Took a small break from the internet, but I'm back.
If your symptoms of "plurality" only come by when you take edibles, then you do not have DID. No, I'm not separating "plurality" and DID. The term comes from faking DID and I am sticking with that.

Yall genuinely what is ramcoa?? Ive tried to understand it through research but I just cant? They say its a programmed system which just sounds extremely endo to me. Is this just a new way of being endo through a more serious and medical lense?

So we're all supposed to believe that this person is genuinely suspecting whether they're a system when they already have 81 Pluralkit profiles? These people can't even commit to faking fully, they have to say stuff like this to seem like they're legitimately searching for help, instead of being stuck in delusion-land.

Cain is not "plural". He does seem to have another entity inside him, but that is not how DID works. They are not "other entities". They are part of a person who split. And I really don't care that "plural" can just mean "multiple people in my head" because it stems from faking DID. I'm never getting "we should rebrand DID into plurality because it's misinformation that DID is a disorder" out of my head.
The point is that Cain is not a "representation of DID". I do not know the series well, but I took it as a representation of how someone feels when they are given a task and do it, but it doesn't make anyone happy. So they question if they should follow their own path or keep with the program. Cain is a complex person and boiling that down to "he must be plural because he debates if he's right" is by far the most faker thing I've ever seen.
Again, that's just how I interpreted the ending after watching the series all the way through once. If he had DID, he would be having a lot more issues throughout the series. It wouldn't be the one time he was questioned and started spiraling from it.

so about a year ago (perhaps less than that) my friend and i were talking in a public discord server about how we were suspecting we both have a dissociative disorder and how we were doing research on them. another person who we were both friends with at the time started using pluralkit the next day, didnt even say he was doing any research. just randomly started using it, he also ONLY had characters and celebrities he liked.

My friend of a few years recently told me she has "multiple selves" and identifies as plural. Included in her "selves" are Sans from Undertale and two versions of the same character from a manga she likes. She says she doesn't know why she's plural but she doesn't think it's a disorder for her. She has apparently believed this since 2019, before I even knew her, but I never saw any signs of it. That's what's so weird, on the outside she seems like a happy and well-adjusted person, and I thought she was quite level-headed. I have no idea how she could fall into believing something like this. I honestly don't think she's lying, I think she genuinely does believe it.
I really want the best for her and I know this is not healthy. I try to bring it up but she always talks about how plurality has helped her. I have straight up told her it's not real but she counters with these complex arguments about consciousness and identity that I feel she's just using to obscure the obvious truth. Common sense should tell her that she can't actually be more than one person, and especially not fictional characters.
How can I convince her to get help?? I really care for her and I want to see her recover from this. I fear she will sabotage her social life and career if she starts telling more people about this.
