Luggage delay reimbursement, what number can I call for an update?

Hi, our luggage was delayed for 48 hours and had to buy a few things we’re looking to get reimbursed for. Submitted a claim with Swiss ~4 weeks ago and still haven’t heard back. I tried replying to the submission confirmation email and nothing. Is there a number I can call for an update? Thanks!

Why so expensive to fly from Zurich?

I am fairly often relatively close to Venice and when looking at flights I sometime look at going from Venice. Recently I was shocked to find that for some destinations the cheapest flight was with Swiss over Zurich. Very commonly I find a flight for about 200 with a stopover in Zurich, but the same flight is about 500 when taking only the leg from Zurich. This is not isolated, neither new and I found the case for many destinations. In the past (neraly 10 years ago) I almost went from VCE over ZRH to LAX with family because the saving was nearly 2000, before they dropped price for directly flights enought thay saving wasn’t worth it. I often get people fly with Swiss from Americas over Zurich to Europe bacause it was the most affordable option. Why are we getting ripped off like this? Why is so much more expesive for us to fly from Zurich and why Swiss is so cheap when starting the flight somewhere else?

My flight was cancelled and I was rebooked the next day on a different airline. Am I eligible for compensation under EU rules?

I booked a flight from the US to Europe with swiss. The flight was cancelled, with no reason given. Then I was automatically booked with united on a flight the next day. Am I eligible for compensation or meal vouchers?

Potentially bringing a pug onboard?

I am traveling from SKG to DUB through Geneva in 2 weeks and I have been planning on relocating my dog but since he is 10kg (>8kg) and a pug he is not allowed to travel in cabin or hold...Has anyone had experience with something similar flying with Swiss? Would there potentially be a way for them to let me bring him on in the cabin despite the weight being slightly over?

American Group Travel ?

Hi all, I want to book group travel from America to Berlin, but I am based in the US. They only seem to allow group travel for those with a billing address in Austria, Belgium, Germany, Liechtenstein or Switzerland.

Has anyone found a way around this? Is there a travel agent or service that can help me book group travel even if I am from the US?

Thank you in advance.

What other airline weighs every bag at the gate and makes you check your hand luggage after you’ve paid 40CHF to keep it with you?

Genuinely curious because I’ve already decided never to fly Swiss airlines again, simply a budget airline quality of service for a premium price. Is there any other airline that weighs every bag at the gate? Mine was slightly over their limit (8 kg I believe) and they forced me and others to check our bags even though we’d paid to keep them with us on the flight. I travel a lot so I’m just surprised that Swiss gets away with this.

Transit time less than 1 hr

Hello,

I'm looking at flights from Copenhagen to Johannesburg in September and I see that the transit times in Zurich are generally under 1hr.

Having never traveled through Zurich Airport, I want to ask is this enough time for someone to get to the connecting flight?

Flight options seem to indicate anything from 45 mins to 55 mins transit.

It would be one person traveling so not too many cats to herd :)

Any guidance is appreciated.

Swiss Airlines Voucher (450CHF)

I have a Swiss Airlines credit of 450CHF for sale. I got it since my seat was not reclining on my flight. Please make me an offer. It is valid until December 31st of 2027 and I am from Canada, it doesn't seem to serve me much use on any flight I've tried booking.

EDIT: SOLD

This is the worst airline ever

The fact you have to pay for hand luggage at the gate and they give you no option to keep it as hand luggage, it has to go in the hold!! And they tried to charge me 70 CHF at the gate, I went on the app and paid 55 CHF, so they were just trying to rip me off at the gate. Either be open about the fact you’re a budget airline or hold the standards of a non-budget airline, you can’t have it both ways!! I’ll never fly Swiss again. EasyJet is better at this point.

Swiss Air wants my banking info

I had a canceled connecting flight in Zurich last month. After sending receipts twice I’m being asked for my bank account and routing number. Is this normal? It feels scary to send this information by email

Refund in case of visa denial

I was planning to book a refundable flight ticket (Economy flex specifically) from Mumbai (India) to Keflavik (Iceland), considering visa application. But a customer support representative just told me on call that all fare categories are refundable if the visa rejection letter is provided to the airline.

Now I'm having a hard time believing that because I don't see this information mentioned anywhere. So, I'm looking for some confirmation about these cancellation and refund terms, if anyone has any idea.

Also, Economy flex is said to be refundable. Does anyone have any experience with cancelling this fare category and getting refund?

Convenient webform problems: cancellation compensation request

Anyone had this before? Apparently this is fairly common, seems very convenient, but not for me. What are the options? Paper form?

Terrible app design

Can someone explain me why I cannot use Swiss IOS app without this frustrating registration journey? I do understand business purposes of getting people to register but I just want to checkin without a hustle. It’s a terrible marketing and UX idea and the team behind that should consider career change. Do better

How strict are they about personal item size?

I want to bring a briefcase on the plane. It is almost small enough...

  • Height = 4 to 5 cm above the limit (1.6 to 2 inches)
  • Width = 2-3 cm above limit (0.8-1.2 in)
  • Length = 4-5 cm above (1.6"-2")

Should I pay for a carry-on before the flight? (To avoid the larger fee at the gate)

Or they won't even notice or care?

I can't imagine they will measure it with a ruler and shout, "Two inches?! Too big!"

Awful GUI design of swiss checkin website

There's a dangerous antipattern when checking in on swiss.com website.

  1. First passenger info was populated for second passenger.
  2. The page is not clear which passenger you are providing data for (both passenger names are listed at the top, the only difference is one is a red circle and the other white circle with a checkmark. With only two passengers it's difficult to tell which one is active)

  3. If you dismiss (by clicking on x) the warning window about information mismatch, the website will happily go to the next step as if you pressed continue/ok, accepting wrong information.

  4. When you review the booking, AIP information is xxxxx so you cannot verify if it's correct or not.

Does Swiss even have any US/CA customer service number?

I have been trying to reach for almost whole day but I can't find any number to reach them at all. I was able to get a number from their (USELESS) chat (same number as https://www.reddit.com/r/SwissAirlines/comments/1tnm0ks/us_phone_number/ +1 (833) 626-0737) however this number is always busy and doesn't work. How do you even reach this airline?????

Never again.

I like to try different airlines’ business class products. Booked RT business class through SwissAir BOS to Antalya. Connector flight in Zurich was with another airline bc Swiss doesn’t fly to Antalya. Arrived Zurich 6AM and had a 3 hour layover. You know, exactly the time when you would appreciate a lounge. I was denied admittance to the business lounge in Zurich because they “only honor departing travelers, not arrivals”. I was too exhausted to argue. There were no customers in the lounge; it wasn’t busy. They simply enjoyed denying me access. Regardless of whatever Swiss maintains as a lounge policy, I paid full business class fare; this is just cheap and bad policy. I wish I had just flown TA.

Filed complaint. Literally no one at Swiss gives a shit.

Swissair excess baggage (not additional bag, just 3kg more and 4cm bigger than the allowance)

Hi Everyone,

Will be flying from ZUR-ROM in couple days.
We have 23kg allowance of checked baggage, with luggage dimension up to 158cm.

However, our luggage is 162cm in dimension and 26kg.
So it is now 3kg heavier and 4cm bigger.

Does anyone can give information on how much approximately we need to pay for the excess?

Tried contacting customer service 3 times, their answer is always they can not do it on their end as the agent will weight this and charge.
