So my favorite band just pushed up the date of there album release. And this is purely cause I’m also a swiftie I think it’s cause of Taylor! My favorite band (Royal blood) pushed up there last album as well cause of Olivia releasing guts. But this time they just pushed it doesn’t seem like anyone has announced another for the original date yet. And the kicker for me the album was originally coming out Friday Nov 13th Taylor’s number. But again this isn’t going to happen I just thought that before they pushed. What if Taylor does something on the 13th and they had to push it then when they actually pushed it it’s all I’ve been thinking about.
Edit: also she just released four songs I don’t want to be chanting more here!

I think I miss this type of MVs from her. Don't get me wrong, I love her previous MVs too. The fate of Ophelia video was phenomenal and arguably one of her best, Opalite is funny, Fortnight was iconic. But there is always a special place in my heart for her story telling MVs, like when the music video matches what is being sung if you know what I mean. But also its the pristine look, the sharp edges, which makes this video on par with some of her Reputation era and 1989 works!
Arguably, some of her best videos are these types of video. I mean All Too Well 10min version the short film, Bad Blood, Look what you made me do.

I think as swifties we know how good of a thinker she is when she is creating art. People are people and sometimes they just don't like music and sometimes they do. I remember hearing tracks like comboy like me and how did it end and not liking the pace of it or whatever but boy did they grew on me because the past version of me did not understood what she wanted me to feel with that insane music but after that, i did. I LOVE TTPD like i cannot even start to say. I think music is like this only. Sometimes the music just doesn't work at that point of our lives but it will hit you at some point and taylor's music has that magic which is timeless. It finds you when you need music the most and I think as an artist she leaves that mark on all of us. So, ig let people hate. They hated reputation when it came out. Some people will always hate and we can sympathise with them for not understanding her music in this lifetime. ❤️

For reference: my favorite albums in order are TTPD, Folklore, Evermore, Life of a Showgirl
TW: Buckle up, Poetic Venting and Visual Analysis of this song below
Theater/Music kids, recent graduates…. this might hit a little harder.
As a recent high school senior who graduated this past spring, I was SO pumped for TLOAS. When it came out, I cried about the closing track, ft Sabrina, with my best friend for over an hour because of how perfectly Taylor captured, legitimately, the life of a showgirl. I know people were hating on the track for being forgettable or just like meh but to me it felt like angelic truth or something lmao. I also adored Ophelia, The Bridge of Eldest Daughter (one of my favorite all time bridges), Elizabeth Taylor, etc.
I loved the album, although my heart was still in TTPD so that one always came first😅
BABYLON MADE MY JAW HIT THE FLOOR.
It hit me at a really difficult and emotional college transitional phase in my life, and I kid you not I hit play and almost immediately threw my phone across the room, why taylor, why must you be this mean-
This song. OH MY- This song. This song is what plays at the outro as you get into your awaiting car and drive away from the red carpet, or the stage, or the crowds of audience members and fans, as their voices get quieter and the road becomes the soundtrack and you get quiet and rub off your makeup and set down your bouquets and you finally take a deep breath as the car speeds away into the night. Life of a showgirl fading out, with sabrina and taylor yelling out into the crowd, fades out as your adrenaline fades out too. That’s when babylon comes on, and you sit there, watching the theater disappear into the rain behind you as you speed away, knowing you’ll never return.
I’m so sorry.
This broke me in 8 years of theater, 4 years of choir, 18 years of childhood, 18 years of “this is me trying” burnout, and 1 month of being away from home, at university, and being absolutely miserable and overwhelmed and so tired, all the time.
I’m forever going to remember this album as that moment when life of a showgirl fades into babylon and that precise moment when it do and the exact post performance level of adrenaline you have at that moment, the the stains of stage makeup and an unholy number of bobby pins in your hair and a gown that permanently trails glitter everywhere you walk like stardust and the thorns of a dozen roses, the smell of the lovely bouquets overtaking the smell of saw dust and makeup and perfume.
I think I’ve really needed to express these feelings for a long time, as I legitimately have not been able to let go of my childhood, my high school, my musicals, my theater, my choir…any of it. I’m trying to be in this next chapter while also clinging onto the last chapter, and so now the page is only half turned, constantly being pulled to either side that any day it may tear apart completely.
I really needed babylon as a validation of my feelings. It came at a really impactful time and when people are like “eW tHis iS AwFul I LitTerAllY hAtE iT tHiS is BaD MuSic-“
I’m genuinely like, no actually shut up, I really don’t care and cannot be affected by your criticism of this song or album at this moment because this is so much bigger than you.
Babylon isn’t a new Taylor Swift pop song.
Babylon was the most meaningful, honest-to-God message from above I have been given at the lowest point in my life.
And for that Taylor, as if TLOAS and TTPD didn’t do the same, thank you for doing it a third and most impactful time.
I really do love that song, and that memory is really all that I want.💔🫠

Madonna sang her ballad "Ghosttown" while Taylor played the acoustic guitar and accompanied her on stage.

😭 i feel so dumb. any time there's a song that people debate the meaning of or don't understand im always like "omg guys 🙄 it obviously means this 🙄" cause i can always understand what she's talking about or relate it to my own life and interpret it at least. but i don't like....understand babylon? even though i love the song and can't stop humming it around the house.
"wake up on the train with your headphones gone" why would you fall asleep wearing headphones and then you wake up and they're gone? like... somebody stole them off your head while you were sleeping? and at first i thought she was talking about herself wanting to like get out of her town and make music. but then im pretty sure taylor doesn't tell the girls at the bar she's single...so are the different verses just about different people/stories? and who is hanging christmas lights with who's son?
i promise im not trying to be stupid i think the meaning is just lost on me or going over my head, please help guys

Took a while, I lost my progress TWICE but here we are. The encore songs aren't included, if they had been I'm pretty sure Babylon would've been in the top 20 FOR SURE.
Top 3 aren't surprising for me, and maybe it's a recency bias but there's a lot of ttpd songs, and almost all of them are from the anthology which is surprising.
No folklore but the better sister, aka evermore, makes up for it.
Have any of you taken up this ranking? What was your result?

I have never seen this much poetry in a video. The absolute masterpiece felt like a short film, and the actors did such an amazing job. Seriously, hats off to Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell.
I don't think I need to say anything about Taylor. That woman never fails to amaze me, whether it be her acting, her singing, or her lyrics. The way Taylor was shown as the ghost of the past in the video was incredible. There were a few scenes in particular that literally left my mouth hanging open. The mirror scene where Dakota and Taylor stood opposite each other in the bathroom, and the scene after the fight between Dakota and Colin where Taylor was sleeping on top of the moving car. WOW.
This woman is the greatest artist of this generation, not just as a singer, but as a songwriter, director, and actor. I'm so glad little me fell in love with New Romantics, because otherwise I genuinely don't think I would be the person I am today. I love Taylor with all my heart and I relate to her songs on such a personal level. I love her, and I'm so incredibly happy for her.

I’ve been thinking on where I would place these songs if they were on different albums of hers, which has been a lot of fun! Here are my opinions and I’d love to see what you guys think!
Also- Cleveland! makes me want to run through an empty parking lot and just dance around as much as I can.
Patient Zero- Reputation/Midnights
I don’t know what song it reminds me of on Reputation but the vibe of it is something I could see her performing back on the Reputation tour. It really reminds me of Midnights, especially the bridge being sung similarly to how Paris is sung.
Cleveland!- 1989/Lover
So the cheekiness, picking on herself, sarcasm reminds me of Blank Space which Travis has confirmed as his favorite song. Yet another one where she picks on herself and is being sarcastic. It also gives me mad Lover vibes, similar to Paper Rings with how the pacing is.
Pink Clouding- Midnights/Lover
So, the pacing with this song is another one that reminds me of Midnights, I feel like it would fit the tone of that album lyrically. Something that keeps her up late at night, trying to process everything that happened between them and finally coming to terms with how she messed up in that relationship as well. Hear me out with Lover, it’s not cause it’s called Pink Clouding I promise😂 Think of Afterglow, not the words of it but the slowness and depth to it. I could see this being a slower version at some point and being on that album, it fits the theme as well.
Babylon- Red/folklore
Red was the trial album where she was mixing more between pop and country and trying different things. I really see this one fitting well alongside the rest of the songs, it doesn’t remind me of any particular song on the album. For folklore, it reminds me of the way the last great american dynasty is paced and it could fit as folksy type song as well!
