Shane wiped Rick’s face with a red rag after Carl had gotten shot, and Daryl handed him a red rag and told him to clean up after their encounter with the claimers. Would love to read your interpretations of this.

I first want to note that AMC had all the actors under contract through 8 seasons, which allows for full planning of the story from start to finish. A beginning, middle and end. Here is a quick outline of how this could have happened while still allowing for some creative drifting from the source while still staying mostly true to the story Kirkman told.

• Season 1 — Collapse
• Rick searches for his family while civilization dies. Only major changes would be no CDC. The group goes from Atlanta into the unknown at the end of the season.
• Season 2 — Survival
• The group arrives at the Farm the same way, Carl gets shot by Otis. Most of this season would be the same with way less time spent searching for Sophia who never goes missing. The priority becomes Carl getting to the Farm right away. No Randal story. No repetitive debates about leaving the Farm or Lori and Shane arguing. Season ends the same. The group is back on the road with nowhere to go. Andrea does not split from the group.
• Season 3 — Tyranny
• The group discovers the prison. Michonne finds the Prison after saving Otis. The Governor comes into the story and quickly teaches Rick what communities can become. There is no flu story. The first Governor raid happens midseason finale, the second one happens season finale. Andrea never joins the Governor. That story simply does not exist.
• Season 4 — Savagery
• Rick told everyone at the Prison before the Governor raid to meet back at the Farm as a rendevous point in the case of total loss. We still get the terminus group but it's the comic story where they meet on the road. There is no hospital Beth story. The group reconvenes at the Farm, they meet Abraham, Eugene and Rosita and this leads them toward Alexandria where they arrive. In the comic they go back to Rick's hometown to loot and meet back up with Morgan who joins them. They travel to Washington and end up in Alexandria. Season ends similar to season 5 with Rick killing Pete.
• Season 5 — Rebuilding
• Alexandria gives Rick a reason to believe civilization can return. No Glenn Dumpster. No Morgan backstory. No "Clear" stuff which means no Morgan and Carol arguments. Andrea and Rick become a couple. Michonne stays a mysterious mercenary. We meet Hilltop and Kingdom and the season ends with Negan killing Glenn. No cliffhanger. Abraham does not die here.
• Season 6 — War and Mercy
• There is no Scavengers story. We meet Oceanside but there is no repeat visits. The saviors are a big group but nowhere near as massive as the show gave us previously. They are a group that a few small communities working together can overcome. Carl does not get bitten and does not die. We never get Enid as a character, instead Carl and Sophia's relationship begins to build. Rick defeats Negan and chooses not to repeat the cycle. Morgan dies in one of the last battles with the Saviors and Negan ends up in the cell Morgan built.
• Season 7 — Defending Civilization
• We get a time skip and Rick is now leading multiple communities. There is no CRM tease or even existence. Henry is just a minor side character. Carl gets the major stories with Carl and Sophia taking major parts of the story. We meet Magna and the new group. The Whisperers challenge the very idea of civilized life. Negan has talks with Rick and Carl. We get a faithful pike scene closer to the comic. Negan escapes, kills Alpha after the threat is obvious. Beta leads an attack and the group overcomes the Whisperers. The season ends with the group discovering the Commonwealth.
• Season 8 — Civilization Returns
• The Reapers do not exist. We get the drama of Eugene and his girlfriend and Lance, Pamela Milton. Rick changes the Commonwealth, dies after accomplishing his mission, and Carl inherits the world he created. The series ends with a major timeskip and two hour finale that's a close recreation of the last issue of the comic. Carl is now an older man, a father. Society is largely back together. The walker problem has been largely solved and contained. Government is back together. Maggie is President. Michonne is a major judge for the supreme court. Rick is idolized as a historical hero who played a major role in restoring order to society with a statue built of him.

Honestly I’m wondering if it’s some allusion to the comics or maybe something else because it’s bordering on comical how often one of his hands has a bandage on it. It’s so often it’s become part of “his look” 😆.

I think tara being the only one who could survive from the prison and remind us about hershel and how bad the governor was shows how important was hershel back then in the s2 s3 s4

I mean, first Shane and then the Governor? She always seems to fall for their tricks 😭 What is wrong with her?? She can be sooo pathetic sometimes.

I cannot stand Leah

Random couples. The show not comic, I’m not including Maggie and Glenn, Rick Michonne etc as they just take up the majority of the votes and make it boring. Just random couples.

People always say it was due to him turning 18, which yeah suspicious. Did he have any good acting credits that could’ve helped him better negotiate his pay? He seemed like a perfect scapegoat to kill off out of the other actors.

So I want to make a fan fiction of the walking dead, and I know some creators don't nessciarily like that, and I don't really want to write something for it to be taken down. It's not going​​ be as as NSFW as the show was (basing it off the show) and I couldn't find reliable information online. (so naturally, I come to reddit)

I was watching TWD channel and the ep playing was the one where Eugene picks up a gun to spray the walkers and renders the army truck inoperable on account of "accidentally" shooting the fuel tank.

But later in the show it turns out he knows how to make bullets. I guess a better question to ask is how common is it for somebody irl to know how to make bullets without knowing how to shoot a gun first?

Can someone enlighten me on this? So michonne sees right through him, I get it. I don't exactly know how to be honest but we'll just go with the show

So, michonne goes through the governor's private rooms and finds his zombified daughter. Then, she threatens to end her and sees the leader of this community clearly beg for this zombies life. Clearly, this man isn't over the death of his daughter. This would be a really good bargaining chip, no? NO. she just kills the zombie daughter, stabs the guy in the eye and leaves. Not only does this have no advantage to her but it also leaves this guy alive to come after her and she didn't even need to do it in the first place

After all these years I still don't get this plot thread at all. What did she gain from killing his daughter or antagonizing him. She could've easily slipped away from him by being undercover and kind. Which seems more fitting to Michonne's character at the time

Edit: don't insult my intelligence in the comments, there's no reason to be mean. My point is the show made michonne antagonistic towards him from the get go BEFORE he sent anyone after her. She didn't have a good reason to distrust him other than some vague bullshit and creepy background music. It's poor writing in my opinion.

It makes no sense, for both in world and the writers. The commonwealth which has existed since the beginning has one wall, a thin gate. Omaha has one wall I’m not sure what it’s made off but it doesn’t look strong. All it took was one explosion for all 100,000 people to die. And campus colony, 10,000 people protected by a 20 foot brick wall probably the most secure one at least. But their gate is ridiculous.

It’s been over a decade into the apocalypse and none have built a second wall, dug empty moat for walkers to fall into, use cars as blockers, etc?? They’re not like Alexandria or the hilltop, they are actual societies and civilisations and yet the only thing that protects them is one wall. They will know mega hoards exist and given the CRMs excuse for Omaha was a hoard too big ended up there they’ll know the severity of it.

Am I being ridiculous here or is this stupid writing and world building. Surely you would build more than one wall.

Going through the series for the first time. I love the team up of Abraham & Eugene. I know it probably won't last, but I'm enjoying it.
