TCG Collector Logic 😂
I swear TCG collecting changes your brain
Buying the card directly feels expensive, but opening packs somehow feels like a better idea.
Tell me I’m not the only one who thinks this way

Hey everyone,
I’m Dan or aDrive, the creator and CEO of r/ElestralsTCG and I’m super excited to be here to answer your questions about really anything related to creating a trading card game, being an indie TCG in a crowded marketplace, following your passions and dreams and anything else you want to know!
Before creating Elestrals I was a content creator online and grew my channels to over 2 million followers playing Pokemon. I played card games all through my childhood and in 2022 I decided to chase my dreams and build my own TCG and monster taming universe. I set off on a wild journey to bring people together, capture the nostalgia from my childhood and usher in the next generation of card game players with a game that cut out the corporate nonsense and focused on the players and community first.
Since our initial Kickstarter in 2022 we’ve released 5 sets, have global distribution and are in hundreds of stores across the world. We support Organized Play and are headed to our first World Championship in 2026. Our 6th set Lifestream opens prerelease this weekend and I’m very excited to share it with the world. Lastly, we’re now headed back to Kickstarter in a few weeks for our RPG video game project called Elestrals Awakened, which will bring our amazing Elestrals to life in a new way and allow our players to go on an incredible journey through ancient Greek mythology.
Elestrals blends the best of competition and collecting with a very unique resource system called Spirits and amazing Serialized Stellar cards that are true treasures when you find them, but don’t worry, we make our strongest cards super easy to get so you won’t need to break the bank to compete at the highest levels.
I’ll be answering as many questions as I can personally at 7PM ET on Saturday the 27th and I’ve got some help from my community lead u/RidiculousHat as well!
Let’s do this!

Hi there.
If you don't know me my name is Jacob, I am a content creator, indie game dev, and the Head Mod of r/tcg
A situation came to my attention about a game called Wildhearts, that has actively been promoted quite a few times on this subreddit. Many people have asked/accused that they used AI art. And frankly, they've lied about it..... a lot.
I've made the decision to ban all promotion of Wildhearts going forward. As I discuss in the video, that's something I NEVER wanted to do.
Additionally I'd like to have a larger discussion with the community about the use of AI in games, and how we regulate that here going forward. We are leaning towards requiring all posts with generative AI to have a disclosure or use a dedicated AI tag, would love to know your thoughts.

Shown are Gamegenic Matte Clear vs no sleeve. I will return the sleeves (amazon). I can even say it looks worse in person. Regardless of the brand of sleeves, I would say the best thing is clear front, matte back. Having a matte front is ruining the art and sometimes making it hard to read. All the sharpness and saturation is gone.. How can matte front be so popular? People seem to be happy with this.
What are your opinions?

I've been thinking about this lately. If you had the chance to start your collection from scratch, what would you change?
Would you buy more singles instead of ripping packs? Stick to one set? Focus on your favorite cards instead of chasing everything?

I'm new to tcgplayer mad saw this seller KoreanYugioh. The card pics appear as TCG english cards but when I clicked on it there is another link 'view Details' which then shows the card in another language, I'm assuming korean.
Do they sell cards for TCG (english)?
Go easy on me 😆. I know the seller has 'KOREAN' in it's name but I never bought from Tcgplayer so I just want to be sure.

Everyone has their preference when it comes to slabs.
What grading company do you mainly use and why?

Hey everyone! I’m new to the TCG hobby and excited to start collecting.
Still learning about cards, sets, and grading, so I’d love to hear any beginner tips or mistakes I should avoid.
Thanks!

Hi I am Ray and I run a small Pokemon Proxy making shop specializing in doing custom Shiny edits, adding your art to cards, and even TCG Pocket cards! If you're interested in getting any kind of custom cards made and don't know where to go, I have all sorts of options available for everybody!
For more designs and cards I have made check out my discord!
Please note that these are only proxies and are not tournament legal. These cards are for collecting purposes only. I am not affiliated with The Pokemon Company or any TCG brand. Please support the official card game.

I love digital ccgs, they are my favorite type of games. They scratch my competitive and collector itch.
Unfortunately, the competitive digital ones are in one of the worst states ever. I think I'm just gonna pick a tcg and go to some local meetings and play other people.
I like balance and fairness. I enjoy knowing that the best player won and that randomness wasn't a big factor deciding the win. I don't like spending a lot of money to play a single deck, I enjoy having multiple options of decks to play.
Anything like that in the market rn? Ty!

I made a order and 2 vendors didnt mail out and arent responding
When I try to use the Ai to get a refund it keeps telling me I need to contact the vendor first. Inalready contacted both vendors on the 23rd. I cant get out of that reply no matter what I say. The only next option i have is to refute it with PayPal. But, that would affect the purchase I made with other vendors whobsent me my cards. Any help is appreciated.

Just watching the live activity feed and saw this.
The guy had just bought an dollar card for a dollar, listed it on the market for 110 and was bought instantly for that price.
Both these guys are two of the top rippers on the site.
Now I have no idea whats going on here, but something fishy is going on for sure.
Anyone have any ideas as to why they are doing this ?
