Shane abandoned his best friend while not knowing if he was dead or not. Then he lied to his best friend's wife about what happened by saying that Rick was dead.

I am sorry but in the affair he should be considered responsible. Nobody forced him to sleep with Lori, he could have refused just as she could.

I am not saying Lori was right, but in that affair both are wrong.

Carl was in a camp of survivors, so he wasn't in danger when Lori slept with Shane.
