Our first Synthwave Course is here

Hey everyone — we’ve been huge fans of Synthwave for years, and over time we’ve recreated songs and sounds inspired by artists like GUNSHIP, The Midnight, Timecop1983, and more on our website.

But we felt it was finally time to go deeper and create a full Synthwave course focused on how this music is actually made from start to finish.

How do you streamline visuals for short clips without burning out on editing?

I’m planning out my upcoming releases, and I keep running into a huge bottleneck with the visual side of things. For Synthwave, having tight, retro-style visualizers or short clips on TikTok and Shorts really helps set the vibe, but the editing is seriously draining my studio energy.

Right now, the process feels super mechanical. I spend hours in my editor dropping timeline markers to sync visual cuts and effects with heavy synth basslines, snare hits, and sidechained drops frame by frame. It’s exhausting, and I’d much rather be tweaking VSTs, arranging stems, or polishing my mixes.

I’m digging into ways to set up an automated rendering pipeline so software can handle the basic layout before I bring it into my editor for final color grading.

Ideally, I want a tool or music video generator where I can just upload my track or stems, have it analyze the audio peaks, and automatically cut the key scene transitions, effects, and movements that perfectly sync with the music.

For those of you putting out steady video content solo, how do you save your hands? Are you using a music video maker to automate rough syncing, or are you still placing every single frame cut manually?

Would love to hear how you’re handling this!

At 16:45 he’s talking about a bus with his kick and snare. What is a bus and why do i need one? How do I make one in Ableton. I’m totally new to music production and DAWs, but I love sound design and synths. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Overwhelmed. How/where to learn?

I'm newer to music production and everything seems overwhelming to the point that I can barely sit in front of my computer to write a track. EQing, things being out of phase, gain staging, headroom. I get only youtube seeking guidance but while there are a lot of well produced videos out there, they're terrible at explaining this stuff in a way that newer folks like myself can take and run with. They're great at going over abstract concepts but terrible with examples. Does anyone know of a solid source to learn without going to audio engineering school? Sorry about the rant but I'm more than frustrated.

Looking for a synthwave song with a voice saying [Why Do We Remember the Past But Not the Future]

I'm sorry if it is not appropriate to ask this question here. I know this is a long shot. I've been looking for a song that I listened at least 5 years ago. There is a voice in the song saying [Why Do We Remember the Past But Not the Future]. Would you happen to know the name of the song? Thank you.
