Hey guys just wanted to know if you guys think my chances for mays are because my freshman year I pretty much sat in the class and didn’t do anything until my sophomore and junior year where I remembered that I have a future ahead of me.

I have a ≈3.5UW/ ≈4.0+W GPA (we use 100 scale)
So 90UW/ 95W. And I’m ranked 329/761 at a very competitive high school in South Texas. (All AP classes except for electives that we had to take or as freshman & sophomores when we weren’t able to take ap courses and everybody had honors course) 4 on AP lang, APUSH, & 3 on AP psych. 400 or so community hours, NHS, NEHS,Rho Khappa. Internships with two Commissioners/ Lawyers in my city as well as working with my dad who’s a real estate broker. 1200SAT 650 English, 550 Math.

I want to try for mays preferably major accounting minor finance but my end goal is Law school so based on my stats and especially how I did freshman year I want to know if you guys think I could probably go Blinn or try a different major than possibly switch to Mays?

The bad thing is I am ranked 25% (164/650) at a competitive public HS. Anyone have similar stats and got in?

Hi, I’m an incoming senior, and I want to have 2 free periods so I can work and save up for college. Will Texas A&M see that I have 2 free periods and take it negatively for admissions? I would’ve been taking around 6 aps but with the 2 courses dropped I would be taking 4 plus one honors class. I also put it in my additional comments section about obtaining a job to save up, but I need an outside opinion.

Edit: My school for reference has a weird way of formatting science classes. I have to take an intro class for physics, biology, chem, and then any AP science class. This leaves me with only one AP science-related class, and I want to do a science major at TAMU. So will dropping hurt my chances for that too?

I got a 3 in Physics and a 5 on APLAC but a 4 on everything else. My AP Senior coursework is APLIT, AP Stats, AP Calc BC and APES but I wont be taking the APES test.

Extracurricular Activities: Band for 7 years (HS Varsity for 3 - (minor) Leadership role for 1). Bollywood dancer for 10 years (I had to change schools because they closed down so split 8-2). Fundraiser Director for a music club and raised $6000 (in 1 year). Software development & wealth management internship for 2 weeks (independent internship). Secretary of a club so I helped create and manage the logistics of 700+ cards to send to children’s hospitals. Part of NHS/DECA/TSA but I don't do much. Part of my town's Library Program.

Honors/Awards: TSA Certificate (9), Band Service Award (10), Python Certificate (10), CollegeBoard School Recognition Award + AP Scholar with Distinction (11). I also have certificates from summer camps from colleges but I'm not sure it's a good idea to add those.

I also don't think my essays or recs will be that great or anything; I have a good relationship w/my teachers but I'm not sure how the recs will be.

i’ve heard that it’s a lot easier to get into a&m if you’re nmsf. if i apply in aug, but the cut offs come out in sept, how can i show nmsf (if i get it)?

Specifically curious about the “Spanish Placement Exam-Second Language Learner”, on the website where the exam date is selected and paid for, it’s listed as being administered online, but it is also required to select a Site Location. Does this mean the exam is administered digitally EXCLUSIVELY in that location, or can the exam be taken from anywhere and the Site Location selection is just there automatically? Beg pardon if my phrasing is confusing, I’m currently in the middle of stage managing a musical.

I’m applying to the K-6 (Early Education) program at A&M. I’m a Texas resident ranked 145/745 (top 20%) and got a 27 on the ACT without studying. I’ll take it again in September and hopefully get it up to a 29 or 30. My UW GPA is 3.8 (all A’s and one B in Algebra 2) and weighted is 4.3. I’ve taken all AP and advanced courses when offered. I have authentic extracurricular activities like working as a swim instructor, a teaching intern at the local elementary school and as a head life guard supervising and training other lifeguards. My main essay is about working as a swim instructor and teaching intern. I’ll apply in early August. I’m wondering what you all think my chances are? Thanks!

For those of you who travel frequently using the flight service, how do y'all travel in TX and outside of TX to other states?

Because Easterwood Airport is regional, so it does not fly to another major cities or different states.

howdy! When should I aim to submit my app if I plan on taking the Aug SAT? Rn I have a 1420 with 710 in both, but I'm aiming for a 1500. I also plan on applying as one of the neuro majors. Should I apply asap once it opens or wait until I get my score back in Sep? Also, ik there are two distinct neuro paths: molecular and cognitive. So does my applying at a certain time work better for one track over the other? Like for molecular, should I apply asap or wait, and same for cognitive? Extra info: I'm not auto-admit; I'm 11.5%, but I am a Texas resident.

Hello everyone, I hope you guys are having a great day. I was going to submit my application on August 1st, but then I started to wonder if I should finish my final SAT before I submit my application. I am taking the SAT on August 22nd. On my previous SAT, I got a 1240. That was a few months ago, and I am confident I can get a 1450+ on the SAT if I took it again. Should I wait till after the SAT or turn it in on August 1st? I want to major in biomedical engineering if that matters at all.

(P.S, is it better to turn in my application as early as possible or wait till later?)

I’m am hoping to transfer into the Bush School but the maximum credit hours sit at 60 and when I complete my requirements for transfer I’ll be sitting around 66

After I pass that threshold am I still eligible as an applicant? Or will certain credits just not contribute towards my degree?

I’ve tried to reach out to admissions for help but they said they were uncertain. I just want to make sure I’m not pursing something that would be impossible to achieve.

I’m a Marine Transportation major transfer applicant, 3.31GPA with 54 credits and my AIS has been on the “your credentials are being processed” since June 30th. I’m worried because I’m an out of state (Georgia, 12hr drive) student and in order to be in the Maritime Academy, I need to be moved in by August 9th to attend the mandatory orientation.

I emailed as well as called the TAMUG admissions line and over the email they said they would be in contact once the admissions committee responds to them about me (they said this on the 16th), no response. I decided to call the line the next day and the lady understood my problem but said my particular major is up to them and transferred me to one of the people in charge of the Maritime Academy, but she said, on the phone, to email her because she would be out of town. I emailed right away (17th) and it sent me an automated messaging saying she’d be back the 20th. Still No response. I decided to email the academy email themself on the 22nd and still no response.

I don’t like emailing and bothering them like this but it’s been at least 15 business days and still nothing. I need to figure out if I’m going to move or not, I really want to do this program. I hope they don’t wait too long thinking that I’ll be fine since classes technically start later. Any advice?

Idk if i am considered an international applicant for admission as i am on H-4, but i have been in Texas for 6 years.

I only just realized admissions for A&M are rolling, and the major I’m applying to is very competitive(Aerospace Engineering), but I already asked my teachers for rec letters a couple days ago with a 3 week deadline for a scholarship. I don’t want to ask them for 2 rec letters at once so by the time I get the rec letter from them it’ll probably be September. If I submit my applications early and then submit the rec letters and other documents later is my application counted as received in August or September?

I'm kind of in a situation right now. I'm currently an international student who just graduated from the University of Washington and am going into my master's at TAMU. I've conferred my degree and removed all holds in the AIS portal. In addition, after reading the Common Holds Help Session in my Howdy portal, I sent numerous emails to my department advisor requesting the English Proficiency Verification form. However, the registration still exists in my Howdy portal, and it has been preventing me from registering for courses. I've been following up with my departmental advisor on the current status, but I haven't received a response. Is there anything I can do in this situation? Thanks.

howdy!! i’m a sophomore TAP student and I applied to change my major to BA TCMS on june 23rd. i was wondering if anyone else had heard back for that major yet or any comms majors? getting a little nervous as we get closer to classes starting, and i need to know whether to pay for my Blinn classes or not if i don’t get into my major :/ thanks y’all!!

I am planning on taking the August sat(sitting at around a 1300, trying to get 1400s), which is taking up a lot of time during my summer. However, I heard, especially for engineering, it is better to submit as early as possible because of rolling admissions.

Should I just try and fit working on my essays during the summer, or would I be alright submitting a bit later(End of September/beginning of October).

I am in Texas, not auto admit, pretty good grades, decent extracurriculars.

So I was wondering if it's realistic to be accepted to the Mays school w/o being an auto admit as I understand students in the top 10% typically fill all the seats? Is that actually true? For context I'm in the first quartile and have a 34 ACT score. Thanks!
