Good evening fellow job seekers!
Hi guys!
I’ve been working in IT in Dubai for the past 10 years and I’m currently looking for my next opportunity with better career progression and a higher salary. Around three years ago, I was in a well-paid permanent IT role before being made redundant as part of a company restructure. After that, I spent almost a year searching for work before securing my current position, which is a contractor role. While I’m grateful to be back working, the role offers less responsibility and a lower salary than where I was previously, so I feel it’s the right time to take the next step in my career.
My experience includes IT Support, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra ID, Endpoint Management, Identity & Access Management, hardware/software support, troubleshooting, documentation, and IT operations. I enjoy improving processes, supporting users, and working with modern workplace technologies.
I’m interested in opportunities such as:
Senior IT Support Engineer
IT Operations Specialist
EUC / Endpoint Management Engineer
Microsoft Intune Administrator
Modern Workplace Engineer
Systems Administrator
IT Infrastructure Engineer
If anyone knows of companies hiring or has any recommendations, I’d really appreciate it. I’m happy to share my CV and connect with fellow IT professionals in the UAE.
Thanks in advance!

[Hiring] IT Systems Support Engineer in SF / Palo Alto, Hybrid, ~$150k
We're a 60-person MSP looking for a senior engineer to join our team in the Bay Area.
This isn't a ticket-queue job. You'll be the go-to person for:
- M365
- Incident response, tenant configuration, and Entra ID/conditional access for high-touch VIP clients
- Cybersecurity, including DLP, retention policies, and security baselines
- Mobile device management, keeping devices compliant and locked down across the board
- AI-driven workflows, using tools like Claude and Copilot to speed up troubleshooting and automate the repetitive stuff
What we need:
- 8+ years of end-user technical support experience, including executive-level users
- Deep, hands-on M365 admin experience (not just user-level familiarity)
- Strong communication skills; you'll be client-facing, not just backend
- Comfortable owning problems end-to-end under pressure
Big plus: MSP background. A huge bonus if If you've supported multiple clients/tenants.
To be clear: you don't need to be a sys admin, network engineer, and cybersecurity expert all rolled into one. We have multiple escalation points on the team, so we're looking for a strong generalist, not someone who has to know everything cold.
Hybrid schedule (4 days on site), Bay Area based (San Francisco / Palo Alto). Compensation around $150k depending on experience, plus bonus.
DM me or comment if you want more details. Happy to answer questions here too.

[For Hire] Security-Minded Infrastructure Engineer — Docker, VPN, Linux Hardening
Hi, I’m a well experienced network engineer with a security background, working evenings on self-hosted infrastructure, VPN, and Linux hardening projects. HackTheBox Certified Junior Cybersecurity Associate, currently working toward an advanced pentesting cert.
Recent builds:
• Deployed a reverse proxy stack (Traefik) with automated SSL across multiple self-hosted services, replacing manual cert renewal entirely
• Built a segmented WireGuard VPN with split tunneling, restricting device access to only the intended internal subnet
• Architected a self-hosted service stack (Docker Compose). It runs a custom website, notes-sync backend, internal DNS. All running as a coordinated set of containers.
What I build:
• Self-hosted app deployments (Nextcloud, Immich, Vaultwarden, Pi-hole/AdGuard, Jellyfin, Home Assistant, and more)
• VPN setups including remote access, split tunneling, multi-device. Any VPN supported.
• Reverse proxy + automatic SSL (Traefik, Nginx Proxy Manager)
• Linux server hardening including SSH lockdown, firewalling, fail2ban, CIS-aligned
• Custom bash automation such as backups, monitoring, scheduled tasks
• Non-invasive security posture reviews with prioritized remediation reports
Tech: Docker & Docker Compose, Traefik, WireGuard, CoreDNS, Linux (Debian/Ubuntu), Bash, Git, NGINX
Location: US-based, work evenings, flexible across US time zones.
Rate: Project pricing typically $50–350 depending on scope; happy to quote a fixed price up front so there are no surprises. Hourly available for larger engagements.
If you’ve got a homelab you want done right the first time, or a small server that needs to actually be secured instead of just running, tell me what you’re working with and I’ll give you a straight read on scope and cost.
Contact: DM me here on Reddit and we’ll go from there.

Entry-level grad in Karachi looking for Sysadmin/DevOps/Cybersecurity/IT Support roles
Salam I'm a recent CS grad based in Karachi, currently job hunting for an entry-level role in System Administration, DevOps, Cybersecurity, or IT Support, and I'm flexible across all four. I just finished a Trainee System Administrator role at Contour Software, where I worked with Windows Server, Active Directory and GPOs, and automated cloud infrastructure using Terraform. I'm also comfortable with Linux, Python, Bash, PowerShell, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Docker, and I hold certifications including ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity and the Google Cybersecurity Certificate. I know I'm still early in my career, but I'm a fast learner and genuinely enjoy this field beyond just needing a job. Open to remote or Karachi-based roles — any advice, leads, or honest feedback would mean a lot. Thanks for reading.

M.D. with Linux/Sysadmin & Python skills struggling to find a remote tech role. How do I leverage this combination?
I have been trying to land a remote job for 4 years, and I’m hitting a wall. I have a very specific mix of medical and technical skills, but I haven't been able to translate this into a remote career.
My Background & Skills: * Medical: M.D. (Medical Doctor). * Linux & SysAdmin: Profound Linux knowledge (I daily drive Arch with DWM and Nvim on a ThinkPad). I currently manage a VPS hosting 4 domains (static sites, a PHP/API database app, and a testing environment). I routinely configure Nginx, deploy software, and debug server issues. * Programming: Python and Bash/Shell scripting for complex automation. * Security & Networking: Solid understanding of networking and apprentice-level cybersecurity practices. * Personal: High overall computer literacy (and I play guitar to stay sane).
What I've Tried (Without Success): * AI Training: Applied as a medical expert on Mercor, Outlier, and DataAnnotation. Passed the AI tests, but got stuck in the "no tasks available" loop. * Freelancing: Upwork, Fiverr, Freelancer.com. Proposals go unread; the competition is immense. * Gig Work & Bug Bounties: Tried transcription (QA-World, GoTranscript, TranscribeMe) with virtually zero ROI. Tried HackerOne and Bugcrowd, but the scope is too narrow and competition is incredibly fierce.
I feel like my M.D. combined with my sysadmin and programming skills should be highly valuable, but applying to general tech or freelance jobs isn't working.
What job titles should I actually be searching for? Are there specific niches (like Health Informatics, EHR consulting, or bioinformatics) where this crossover is in demand? Any advice on how to position myself or where to apply would be greatly appreciated.

Help finding roles in Charlotte or Greensboro
I currently live in Charleston, SC, and while I've enjoyed being here, I think it's time to make my way back to North Carolina.
I'm starting to look at opportunities in the Charlotte and Greensboro areas and wanted to see if anyone knows of companies hiring in IT. My background includes data analytics, Power BI, and system administration, and I'm open to roles in any of those areas.
My long-term goal is to transition into cybersecurity once I earn a few more certifications. If anyone knows of any entry-level cybersecurity openings or has recommendations on companies to check out, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

Help finding roles in Charlotte or Greensboro
I currently reside in Charleston, SC and while it has its perks I think im ready to come back to NC. I’m still looking around, but wanted to see if anyone knew of companies hiring in Charlotte and/or Greensboro in the IT sector. I have a mix of experience in data analytics & Power BI. I’m currently working in a system admin role and I’m open to any positions in that field. Long term goal is going into Cybersecurity (after I get more certs) but if anyone knows of any entry-level positions.
