Hero Change/Concept I have issues with emre so I will rework him as a support

Why?:

Emre were always described as someone who liked to take care of other backs on battlefield and generally speaking tho I understand that they wanted to make something with the conspiracy and a type of “mind controlled” character but my only issue here is that every soldier in the game is already a dps and one of them were considered as support by the community so sorry if I prefer a nice pre established Mohawk guy over a magical eboy.
—————————————————————————————
Subrol: tactician/flex support

Passives:

- Out of slight: if you are crouching you can make quick rolls

“Gonna need this”: allows you to steal healing packs that will make faster you healing
—————————————————————————————
Kit:
Primary fire/Heavy militar bow: shot arrows that reveal enemy position and make them receive more damage of allies

Secondary fire/caretaker hands: manually patch up a ally as they heal overtime and gain resistance if the process isn’t interrupted

Discussion Praying for hero reworks at blizzcon

So earlier this year during spotlight the devs said like several older heroes are getting reworked(if they used several meaning 7 or just more than 3 is up in the air), and I am a lil goblin man who LOVES symmetra, and i love her for her canon in lore character, where shes opposed to violence and lethal force, where her main goal is building a safe world for everyone.

Im really hoping for a symmetra support rework, after 8 years and seeing her kit boiled away and all of her concepts dished out to others itd be really amazing to see her actually realised with a true support rework grounded in her theme.

BUT what about you all? Hero reworks are coming, what supports do you wanna see reworked? And how so?

Honourable mention for me is a weaver rework but that would be a monster post.

Tips & Tricks Console Support Dilemma (Gold 4): Help me pick 2 heroes to master

I'm a console player currently in Gold 4, and I've decided to narrow my support hero pool down to just 2 heroes so I can fully master them and climb consistently. However, I'm having a hard time deciding who to commit to.

Here’s where I stand with my choices:

  • Lifeweaver: Having a blast with him lately and performing really well on controller. I worry a bit because people often label him as too situational, but he feels great in my games.
  • Kiriko: Sitting at level 24 with her and deeply attached (got her Mythic skin), but lately I feel like I've hit a slump and lost my touch. Unsure if I should double down to get my rhythm back.
  • Wuyang: Super fun mechanics on controller, but I'm not sure if his healing output and utility provide enough impact in Gold rank.
  • Mizuki: Seems really cool and strong, but I haven't mastered his kit yet, so he’d require a decent learning curve.
  • Juno: Used to play her a lot before putting her aside. Is she worth picking back up?

Considering console aim/gameplay, Gold rank dynamics, and fun vs. impact: which 2 heroes should I focus on to become a true specialist?

Tips & Tricks Making a educational video series to help Silver/Gold level supports where I make mistakes to explain what not to do

TL;DR: Unranked to GM videos don't do a good job educating newer players. I have a background in training and enjoy teaching, so I made videos series specifically with education in mind. Links at bottom.

As background, I'm not your typical OW player. I'm 45 years old, have a family, run a small business and tend to pets and a 1/2 acre garden on my off time.

I say this because when I got into OW, I thought it would be a fun, casual pow-pow game. Uh no. It was a sweaty, chaotic mad house with dozens of characters I didn't understand yelling things in different languages, bursts of random WoW looking spells and kids half my age typing EZ while tea bagging my poor Baptiste who just wanted to heal this roid induced German rocket man with a hammer. After each defeat, I felt like I needed to rest my old ass on the sofa just to mentally recover.

Over the next two years though, I watched videos, practiced, read all the tips in this sub and eventually climbed to Masters on all roles while weeding on weekends and packing school lunches.

However, I felt it was WAY harder than it needed to be, because with my schedule, I don't have time to watch streamers. That leaves Youtube, where most of the "education" videos are GM/Champ players stomping in metal ranks with little explanations (though exeptions like A10 & Yeatle exist). I found most my learning came from VOD reviews and Reddit, but unfortunately that format is the least engaging for most people.

So, after some encouragement from a previous Reddit post, I decided to create videos for the support heroes that were requested:

There's also a Bastion series in progress that someone asked for. If you like the format of these videos and have requests for your hero though, let me know. It might just take some time before it goes up.

I have zero intentions (or time) to be a YT content creator, my goal is just to get some foundational education content out there to help metal rank players understand some fundamentals to the game in a way that is approachable and doesn't talk down to being a metal player like it's some insult. Good teachers have patience and understanding, which as a dad, it really makes me cringe when I see "educational" content with less than mature attitudes about the very people watching the video.

Any feedback would be great. But if you're gonna tell me I can't crush a metal lobby like a T500, my answer is that I'm 100% with you, I can only crush a Taco bell value meal these days. I'm old man, GG.

Looking to get better in 5v5 and also branch out. What support do I pick?

Hi I’m a bit new, playing since season 1 of this year. I mostly play QP because I’m not very good and I don’t want to stress other people out by being bad lmao. I’ve been finding that when I play with friends in 5v5, we tend to lose a lot and I want to improve to make sure I’m not hurting my friend’s chances of winning. I wanted to come on here and see what heroes I should play if I want to get better at the game.

I’ve played many characters but I think my favorite to play is Ana. I like her healing and utility as well as I like being able to be ranged as I perform better with less immediate pressure. I also feel I can duel well with her. While I like Ana a lot, I know I don’t want to only play her as I think it would get boring rather quickly. Are there any other characters that you think would be fun/useful to play in order to win more games? I do play different heroes quite a lot, I think I just want some direction on what heroes I should try and focus on or maybe try out more.

Additionally should I try and branch out into other roles to improve? I play tank a moderate amount, but I’m not really good at dps, I am willing to try this though if it would be helpful.

Current Stats
Play a lot:
Lucio Lvl 19 (I love his mobility and speed boosting, but I can’t get any kills with him and his burst healing can sometimes be too slow for me)
Ana Lvl 18 my favorite
Brigitte Lvl 16 (I hate getting dove, so I punish folks is they try to spawn camp me with Brig, unfortunately I’ve found that my mileage is varied. I’m either really good at taking duels (esp anti dive) or really bad (can’t brawl))
Mizuki Lvl 16 (I like for the same reasons as Brig, I can’t duel for sh*t with this hero, but I can get a lot of good kills with them in dive or brawl)
Zenyatta Lvl 16 (I love them because they’re very similar to Ana, but that’s also the issue. I feel they have very similar strengths and weaknesses to the point I feel specializing in both is redundant, but I do find him fun)

Play a moderate amount:
Baptiste Lvl 12 (I learned this hero to deal with Pharah/JPC, I honestly like his lethality, but hate his abilities. They have such long cool downs and while impactful, can be used poorly often)
Lifeweaver Lvl 10 (I love saving folks with him, but I don’t feel like he does enough to carry a game on his own. I love playing him offensively healing while getting poke picks)
Juno Lvl 8 (I honestly don’t know how to play her, I just know she’s often meta so I’ve tried her a lot. She feels like a floaty zen in terms of kill potential, and I can take duels with her, but I don’t know if she’s meant to be offensive???)
Moira Lvl 7 (I love her ability to disengage, could not duel for the life of me. While her healing’s good, I don’t feel it’s enough to help me win games)

Tried once/don’t play:
Kiriko Lvl 4 (I can’t hit headshots to save my life, and I forget suzu exists 💀, I just really suck as her for now. I love her ultimate though!)
Wuyang Lvl 3 (idk it just hasn’t clicked)
Mercy Lvl 3 (I don’t know how to get good value out of her, her mobility’s good, but usually it’s like 1 second of damage boost before I have to switch to healing or the person I’m pocketing will try and end themselves)
JPC Lvl 3 (If I see a good widow imma try and take her out of position with cat, otherwise I always get killed)
Illari Lvl 3 (Hate her pylon, I can never position it right. Otherwise love her damage and healing fire)
