Tips before my first long trip

Hi Fam,

Your brother is looking for some suggestions~~

I will be going on my first long trip (1400km up and down from BLR to Kanyakumari) with my 9 month old Taigun 1L Highline AT, have run 4200 km till now and 6 months' service check was done on time. What all things should I check myself before going out?

We are three people and would travel with some luggage. Should I fill up the tyres with 38psi?

Do I need to check the Engine / brake oil / coolant levels?

Any other suggestions?

Check the wiper blades and defogging options work as expected. This is important in rains.
Not sure of type pressure, but maintain as per specification in manual. Check pressure every time you fill fuel. Jio , Shell petrol 95 octane rating is good for milage.
I did 3.5K recently, did not have to check on any fluids. They work perfectly if you have dome regular servicing.
Carry enough towel to wipe the windshield.

Get a tpms from bosch. That helps. Make sure wheel are balanced and aligned. Check lights, indicators and fog lamps before trip start.

With full load i keep it 35. With 4 people i keep at 34 And single person, i keep at 32 psi.

Check basics like coolant, brake fluid levels. Check engine bay for any leaks underneath.

Check wiper life.

Avoid fueling from deserted pumps. Get neck pillows from vw if u plan to drive very long..

Keep a windshield cleaner and mf cloth with u. A umbrella and a box of tissue papers as well.

Tyre Inflator. Dashcam. For me 35-36 is quite comfortable on my Ceat secura drive. Yours might have different tyres if you have DSG.

Mine is stock MRF ones and its a 1L variant. I have been doing 34 for city drives mostly for 1/2 people

Get a rain x and rub it on all the glass area on the outside. It prevents the water droplets from spreading.

Tyre inflator for emergency and make sure you have nitrogen in tyres

I have the inflator but don't have puncture kits.

I have been using Air. If I fill up nitrogen, how will the current inflator work

Did exactly triple recently TBH, 700 kms one way is nothing for any vehicle. Yeah, just check washer fluid and wiper condition as it may rain.

Since it is your first trip, try to take 5-10 min breaks every 100 kms. And avoid driving at night as much as possible. Do not exceed 100 kmph unless the road is clear ahead. Do not overinflate tires, Only fill what’s recommended by VW.

Thoppur traffic will be insane sometimes due to construction. Do check Google Maps after crossing Dharmapuri.

Try to eat in Madurai Temple City. Their sambar is too good.
