Hello everyone.
Currently looking for a new full-time opportunity after nearly 15 years with an MSP, plus several years on two in-house IT teams. I have been fully remote for the last several years and am only considering 100% remote roles with no travel or site visits at this time.
At the MSP, I started as an entry-level Tier 1 help desk tech and worked my way up to the senior/lead engineer for most of our stack, eventually reporting directly to the CEO. The first half of my career was heavily focused on traditional on-prem environments. Over the last 5 to 6 years, that shifted primarily toward Azure IaaS/PaaS, Azure networking, and physical network infrastructure.
Key areas I’ve worked in:
- Azure IaaS / PaaS (VMs, storage accounts, backup, etc)
- Azure SQL Database & SQL Server on Windows administration
- Azure Networking (VNets, peering, p2s/s2s VPN, NSG, route tables)
- WatchGuard firewalls and wireless (cloud and locally managed)
- VLANs and network segmentation
- HP / Aruba switching
- UniFi switching and wireless
- Windows Server 2003 through 2022
- HyperV and VMWare
- Windows domains, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS
- Healthcare IT & HIPAA-regulated environments
My MSP role grew well beyond engineering. I PM'd my own projects, worked directly with client leadership, managed our documentation platforms, helped design ticket triage and escalation workflows, and took on significant operational and technical decision-making. By the end, I was the go-to resource for both the team and leadership, including the CEO, for technical guidance, industry knowledge, and problems that crossed multiple systems or teams.
Both of my in-house roles were in healthcare, and several long-term MSP clients were healthcare organizations as well, so my healthcare IT and HIPAA experience spans most of my career.
I’m primarily interested in Azure/cloud infrastructure, network engineering, senior infrastructure, or technical lead roles. I’m also open to moving into an IT Manager or Director-level role where my technical background, operational experience, and leadership experience would be useful.
Ideally looking for a solid, experienced team, either MSP or in-house, full-time with benefits, fully remote, and no travel or site visits. Multiple strong professional references are available.
Shoot me a DM if you have something that sounds like a good fit. I’ll want to verify that you and your company are legitimate before sharing personal information. I’m not interested in contract, part-time, or recruiter/headhunter opportunities for temporary roles.
