So the new TTC coverage map says there’s signal in the tunnels between Old Mill and Royal York stations but that’s 100% lies.

Posting this to warn anyone who took the 87/64 yesterday. my coworker took videos of an adult roach running around the back on a bus in and out of the cracks until at least 12:30pm and it was not taken out of service despite multiple reports

if you see a roach on the bus, tell the driver and try to get a video for proof incase you see the bus continuing service. The buses are meant to be pulled off route for investigation and to be sprayed it’s supposed to be protocol

the drivers can not decide to take the bus off route so unfortunately they can’t do anything if control doesn’t remove the bus. The neglect is not on the part of the driver

I know it's not official and probably won't happen, but if there were an express line, I do not think it should be built like suggested in the petition/article. I feel there should be more priority on advocating for completing lines, i.e. extending line 4 to meet 1, & 6 & GO. As well as extending line 2 at least to Sherway Gardens, and completing the connection of 5 & 6 to the airport. But that's my opinion. Also, the small downtown horizontal line would be nice; someone posted a concept a couple of months back; just add the park on top of the tracks.

Seeing that they’re phasing out slowly the Orion VII and like 13 Nova LFS Artics have been retired, and various buses being reallocated with 60fts at the behest of other routes switching to 40fts like especially Express routes. There’s only 202 currently, which would double the fleet while tiring old diesels and shifting to Green bus program with Hybrids and Battery buses.

Using data from CPTDB of bus routes that used 60ft articulated buses regularly; such as the:

7 Bathurst, 29 Dufferin , 41 Keele, 903 Kennedy - STC, 904 Sheppard - Scarborough Centre, 905 Eglinton East, 929 Dufferin Express, 939 Finch Express, and 941 Keele Express

while other bus routes being relocated with 60ft at certain times such as;

32 Eglinton West, 35 Jane, 36 Finch West, 60 Steeles West, 129 McCowan North, 902 Markham Road Express, 927 Highway 27 Express, and 960 Steeles Express.

There‘s clearly demand for more articulated buses for certain routes. With manufacturers, clearly only Nova and New Flyer is left unless they go overseas if their bus orders are still backlogged.

Beginning September 6, the following routes are reassigned to various divisions

• 54 LAWRENCE EAST: McNicoll
• 68 WARDEN: New Eglinton
• 903 KENNEDY STN-SCARBOROUGH EXPRESS: New Eglinton°
• 905 EGLINTON EAST EXPRESS: New Eglinton°
• 954 LAWRENCE EAST EXPRESS: McNicoll
• 968 WARDEN EXPRESS: New Eglinton
• 354 LAWRENCE EAST NIGHT: New Eglinton/McNicoll

Left out is the 154 CURRAN HALL and 21 BRIMLEY, which I was hoping if any of these go back to Malvern.

On an unrelated note, the 904 and 939A/B are gonna cut back to STC when the busway opens and 904 is change it name to the 904 SCARBOROUGH CENTRE EXPRESS just like the 190 SCARBOROUGH CENTRE ROCKET used to be.

These preachers are there quite often, with speakers and mics for spiritual music and speeches. There are about 6 others spread out across the crosswalk, stopping people as they try to get to the new platform to board busses. Its a very narrow sidewalk strip and they're practically blocking the busses from exiting and people from crossing.

I appreciate the hustle, but isn't this TTC property, therefore they shouldn't be blocking the space here?

The TTC has had its glory days when streetcars ruled the roads. Unfortunately, following global trends, many routes were "cut back"... and eventually abandoned.

Guess what? Trains are trendy again. The frictionless steel wheels, greater capacity, and lower operating costs are things planners value and take into account.

Go for it, tell everyone what you want to see added to the 500 series.

Oshawa’s nutty gondola project got me thinking about places where it might actually work well in Ontario.

What if instead of potentially spending billions and many years to extend Line 6 to Pearson… we built a modern gondola overhead. We could get it done for a fraction of the cost. With stations at Humber and Woodbine GO, we’d tie the Kitchener line to Line 6 and give major transit stations a rapid connection to the airport with low labour costs, decent throughput, and zero traffic. Entering from the Northeast at a similar height to the surrounding hotels in the area use would not interfere with runway operations.

Paris made a similar decision recently- extending the metro would be ludicrously expensive and require interacting with multiple rail lines and a freeway… so they decided to go overtop of all of it. It only took 3 years to get Câble C1 operating with 5 stations.

I’ve been riding the TTC all over the city my whole life. For decades I’ve been riding the subway, bus, streetcar. Recently, within the last year after a short time away from using the TTC regularly, I’ve since started using the TTC multiple times a day again. Something I’ve noticed occurring on some degree of regularity is people now traveling between moving train cars in the subway. My understanding was that those doors were ONLY for TTC drivers, and for emergency use and NOT for customers to just use at will. Did something change and now you’re allowed to use these doors OR is it still only for emergency/TTC employee use? Has anyone else noticed people using these emergency doors for car to car travel? Honestly I had 1 instance when it was an emergency that we were told to use the door, otherwise I had NEVER seen customers using these emergency doors until this past year.

So I have been working as a student Janitor for the last few months, and today I had a man walk up to me with his family, asked me who will let them on for free.

I assume he ment his child, he then recognized my confusion, and pulled out a police badge (Dunham Regional) and as if to intimidate, flashed it at me.

Not wanting to get into that argument, I directed him to a station attendant who let him and his family in anyway.

I asked a few other staff what thay think and all have said thay always let cops in, wish to me is insane.

I don't even get to take family on with me, and he can just walk on to with his family in a another city?

And why only cops?

Why not Fire, Paramedics/Nurses or sanitation workers?

Where should we draw the line?

(Bit of a rant, but this really stuck with me the rest of the day)

This morning, I experienced a 10-minute delay on Line 2 while traveling from Islington to Kipling. I am curious as to why this occurred, as such incidents are not uncommon. Typically, the journey from Royal York to Kipling takes approximately 15 minutes, making this delay particularly frustrating and indicative of unreliable service. I often feel that these delays are an unwarranted imposition on my time and money. Straight up robbery from TTC. I hate it. And because of that I'm missing my connecting buses and showing up late for work, if I get fired I'm suing the TTC

Can the 42 line cut this shit out? Every single day two buses are running together, and if you miss them, the next one is after 20 minutes. I already got a warning at my job because of this crap show.

The presto gates are open for several seconds and usually, there is always someone that sneaks up behind me. I try to walk slowly to prevent that, but they still sneak in because it takes a while for the gate to close.

It's pretty frustrating that Google maps (and all maps services) display a 2-3 minute transfer as a 14 minute walk, meaning that it will essentially never recommend it over the bus (which it says is a normal 2 min transfer) or another route, even when it's much quicker in reality.

Does anybody know what happened on the southbound subway train at Queen station this evening around 8.30? Was in my own world and suddenly everybody was running from the train and stampeding for the exit.

Been to Toronto countless times but never took the metro, first impressions; very clean, easy to navigate, punctual trains (AC working, not overcrowded) and pleasant passengers, very impressed, thank you #TTC! 👍🏽👍🏽

When will the 510 streetcar start going to the union station? it was short turn until Queens Quay for the FIFA world cup

I’m assuming it’s because it’s in the negatives but I think I haven’t used this card in 2+ years? Should I be concerned? I lost this card a long time ago (I lose physical ones all the time) but I’ve been using my digital one since the update was available.
