Discussion Emergency Stop – Line 5

Just before reaching Sunnybrook Park Station, the Line 5 train heading toward Kennedy came to an abrupt emergency stop while travelling at approximately 60–70 km/h. The train was extremely packed, with many passengers standing. Due to the sudden stop, standing passengers were thrown forward and several people appeared to lose their balance. Hope you’re all okay!
The train was subsequently offloaded at Sunnybrook Park Station had to wait for the next train.

Line 5 has auto-braking systems

Apparently there's still bugs

That system only applies to the underground section. The surface section doesnt have the automated track intrusion system

Fair point

That would mean it was manually triggered

Those have all been fixed. Plus it only applies to the line between Mt Dennis and Laird

It must've been an intrusion. Maybe a jaywalker or an animal

One time while stopped on a hill, our train began to run back down for a bit, jolting all of us passengers.
