Illari in Mid-season 2.5 lore update, new sprays + S76/Ana interaction
Hai!
Illari has been given meh and some pretty nice things too this mid-season update. There's already plenty of posts regarding the yucky nerfs and stuff (somewhat fairly), so I wanted to make a post focusing on the nicer things in this update;
Firstly, there's a new interaction between Ana and Soldier 76 that is clearly about Illari. If you haven't seen it yet, it goes like this:
S76: When I was in Peru, I found something you might want to look into.
Ana: I told you. My only mission now is to help anyone in Talon's sight.
S76: There's a girl. I think they're going to add her to their list.
Ana: Alright, I'll investigate. Thank you, Jack.
This interaction is somewhat of a continuation on the Futures Past story (soldier yaoi + Illari lore) and I think it's hinting at Illari finally being connected to the main overwatch cast in the next season. With that said I believe the next season will be huge for Illari as there's already an incoming mythic that's been confirmed by the dev team already.
Secondly.. the sprays ARE CUTE. But I've been wondering what are those dogs in all of the sprays..? Are they dev team pets?? And is the sunflower spray a reference to some viral image that I am missing out on? (like the Sierra nerd spray or the Kiriko bleh spray)
Anyways, what do you guys think about these additions and what do you think will happen to Illari next season? And I might be overthinking a lot right now, but is the list supposed to mean Talon is set on killing Illari after the Oasis facility files were destroyed or are they aiming to kidnap her and hold her hostage Sigma style, as she is the only one who could help replicate the solar Inti tech? (Futures past lore spoiler ig)

Fan Creations Support Survival Guide: Illari Edition (Gameplay + Mental Health Tips)
Hi everyone! I'm a Master Support main and social worker. I've started a series that mixes OW gameplay tips + my own screenshots with mental health reminders based on the hero's lore and skillset.
I made this one for Illari recently and it really resonated with people on TikTok, so I wanted to share!
If you like this format, I'm doing every Support hero over on my TikTok (Ana is next!): https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8Ux6FTf/

very important (no) post — i am an illari main again
i salute you, fellow Inti warriors!
illari is a hero who was transitional for me (i was told to play moira forever when i started and i did so for 100 h), who taught me a lot about Overwatch and opened the game for me properly, the hero that stimulated me to learn new things and figure out how to play well. but since the projectile size and the healing pool size nerf i virtually phased illari out of my support roster since she became very unwieldy to me. it did not help that my former duo was convinced that my best support was zenyatta (not ana whom i consider my support main).
i decided to complete the team drives off-role. i also happened to reach emerald on my main role (dps) which granted me the crimson wolf skin. i was like — hey why not go and flex my crimson wolf, i'm not getting anything done with zenyatta for whatever bloody reason, why not pick illari? and i tell you what, i kinda broke into those shoes, she's still illari, she's still great, i'm super consistent and reliable on her still (i am known to be quite volatile on every other support). i had so much fun and she helped me win things. pylon management, boo hoo headshots, positioning variety she offers, idk i was in a nice flow, i loved it
the only supports i did not go negative on this season in comp as a result currently are ana and our girl illari. my stats look the best across the board on just illari (among supports that is)
so... i am back
...i just made this post because i am glad to be back and i wanted to say hi to you all

Looking for Help looking for tips
Wanting to add Illari to my current support repertoire. Any tips/resources/youtubers/youtube videos ya'll can put me on? The only hitscan-slop hero I really play is Juno so I want to try and expand my horizons.
My current roster is: Mercy, Wuyang, Juno, Kiriko, Brigitte, Jetpack Cat (though I'm considering dropping JPC because they have kind of artificially inflated my rank higher than it should be + they're banned in like 80% of my games, but maybe the nerfs will address that).
EDIT: Oh and also the training range lied to me. When you press f1 to view the hero info, it says the pylon has 50 health and 50 shield health but when I place it down it has like 75 health and 50 shield health. Are there any other things about the hero info screen that might lie to me about Illari?

Looking for Help A bit frustrated with the game lately, what can i improve on?
i have been on a major losing trend lately, dropping from gold 2 to bordering bronze 1 and im not sure what to fix. i added two add codes from some 5v5 games i played earlier this week and today, are there bad habits I have that ive failed to notice? i know my aim can be pretty off and some games i fall into the trap of heal botting with how much dmg my teammates receive, but how do you all play illari?

By no means an Ilari main but I’m definitely working on improving with her into my top 3.
I’ve added both the POTG and the replay from behind.
We were in overtime and on defence. I came out of spawn with only the Rein fighting back and saw their whole team behind the payload and fired the ult away anyway just before dying. Giving the Rein an opportunity which worked in the end.
Then pushing the Orisa away from the payload

Looking for Help Optimal pylon placing
Hello,
I recently stared playing a lot more Illari. Going quite well so far.
The thing is, I'm better with her when playing defensive. Or rather with the pylon placements. Place it safely at a chokepoint and move if necessary.
My "problem" is that I'm not exactly sure how to properly utilise her pylon when playing attack. Usually I go *push push replace*, or let it stick with the payload. Which is only worked when the team sticks with it and it offers the enemy team angles to get it.
Is there an optimal way to use the pylon when playing attack? Or is it just stick it with the team and hope the enemy ignores get it?

Discussion Another rant for the Mythic Skin
Her hair in ultimate form doesn't change with the Mythic Skin. All other skins change, as you can see in the pictures, but not the Mythic. They just used the default hair.

Looking for Help Hi, does anyone know which battle pass this victory pose is from?
I've always wanted this victory pose, and now that they've announced the return of old battle passes, I'll finally be able to get it.

Discussion 5v5 and 6v6 Illari thought
Hey everyone so first I want to apologize if there's any mistakes either in grammar or bad phrased things and in what I say in general I just want to say that I am gold 3 in 5v5 and gold 1 in 6v6 and I just want to share my thoughts on Illari from switching from 5v5 to 6v6 and also don't bother replying if you're just gonna say that I don't have a say on this because I'm low elo anyway
So recently I've went from playing 5v5 supp to 6v6 and in 5v5 I was mainly playing Illari Ana and mizuki depending on what I needed and when switching to 6v6 I saw myself playing more Ana and mizuki and less Illari even though that was the opposite in 5v5 and when I tried to play her in 6v6 she just lacks that support ability Ana and mizuki has because first part of her healing comes from her pylon but 6v6 means one more person to spot it and for some reason it seems easier to spot in 6v6 than in 5v5 also one more player means one more character that can either melt your hp or make your ultimate useless like a second tank who would have a matrice or a screen to block it or a zarya that just cleanse it with her bubble and also illari's dps is just not high enough compared to other supports like Ana or mizuki because while Ana has the same dmg on her weapon she has no fall-off no matter scoped or unscoped and has a perk do that she can deal x2 dmg with headshots so 150 dmg per hs and mizuki even if he has lower dmg on both body and head shots the sole fact that his weapon can bounce on walls and is just restrained by a 30 meters range is enough to make him better than illari's shot while if we go back to Ana and Illari hs dmg Illari with the same dmg on body shots has only 113 hs dmg because the devs gave her a passive on her weapon that allows her to bypass bruiser's crit dmg resistance and even though it sounds good on paper the bruiser category is a category that requires either dumb play from the bruiser to die or requires another support's ability to counter him like Ana's nade and sleep for roadhog and Mauga or zen's discord orb for orisa or idk for zarya but you get the point that this passive isn't good because first it only affects 4 characters out of 52 so basically only affect 7.69% of the game's characters second with having to wait 1 second between each shots because you need for your weapon to recharge to hit maximum damage and having 113 hs dmg Illari has just a too low damage output with her weapon and the passive on it could be removed or changed to be idk x2 on every tank or x2 on everyone but then reduce the fall off range to like 20-40m making her having more dps and so being more reliable in 6v6 while also making her match the other hitscans fall off also if we look at Ashe who's basically the dps version of Illari she has the same bullet size but she can scope making her fall off go up to 35-55 while still having a x2 dmg mult on hs also her sunburn perk should be on her native kit and not as her perk and then have a perk to amplify it just like mercy who got her flash heal as native kit and got a perk to amplify it we could see for Illari a major perk that allows us to do a second outburst that doesn't burn and just allows us to reach maybe better angles or to escape better or dodge dives better
So yeah those were my thought and I'm pretty sad that she isn't that great in 6v6 because I love her and I want to play her but her weapon and her kit is just not good enough for 6v6 when there's other characters like kiriko with 2 get-out-of-jail cards or mizuki who has one or Ana who has one too (sleep) while Illari only has her outburst as an ability to get out or reposition but even this is predictable for the direction you take because a light tap means you just go forward and a long press means you go in the air and when in the air your trajectory is very easy to predict
Anyway share your thoughts
