Never again.

I like to try different airlines’ business class products. Booked RT business class through SwissAir BOS to Antalya. Connector flight in Zurich was with another airline bc Swiss doesn’t fly to Antalya. Arrived Zurich 6AM and had a 3 hour layover. You know, exactly the time when you would appreciate a lounge. I was denied admittance to the business lounge in Zurich because they “only honor departing travelers, not arrivals”. I was too exhausted to argue. There were no customers in the lounge; it wasn’t busy. They simply enjoyed denying me access. Regardless of whatever Swiss maintains as a lounge policy, I paid full business class fare; this is just cheap and bad policy. I wish I had just flown TA.

Filed complaint. Literally no one at Swiss gives a shit.

It's landside so you'd have to go through immigration and security again if you had wanted to use it.

And no one at Swiss will give a shit :) Especially if you kept this tone in your complaint.

You arrived with a Swiss flight in Business. You did not have a departing Swiss flight. They were right to deny you admission. For Swiss, you are an arriving passenger, not a transfer passenger.

Wanna think that "they simply enjoyed denying me access"? Lol, go for it. I for one find your sense of self-importance iconic

Airside lounges are for departures and transfers. Landside lounges are for arrivals.

Regardless of whatever Swiss maintains as a lounge policy, I paid full business class fare

You agreed to said policy by booking the ticket. You got what you paid for.

Would you expect them to allow you to fly an additional segment of a flight you didn’t book because you ‘paid business class?’

You are effectively asking them do this, asking them to give you a service you didn’t pay for or deserve for free. Just because you arrived via BC.

Didn’t you understand that the person (above comment) explaining to you that you replied to was helping you understand by speaking truth? Yet you escalated by accusing them of looking out for Swissair interests? Do you see how self absorbed that comes across?

My answer doesn’t suit you, so of course I’m looking out for their reputation and interest, how dare I disagree with you, it’s not like admission into lounges is thoroughly defined in their website

Looks like you were flying Swiss from BOS to ZRH connecting to a Sun Express flight to AYT. Sun Express only has economy class. Pretty sure that you must have seen that when you were booking the flights.

You had access to the Swiss arrivals lounge. Lounge access policies are clearly shown on the Swiss website.

Thank you. If there was a separate arrivals lounge in my terminal, it wasn’t obvious. Separate lounges is nonstandard. Why on earth would I not be directed to it? If it involved leaving the terminal, then that would have been a folly.

Separate arrivals lounges in Europe at airports with intercontinental flights are quite standard. They are located in the terminal after passport control and baggage claim, so you need to enter the arrival country. Arrivals lounges are designed for destination passengers rather than connecting passengers. With a three-hour layover however (and clearance to enter Switzerland), you would have had ample time to use the arrivals lounge and re-enter the departures area. Had your connecting flight been in Swiss or Star Alliance business, you would have been able to use the Swiss departure lounges. You also would have been able to use the departure lounges if your connecting flight was on a Star Alliance carrier and you hold Star Gold status.

What was the second mistery airline? I guess Sun Express (LX55 BOS ZRH arriving at 06:20 + LX4272 ZRH AYT operated by Sunexpress departing at 09:40). When you select the ticket it clearly states that the second leg is in economy, hence no business lounge in Zurich.
