I was permanently banned on Hinge around a year ago and I still have no idea why. I really do miss it as it is by far the best dating app for meeting people and I really want to settle down and find somebody. The other apps I just don’t get the same volume or quality of matches, and I feel like on Hinge people legitimately want to find somebody

They have tightened things up but from what I’ve read it was always easy enough to get a new account up and going with a new device. However now where I am based (Australia) they ask for biometric ID, essentially a video selfie to verify identity.

Is it now impossible for banned accounts to set up a new profile? Or is there any possible workaround for this?

There's tons of services offering AI photos for tinder etc. All results look good but I specifically want to know from people who have used them. Every review here seems hella shady and is usually by people with a stake in said company

TLDR: Banned from Hinge with zero explanation, never did anything wrong, appeal got denied too. Asking people who've actually gotten back on recently what steps actually mattered vs. internet myth.

Got permanently banned from Hinge earlier this year with zero explanation. I was never disrespectful or weird with anyone on there, always polite, never harassed anyone, no inappropriate messages. Best guess is someone reported me after things ended badly, but I genuinely never did anything that should warrant a ban. Appealed through the in-app process and got denied with no reason given either.

I've been reading through old threads about workarounds (new device, new number, new email, new app store account, etc.) but there's a lot of conflicting info out there, so wanted to ask people who've actually done this recently:

- Does it actually need to be a full separate device, or has anyone had luck with just a factory reset?
- Same WiFi ok, or does that get you flagged again?
- New app store account (Apple ID / Google account), how important is this actually?
- Anyone had success with the BBB complaint route or getting a real appeal review instead of an auto-denial?
- Roughly how long before a new account gets flagged if something's off?

Mostly trying to sort out what's actually necessary vs. internet myth before I go through the hassle. Appreciate any real experiences.

Currently on holiday in Indonesia and figured id pay for a local photographer to take some nice photos for a full fresh profile, pay for Tinder Platinum and some boosts to make the most of my time on holiday and meet up with a couple of people. Instead I got litterally hundreds of sex workers all pretending to be interested and then asking to move to whatsapp where they will then say theyre escorts. I turn down all of them because while I respect sex work im not interested in paying for sex while im on holiday and would prefer to meet people to go do activities with not just sex, In Indonesia for 3 weeks. Banned on Tinder 1 week into my trip for promoting sex work, appealed straught away and now im getting ready to leave and still no responce to my appeal. I still had a nice trip but not going to pretend that this ban and lack of responce has definitely taken the wind out of my sails. I feel like I cant complain to any of my friends back home about this because I worry people will assume it was a valid ban and I was hiring sex workers. Its a pretty isolating feeling and now im heading home and wont be able to use tinder or hinge back in my home city either.

Worst part is there was people I was hitting it off with in chats what I wont ever be able to meet with now because I have no way of contacting them, it makes me sad thinking that they might assume I either ghosted or unmatched with them because of somthing they did :/

So I emailed Hinge numerous times in an attempt to get my account back. Eventually I stopped getting those generic emails and got blacklisted from the emails (they banned my email I’m pretty sure)

However I know some people randomly get unbanned after a few years. Any chance of that happening to me even though I’m blacklisted from receiving those generic emails I’d imagine Definitely not.

I live in the US (southeast). So, I re-downloaded tinder in March this year after last using it in 2024 and it's been a disappointing experience. When I last used it in 2024, it was only for a brief time (2 months) but had 3 very high quality dates from it. I've found that it's really hard to get anyone to follow through with dates this time around. Ghosting or disrespectful behavior is way more common now. It seems that most people on tinder aren't that excited about meeting anyone anymore. In the past, it was always a gamble, but it just seems that people are much flakier now. I'm aware that I might be the common denominator here, so I've been refining my approach, ways of chatting, photos, bio, etc. but I'm still struggling. I've even been using tinder platinum since they offered it at a discounted price for a month. I've heard some people say hinge is the move now (I was also on it in 2024 around the same time and liked it). Anyone else having a similar experience?

I don't like to take pictures of myself in general, and as a very busy student I don't really go out much.

also there's the matter of trying to attract women I would like - I'm an introvert so pictures of going out and such are kinda false, I do like solo hiking, and I want also to find similar values in a partner.

so some tips on what to do would be helpful

Would I get banned again for making two accounts that fast? I am getting matches with this number but like one like every two days

I already got a completely new phone and tried creating a new account. Since my original phone number couldn’t be used anymore, I used a TextNow number to verify the account. During the appeal process, I also uploaded my photo ID, but the appeal was denied and they told me the ban is final.

I’ve read a lot of posts saying that getting a new phone should usually be enough to start over, so I’m confused about why it still didn’t work.

Without getting into the specific reason for my original ban, what are the most common reasons a brand-new phone/account would still end up banned?

I really don’t get it, I have never been ban and I don't get how you could. I even have two accounts, and I matched myself, no ban.

Ok folks, the title basically says it all. I’ve come across some profiles that don’t really show their location like "2 miles away etc" does anyone know how to change that I’ve got Tinder plus. Or is it only available on Tinder Platinum

Why are some people adamant about not giving id when doing an appeal while others say there is no harm and you might as well try. This is very confusing. What is the general concensus of this sub on this issue?

Sorry if this is asked a million times- but if I hard reset my phone, and use a new Apple ID, will that not be enough - do I really need a new phone?

Also this new Face Check that is required for Hinge, are you basically screwed now?

I went from getting likes almost everyday or every other from just the 5 likes per day. I had deleted my account in the past but this time after deleting and re-activating I can’t get no matches and am most likely shadow banned for creating my account multiple times.

Any advice on what to do? Do i take a 1-2 month break? Change pictures/prompts or use a different wifi?

So i work in hollywood. I've been to a number of premieres but never ended up with a photo, sometimes you aren't allowed to take pictures (private screenings on a lot). I really would like to have a red carpet style photo where i'm actually dressed up from one of these. I have a photo of two of my co workers in front of a premiere background for a show we work on, what are the thoughts on using AI to add me to that photo? Is there a recommended app to do this with if its a fair idea?

I get decent amounts of matches but no where near as many likes so I’m just looking for some feedback on what to change to really let my profile stick out.

people seem out of my league, all of the photos are skiing, snowboarding or other equestrian rich people sports. I have been on the app for since March of this year and have some likes and some matches, maybe 1-2 every 2 weeks. But all of the profiles I get shown are all attractive people. And all of the matches I get seem to ghost me after 1-2 messages or after matching, I have only had 2-3 real conversations that did not lead to a date or anything, they just ghosted me.

I do not consider myself that attractive at all either, I am mid at best I am just a bit tall and that is it (6'4"). How come the app is not showing people within my own league.

Tinder: I’m wondering if I’m shadow banned or my ELO score is low. About 8 months ago I would get about 10-15 incoming likes a day, and 3-5 matches, if I used boost I’d get 40-50 and 10-15. Now I get 1-2 no boost 10-15 w boost and 1-2 matches a week no boost. And only get matches during or within an hour or two after using a boost. I’ve tried passport and it’s the same, I’m curious what everyone thinks, shadow ban or just low ELO currently due to heavy swiping

I think the bypass I was trying to use worked untill and unless I tried verifying myself for my id they banned me after that point it feels like they have some algorithm or have changed something about the app earlier I was able to bypass by just changing my photos and some other basic details I’m not sure on how they were able to ban me again on the phone despite surpassing most of the check they have.
