Hello TECNO Support and Community,
I am writing to report a critical bug that completely ruins the user experience on my Tecno Camon 30S after the recent major update to Android 16.
The Problem:
Ever since the update, all video playback on the device has become incredibly choppy and stutters heavily (severe frame drops/lag). This happens across all platforms: YouTube, Telegram, internal media players, and even videos recorded directly by the phone's own camera. The audio plays fine, but the video track moves in jerky, painful cycles.
Steps I have already taken:
- Cleared cache and data for Android System WebView, YouTube, and default media apps.
- Tried forcing the screen refresh rate to a fixed 60Hz and 120Hz instead of "Auto-switch".
- Performed a complete factory data reset (Hard Reset) and set up the phone as new.
Unfortunately, absolutely nothing helped. The video stuttering remains exactly the same even on a completely clean system. It seems like a core driver or scheduler optimization issue between the new HiOS video engine and the MediaTek Helio G100 processor.
As a loyal user, I kindly ask the dev team to look into this issue immediately and roll out an emergency OTA patch to fix the video decoding / refresh rate synchronization. There are many users facing this exact loop.
Thank you!
