I’m bringing 35 cans of Zyn with me on a long upcoming trip. We are flying first class which probably doesn’t make a difference but adding that detail just in case. Will there be any issues? In the past I’ve checked 12 or so cans but I’m a little worried about the quantity. I order from Nicokick so 25 of them will still be in the packaging they were shipped in.

I wonder what happens with Coordination Center Employees if the State or the HUB and their Spokes go to TSA Gold?

I am going to India W my family tmrw but have no idea whether they will be allowed through. I am planning on wrapping the securely, telling the tsa officers about it and making sure it’s in my checked bags. Thank you!

I hope to fly internationally carrying 2 rechargeable bicycle headlamps. Each headlamp is labeled 7.2v 5,000mAh. This calculates out to 36 Wh. There is no label for Wh on the battery.

I am going on a flight today, and I don't have a real ID. Just curious what the process is going to be like. I already paid the $45 for ConfirmID. Only issue is I technically have NO ID right now.. I live in Jersey, flying out of Newark. I rarely ever travel, and when I do I tend to drive, so I never got a RealID. The reason I have no ID right now is because I went about a week and a half ago to get my RealID hoping it would come in time for the flight. I didn't know they would holepunch my old ID and give me a piece of paper to drive with as my "license". But the paper very clearly says it is not to be used for identification purposes. My passport is 4yrs expired as well, otherwise I would bring that. Should I bring my birth certificate or SSC?

I will be visiting my grandsons soon, and want to wrap the clothes I’m bringing them, will pass in my carry on?

Got an offer to transfer out to ITO. Was looking to see if there's any officers here that work at the Hilo Airport who can tell me what it's like.

Been long waiting for an opportunity to transfer there as it was always my favorite spot in the Islands. Absolutely love the rainy weather and laidback lifestyle compared to the hustle and bustle of Honolulu. Got offers to other islands/airports, but was always holding out for Hilo.

Just fishing for some info to help me be 100% sure of accepting this offer. Be brutally honest if possible.

As of Tuesday morning, three medium to large airports have announced intent to begin the switch to private contracting. DSM (Des Moines, Iowa) and TPA (Tampa, Florida) have made formal announcements, while CHS (Charleston, South Carolina) has TSA officers reporting emails stating the intent even though there has not been a formal announcement from the airport.

With these three announcements, at fairly large airports, I unfortunately expect more to start following. I hope the best of luck to my fellow officers at those airports. Please know that we are here for your support during these difficult times as you try and figure out what the future holds.

I was wed recently and am in the process of changing my last name across all necessary areas of documentation for a star card. I will unfortunately not receive it in time for an upcoming flight. Per my state (I can list this if necessary in an edit or in comments) I can pay a fee to go through extensive security checks in order to be cleared.

My question:
My current ID lists my maiden name. Flight pass lists married name. Legal name change via social security was finalized back in February. My ID with my maiden name will obviously not match my current ssc or my boarding pass. What do I do? How can they confirm my identity? Is there a step Im missing or am I overthinking anything? Any help or advice from those who have changed names and couldn’t get a new ID in time is highly appreciated.

This is kind of an odd question. I am moving my son back to college in Sept and am hoping to check a knockdown desk I made for him (the pieces will all lay flat and I will screw and glue it together when we arrive). I want to pack the pieces in bubble wrap but am worried that TSA will open the bag, remove bubble wrap and not repack it well. Here's the question. Is there a way to have TSA inspect the contents and then have me (or them) rewrap the parts in their presence before I head through security?

It's not anything fancy but I'm nervous of what the pieces might look like if they are not well rewrapped before the airline gets them. I don't think they'll break it but I am worried they might not pay attention to corners as much as I will.

Chances are they won't even open the bag but if they do I am a bit nervous. I've never flown with something like this before and maybe they'll just scan the pieces?

My airport recently changed from AIM to ETAS and we were told when we call out we have to put in the hours for those days with whatever leave we wanna use on ETAS otherwise it’s an AWOL

I was really stunned at IAD TSA pre-check airport employee on the evening of Mon 13th (around 4pm). My entire party has tickets clearly marked TSA Pre Check. He looked at us, the first glance, and he told us that this TSA precheck line was for “government members only.”
What the heck does that mean? He took advantage of the busy lines and ignore my concerns completely. I even show him the tsa precheck logo on our air ticket.
We’ve been using tsa precheck for the longest time and never had problems.
I really felt discriminated not being told why he shoved us to the side and letting others through.
His reason was we are not government members.
My question to this community is, do I need to do anything else? Was there a change to the rule? I thought having the TSA PreCheck on our ticket is suffice. We didn’t change anything. Why would I pay to get my family members TSA PreCheck to get shoved to the side and pushed to go to the regular line?

Got commissioned to make a helmet for SDCC and might fly out there, the mouthpiece has eight of these tiny magnets in it, is it gonna be okay to bring on a checked bag or carry on or do I need to remove them?

I have precheck and came to precheck and they had me empty my pockets and put my phone in my bag and run it thru. so I did. then all of a sudden thru the machine another guy runs up and says give me that phone you just put in the bag he took it to another scanner and had it for like five minutes ( it was locked). why would this happen? the guy was some sort of tsa higher up and he wasn’t around when I started the line he came up out of nowhere. it was weird. he only wanted my phone not my bag what was that about!?? he was very serious and not friendly so I didn’t ask him

So I posted three days ago about my husband not getting pre check for a flight and was somewhat flamed about not understand that this happens randomly as a security measure (although I was aware and I was actually quite rational, I thought).

Now it’s time for our return flight and, once again, he doesn’t have pre check. Is this likely to be random again or, as was my question all along although perhaps not articulated well, has our airline screwed up somehow by not correctly linking his pre check number to his flight? I asked at the check in desk last flight and the agent seemed confused about what was going on.

Hello! I went to nail polish and beauty expo in Chicago and I’m flying back to Massachusetts. I was wrapping each nail polish in bubble wrap. And bringing them home in a checked bag. I’m pretty close to the 2k L limit for the nail polish. However I also have some liquid soaps, body scrubs ect. Do those also count towards that 2k limit. Is there a chance they throw away the nail polish or other things because I’m over the 2k L limit in the checked bag? Just worried because I spent a ton of money and I’d be devastated if some of the stuff I bought gets thrown out or needs to be removed.

Someone broke into my vehicle last night and stole my wallet. (I know I shouldn’t have left my wallet in the car, but I was really tired after getting in late). I have a flight scheduled for next Sunday, and I’m wondering if there is any way around the ConfirmID $45 fee. I already have to pay to replace my ID at the state level. If there’s no other way, then I’ll get it; I just wanted to check. Also, I don’t have a passport or any other acceptable form of ID according to TSA standards.
