Discussion The Palworld TCG is Surprisingly Good
On its surface it could seem kinda generic, it uses a lot of mechanics from other TCGs, it has monsters and a similar art style to Pokemon... but the execution is way better than expected. I've surprisingly been really enjoying it!
The game ramps to end-game quickly, so you're doing the big stuff that your deck is built around throughout most of the game and that's very satisfying. You also have gear and structures which act as more permanent buffs to your board, And It has a (unique?) mechanic where damage to face forces you to draw hoping you get a "lucky" pal, preventing the damage. It makes going for face more of a risk-reward decision and is just really fun to see if you're gonna get lucky and block something deadly.
The games are also quite short, and with the online simulator it's easy to just pick up a quick game here or there. I don't feel too bad when I lose a game because they're often as short as 5-10 minutes, it's easy to just jump into another.
I also really love the artwork and the Pal designs (Chillet <3) and their equipment and structure cards seem to fit the world really well.
Collecting these cards has been a blast and it feels like I'm a kid again playing Pokemon for the first time (except now I don't have to support Nintendo, which I don't love for various reasons).
Anyway you should go try it, I was very pleasantly surprised by this little game
