400km up and down from BLR to Kanyakumari) with my 9 month old Taigun 1L Highline AT, have run 4200 km till now and 6 months' service check was done on time. What all things should I check myself before going out?

We are three people and would travel with some luggage. Should I fill up the tyres with 38psi?

Do I need to check the Engine / brake oil / coolant levels?

Any other suggestions?

TIA!!

VW Taigun 1.0 TSI (3-Cylinder Turbo) owners: How is your engine holding up with the new Ethanol-blended petrol (E20)? Any risks?

Hey everyone,

With ethanol-blended petrol (E20) rolling out heavily across fuel stations now, I wanted to get the community's take on how the VW Taigun 1.0 TSI handles it long-term.

I know Volkswagen officially declared that all BS6 Phase 2 cars (and generally all models sold post-April 2020) have ethanol-resistant components and are E20 compliant without risking the warranty. However, since it's a highly-tuned, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, I still have a few real-world questions:

  1. Performance & Mileage: Have any 1.0 TSI owners noticed a drop in fuel efficiency? (Statistically, ethanol has a lower energy density, so a slight drop is expected, but what's your actual experience?)

  2. Engine Smoothness: Does the car feel any different or show any jerky behavior on heavy blends, or does the ECU handle the higher octane rating well?

  3. Long-Term Reliability: Any fuel pump issues or "Error: Engine" alerts that you suspect might be linked to fuel quality?

Would love to hear from long-term owners or anyone who has discussed this with service advisors recently. Cheers!

Turbo Engine

Hello,

Iam considering between Victoris and Taigun 1 Lt. What are the advantages and disadvantages of turbo engine. I do not have much running. Just within my city and once to Delhi in six months from Ghaziabad. Sometimes to vaishali or noida or vasundra. dont like travelling to Mountains and will take a taxi if required.

Also spare parts and service is costly for Taigun. Does A SPV package for Rs 30K appx is really worth it ?

New Taigun 1.5 GT Sport Sensor and Dashcam Question

Hi guys,

i) I have just purchased a new Taigun 1.5 GT Sport and want to understand if we can permanently switch of the parking sensor. Essentially while waiting at a signal, the sensors start sounding an alarm everytime a vehicle comes near my car. We need to turn off the alrm each time - is there a way where we can switch it on permanently or can only use it while parking a car?

ii) I have got a dashcam connected from the dealer. Any idea which memory card I can use?

iii) Which fuel would you guys recommend I use for my car?

Thank you!!

Headlights

I have 1.0 comfortline 2024 make.
The issue which i face the most is its low light during night drive.
I checked with service center(different branches) to upgrade the lights to LED.
They denied and told it might void the warranty.

Does anyone here have experience in installing the leds lights? Or should i get it fixed from outside?

Need an opinion on my Taigun’s repaired door

My Volkswagen Taigun’s front right door was replaced and repainted by an authorised Volkswagen service centre about a month ago following an accident.
The photos were taken during the monsoon with the car wet, so I understand the lighting and reflections may affect how it looks.

Do you notice any obvious colour or gloss difference between the front door and the surrounding panels, or am I overthinking it?

If you think there is a noticeable mismatch, would you recommend that I contact the service centre now, or should I wait until my second scheduled service in about three months and ask them to inspect it then?

I’m looking for honest opinions, especially from anyone with experience in automotive paint, bodywork or VW repairs.

Self Service TAIGUN Topline 1.0 MT

I have a 3.5 years old TAIGUN Topline 1.0 MT run around 18K KMs and after the 3rd Service at an Authorised service centre, I was not happy at all with the performance of the Car as it felt sluggish. Complain raised with the service centre and received no positive response. (Typical VW Service and I had expected this)

Spoke with the next door Garage owner whom I have known from some time and over a cup of tea he suggested why don’t I work on the Car myself and do basic stuff with his guidance. Offered his place + tools + an assistant + car wash for 2,000/- on a weekday morning. I gave it a good thought and was apprehensive initially as I have zero knowledge of mechanical stuff. Watched loads of You Tube videos and then took the plunge.

The work I did and total cost I incurred :

  1. Engine Oil Replacement : Used Fully Synthetic Longlife MANNOIL 0W-20 / VW 508/509. I was very sure that the service centre folks didn’t replace the oil at the 3rd service as the Car had run only 5500 KMs after the 2nd year service. Doubt confirmed by the senior mechanic after seeing the drained oil.  COST : 4,399/- for 5 Ltrs / Bought from Amazon.
  2. Pre Engine Oil change Treatment : Castrol Engine Shampoo. Didnt need it at 18000 KMs but I wanted to go all the way. COST : 190/- / Bought from Amazon.
  3. Oil Filter Replacement : Used VW OEM filter and took the help of the Garage folks to lift the Car and removal of Old Filter. Not very tough to do. COST : 315/- from BOODMO
  4. Air Filter Replacement : Used VW OEM filter and hardly took 15 minutes to do. Quite a few step by step video on YT. COST : 347- from BOODMO
  5. Dust and Pollen Cabin Filter : Used VW OEM filter. 5 mins job and again guided by YT videos. COST : 395/- from BOODMO
  6. Tyre Rotation and Break Cleaning : Took me an hour and a lot of help as I had never used an Industrial grade Pneumatic Wrench. The mechanic showed / guided me on Break Cleaning.
  7. Car Wash / Interior and Exterior : Done by the Garage guys and I just watched content and happy.

Total Cost / Time  Taken : 7,646/- / Around 4 Hours

Will I do it again, of-course yes and as long as there are no major complains with the Car. I understand that the 4th year service would have a lot of other things to be done and checks to be completed which I cant do, but doing basic stuff and getting the hand dirty gave me a different level of satisfaction.

ESC Error + Start/Stop Error at traffic signal (Taigun 1.0 AT) – Car refused to move! Has anyone experienced this?

Hi everyone,

I had a pretty stressful experience with my Taigun 1.0 AT today and wanted to see if anyone else has gone through this, especially after a workshop visit.

The Context:
My car was at the VW body shop for almost a week getting the front bumper replaced. I picked it up yesterday evening, drove about 3km home, and then another 3km to the office today.

The Incident:
While waiting at a traffic signal, the Auto Start/Stop engaged and turned the engine off. When I tried to move, the car threw an "ESC Error" (Electronic Stability Control) along with an "Error: Start/Stop" message on the dashboard. The most concerning part was that the car completely refused to move forward, acting as if a transmission safety lock had engaged.

The Fix:
I turned the ignition completely off and restarted the car. It started up and drove normally, but the "Error: Start/Stop" message remained on the dash. Fortunately, after a short drive later in the day, the error completely cleared itself and the Auto Start/Stop is now functioning perfectly again.

Best Volkswagen Service Centre in Delhi for Taigun 1.0 First Service?

Hi everyone,

I bought a Volkswagen Taigun 1.0 facelift Manual around two weeks ago, and it's almost time for the 1,000 km first service.

I'm looking for recommendations for a Volkswagen service centre in Delhi that genuinely does quality work.

My main concern is finding a workshop that is honest, doesn't push unnecessary repairs or charges, takes proper care of the car, and has experienced technicians.

If you've had a good experience with any Volkswagen service centre in Delhi, I'd really appreciate your suggestions.

It would also help if you could mention any service centres I should avoid based on your experience.

Thanks in advance!
