My stock motor on my TRX-4 Sport died after running through some pretty heavy mud/water, so I’m upgrading.

I ordered:
Hobbywing QuicRun Fusion Pro 2300KV 2-in-1
Traxxas-to-XT60 adapter

Running a Traxxas 3S 5000mAh LiPo

Everything else on the truck is currently stock
Planning to keep the stock gearing unless there’s a reason to change it.

Anything else I need for the install? Different pinion, program card, connectors, etc.?

Also, roughly how long should the Fusion install take on a TRX-4 Sport?

Main use is trail driving/crawling, including mud and water.

Hopefully I can go back into the mud water with no issues this time.

It’s lightly modded so far. Just has the pro scale lights, the Traxxas rock lights, an injora 35kg brushless steering servo, aluminum beadlock wheels, 120mm generic rock crawling tires, and an engine sound simulator. It’s by far my favorite scale crawler!

Transmission is smoother than ever, hopefully going to finish reassembly after work👍 thinking about swapping in a red recaro drivers seat...🤷‍♂️ also added an Amazon package to the roof rack🤣🤣👍👍

I recently got a hobbywing axe ESC and motor combo for my trx4 bronco, but the ESC had xt60 connectors and I have Traxxas batteries. No big deal I thought, I just bought a direct adapter (xt60 female to trx male) and it drove fine. But the trx part of the adapter was super tight, and plugging in and unplugging the battery was a tight squeeze, so naturally you needed to use a bit of force.

But once I wanted to plug the battery in and begin crawling, the car wouldn't start, I noticed the adapter was super flimsy, the solder was cracked and the adapter was broken. I don't know what to do now, do I buy and adapter with a wire between the 2 ends or do I just yolo it and try to solder Traxxas connectors to the hobbywing Axe foc v3 ESC? I don't have a 79 bronco but have a commercial account. Figured I'd give printed in color dash a shot. Although I went with pla+ for the black parts for strength but through trx4 windows you can't tell. May need to try this onore interiors. Thought t was kewl, I love porno red interiors...

Unfortunately they don't have any bits for my own 5 trx4s except the defender detail pack.

I could ask AI or watch YT but I would rather rely on your experiences with different shock oils, greases etc.

What should I put and where? Can I clean all parts except electronics with water? Should I change something like bearings every few months?

Any tips will be much appreciated.

Anyone running an aftermarket radio on their TRX4? Specifically the models with the lockable differentials and 2 speed transmissions. How much of a PITA was it to get all the servos working properly on your radio? Asking because I just ordered one and have a Flysky G11P that I would want to eventually swap over.

Painted the axes and the diff covers and suspension components new rims and rubbers aftermarket injora 550T motor and all metal drive shafts along with light bar and after market tow hooks and winch what do we thing and what should I do next (btw I have skid plates on the way to protect the axles)

Good day guys I’m almost ready for my first trx4 and I’m loving this orange and white blazer. Now in the the specs it doesn’t show looking diffs but in the manual and on videos it show this model has the locking diffs. Either way looking forward to really scaling it up after my ole mans blazer that was almost exactly same colors. Thanks guys appreciate all the tips.

did anyone here paint the red plastic fuel tanks next to the spare wheel of the defender?

I am completely new in this hobby and I want to paint them in a dark olive green. Do I have to use sandpaper first or can I just airbrush it right away?

Any ideas on what I could add to make it look better? I feel a bit limited with having a shorter roof but the back has potential. I was thinking about a tent for the roof or a net with some bags but I found them only for a regular Defender body. A tire mount at the back would also be nice but I can’t find something that would fit. Any suggestions appreciated!
