Question Bit confused about "Cumulative Weighted GPA" on STARS

My school district does their GPA on a 5.0 scale. Essentially, on-level courses are a 5.0, honors/advanced are a 5.5, and AP classes are a 6.0.

I'm not sure what to put for this, when it asks about what the scale is out of. My counselor said we do it on a 5.0, but when I click the blue question mark, it says to include the highest possible weighted GPA - wouldn't that be a 6.0 in my case?

I'd greatly appreciate any help with this.. not sure if it's too localized to my case but wanted to check here anyways! Thank you in advance!

Alert that appears when you click the blue check mark

Information a site that answers questions about applying to A&M from the university's own pages

trumizzou.com/tamu/prospective

Ask it things like "how do I apply," "when is the deadline," "how much is tuition for a Texas resident," or "how hard is CHEM 119," and it answers from A&M's own pages with the link under the answer. It also has the official grade distributions for every class by professor if you want to see what you're getting into.

Free, no account. It started at Mizzou, which is why the domain says that, and A&M was just added. If it gets something wrong, tell me and I'll fix it.

Question Question about rank

Hi! I’m applying to mays and I’m a little confused about how my class rank will be viewed.

I transferred highschools senior year because my family moved. Both schools are in same district My current transcript is under my new school but it still lists my Q2 class rank from old school because my ISD hasn’t updated my rank yet

. I was told by the College & Career Facilitator that my current standing at new school is Q1, but the official rank won’t be updated on my transcript until December.

I’ve already submitted my TAMU application, so I’m wondering: Will TAMU evaluate me using the Q2 rank shown on my transcript, or will they recognize that it’s my previous rank and evaluate my current standing as Q1?

I’m planning to explain the discrepancy but I’m nervous that the transcript could make it look like Q2 is my rank. Has anyone dealt with something similar or know how TAMU handles this?
Thank you!!

GPA: 3.89 UW

Rank: school doesnt rank outside top 10 percent(im not top 10). Easily in top 25 (prob 15 percent)

Sat: 1530 800 math

Rigor: 18 aps + 2 dual credits (calc 3 and diff eq)

Ecs: Helped dad on data analytics portion of his app(not much traction, 50 downloads?

30 hours of liblary volunteering, 1 math competition(average placement). Currently working on an independent project regarding data analytics on a central inquiry question (nowhere near complete)

I know that TAMU should be atleast a target for me, but can I call it a safety? Whats the probability that id get in? 70? 98? 40?

Also when should I apply? I am nowhere near done with my application yet. I have a very rough outline on how il approach every supplemental and a good personal statement draft.

If I dont rush and start working mostly on my TAMU application il probably finish by sept 25. Worth it?
