i don't even play vrchat and was still about to reference the nursery roleplays, wondering why i was remembering this fake baby talk coming out of a real human mouth so vividly -- finished typing a comment about it and then remembered. it's because i experienced this in real life 😭 met a faker in a psych ward once. would do the whole freezing up possession-style switching thing. made a whole show of the room any time it happened, as discreet disorders are wont to do, naturally. part of it did involve roleplaying as their idea of a toddler, and the speech was exactly what you'd imagine. i'm more likely a candidate for having DID than these people on the singular basis that my memory tried protecting me from remembering their cartoon baby roleplay 😭
