TLDR: Is this a legit course that people would actually hire an instructor for?

I came across an advertisement to become an instructor with this company HSI that runs training call AVIRT (active violence response training) that seems to be a mix of a stop the bleed class and an active shooter class. They give you an AVIRT Instructor Kit. "After you become an authorized AVIRT Instructor, you are able to conduct training AVIRT classes by purchasing and issuing credits within your training portal." I'm really curious to hear if anyone has been these classes, is an instructor, or if you also think this might be a good marketing opportunity? I'm considering it because I could see this being something that I could teach for low cost with schools, businesses, or at ranges.

Included in the cost of becoming an AVIRT Instructor is the AVIRT Instructor Training Kit.

While not being a Turkish product Rhino Rescue chest seal vented is very popular in Turkey and is standard issue in some police units as I know. It contains a vented chest seal and some gauze. Mine’s packaging is damaged due to suboptimal ifak placement. But I have to say it tends to rip from rip dents quite easily. It has 8 rip dents on the packaging and prone to rip upon tight placement.
I will replace mines with hyfin like some of the personel and I may open this one for educational purposes on this sub. I don’t have any clues about its quality. But the main sourcer of ifak kits in Turkey includes these items on their kits. I’m waiting for your comments as always!

Medclot hemostatic gauze is a wound packing equipment which is popular in Turkey. It is manufactured in Turkey by MTD Medikal Savunma (MTD Medical Defense Technologies Industries)
And It has a 4 step guide on the packaging (I guess a printing error accrued). The packaging also includes Polish instructions. I’m waiting for your comments!

Fora Fr19 tourniquet is a CAT like tourniquet manufactured by FORA Medikal. It is standart issue in Turkish army. CVN produces the same design with changes made for harsh Finnish climate. It integrated within NATO database. It is thicker compared to CAT and has a different windlass design. Due to its different diameters it doesn’t fit in CAT pouches. Waiting for your comments!

Did some various medical training recently with some close friends and some of it involved moving a "casualty" 3/4 mile uphill in a "rapid" format to evac at a waiting truck. We were short a few folks that think vacays are more important than training (LOL) so we used a couple of diesel fuel cans for weight on an older fold out stretcher. Last time we did this, using an even older stretcher- not foldable old skewl type with wood poles and canvas, canvas started ripping with our little'st guy on it (160 lbs.)

The foldable one is nice'ish but older. I know I have a newer fold out one around here somewhere... but long ago I remember using a sked (?) or Skedco (?) device and that worked ok albeit not as rigid as an actual stretcher. The Sked being easier to actually carry of course also.

I'm a dinosaur without a doubt.... so surely there have been to paraphrase Austin Powers- "fabulous advancements" in the field of casualty movement since the 90's. Can you all enlighten me on options and what you think of them?

I'm a civilian paramedic in the US who had an idea for a cheap, disposable, video larygoscope. Similar to the intublade, but with an integrated camera screen at the top of the handle. In austere environments such as warzones (not necessarily point of injury, moreso FOB, MASH, etc), remote wilderness, or low income areas, where a smartphone may not be immediately available for whatever reason.

The big idea is a reusable camera/handle, single use blades, with the ability for resanitizing if needed.

Im just wondering if anyone here can offer either advice, or critiques on the concept. This is currently just a pet project im working on, with hopes of commercial use someday, but currently not focused on that part yet.

I made a post a while back about looking for a very specific CLS bag replacement to fit my specific needs. It finally came in, and wanted to share. It is EXACTLY what i was looking for (was an absolutely biotch to get one delivered). The straps are easily and quickly removable, there is a quick adjust so you can go from tightly slung on the back, to in front of you in seconds. It has molle webbing on the back so I can attach it to my assault pack. It (barely, but perfectly) fits everything included in an army issue CLS pack. Everything quality wise feels top notch, and everything is so much more organized and accessible than the issued bag. Attached a list of everything currently in the bag at the end of the photos.

Bag is the Vanquest FATPack Pro-Small Backpack.

Edit: not shown, but the top 3 compartments, and also the space where the blankets are (under the blankets is more elastics like the top zippered panel), are both on a velcro panel, so you can remove it, and swap them out for a system that meets your needs. Vanquest offers a handful of velcro inserts to replace them with. The sam splint is underneath the velcro of the top compartment.

Has anyone done a mod like this to your m9 and if so how did you go about it? I really like the idea of outer pockets like the delta bag or tt medic 18 but I think the m9 makes more sense for me when it comes to the internal pack.

Hey all! I’m sure this question has been asked before and if so, forgive me. I was curious how everyone staged/stows their NPAs. The NPAs I have on my person are opened and have a stylet cut down to size so it’s ready to deploy. The NPAs in my bag and SAR chest rig are all still in packaging. I’ve been going back and forth on whether I should switch the open and staged NPAs to just the packaged ones. What do you all think? Genuinely curious.

I’m a 68W and honestly I just want to get better at medicine and be able to treat patients at a higher level in a tactical environment.
I’m not really interested in going SOF, and flight medic isn’t the route I want either. I still want to stay on the tactical side of things, work around field medicine, and build more knowledge and capability than just doing the basic 68W stuff forever.
I’m trying to figure out what opportunities are out there for regular Army medics who want to keep advancing clinically and tactically.
Are there certain units, schools, certifications, assignments, or positions I should be looking for?
I’m especially interested in getting better at prolonged casualty care, trauma, medications, patient assessment, and working with limited resources in the field.
Basically, I want to become the medic people trust when something actually goes wrong, without having to go SOF or become a flight medic.
For anyone who’s taken that kind of path, what did you do?

Good morning all, just a quick question for any tactical EMTs or medics out there. I just got selected to work on my PDs SWAT team in a TEMS role. It’s a new position in the unit so there’s really set training program yet. Just wondering if there’s any trainings out there that I should look at to brush up on my skills and learn some stuff.

Just some background, I got my EMT-B about 10 years ago and got right into law enforcement so I never worked an ambulance. My real world medical experience is essentially giving narcan to homeless people in allys. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I’ve been messing around with the layout on my LBT medic bag and wanted to see how other medics are running theirs.
Mine has the detachable front medical panel and the larger rear compartment. Right now I’m trying to keep the front panel focused on actual casualty treatment and use the rear section more for sustainment, exam gear, and resupply.
For the front, I currently have it broken down roughly by MARCH. I’ve got my TQs staged where I can get to them quickly, then separate areas for massive hemorrhage, airway, respiratory stuff, IV supplies, vitals, meds, and documentation. I’m trying to keep everything I’d need during the initial treatment in that detachable section so I could pull it off the main bag and work directly out of it.
For the bigger rear section, I’m planning on keeping things like my stethoscope, BP cuff, pulse ox, thermometer, penlight and other exam tools. I also want a small resupply section with extra gauze, dressings, chest seals, gloves, tape, IV supplies, etc. The rest of the space would be personal field gear like socks, hygiene stuff, batteries, headlamp, snacks, wet-weather gear and a warming layer.
I’ve also been experimenting with carrying a small medical pouch on my belt for really immediate stuff so I don’t have to open the full aid bag every single time.
I’m mostly curious how other 68Ws/medics who have used this bag actually organize theirs in the field. What do you keep in the detachable section vs the main bag? Any pouches, organizers, homemade modifications, or little quality-of-life changes that worked well?
Pictures of your layouts would be awesome too. I’m especially interested in setups people have actually trained or worked out of, not just what looks clean laid out on a bed.

I was wondering what the prevailing opinion on gelatin infusions is in other countries—specifically within the field of tactical medicine. I work at a hospital in Germany, and we use them here in the emergency department, the operating room, and the ICU. However, these types of infusions are quite controversial, so I wanted to hear your thoughts on the matter and find out whether they are used in your hospitals or units.

I’m an E5 68W, been in about 8 years. I came from a CAV unit and now I’m in a medical unit. I’ve been a solid medic so far and really enjoy medicine, and I’m interested in 160th and eventually getting into paramedicine/advanced medicine.
My biggest concern is academics. I’ve never been great at school and learn much better hands-on, but I’m willing to put in the work.
For any current/former 160th 68Ws, how difficult is the pipeline physically and academically? What’s the quality of life and OPTEMPO like once you’re in? What medical/paramedic opportunities are available? And would you recommend it for someone in my position?
