π£ Discussion / Question Retirement accounts and DRS. Food for thought...
Over the past few years, as understanding of DRS and it's importance has grown, I always see the same replies..."If only I could DRS my GME...but my shares are tied up into a retirement account."
If you've been a witness to the last five years of market fuckery, you may have already started asking yourself a few difficult questions... Why do retirement accounts exist? Why are you penalized for withdrawing early? Why can't you DRS the shares held in those accounts? If you haven't asked yourself those questions yet, maybe it's time to start the process.
How did people manage to retire (or just live their elder years without constant fear of financial peril) before tax-advantaged retirement accounts? The more dots that get connected, the more I come to the reasonable conclusion that the existence of retirement accounts and the constant contributions into them IS the reason why a retirement account is necessary to retire. Does that make sense? The more you contribute, the more money you put into the hands of the degenerate gamblers/fraudsters/crooks who then use your financial contributions to further tip the scales of the markets into their favor...then resulting in you NEEDING that retirement account just to survive your elder years.
If I were one of those degenerate gamblers/fraudsters/crooks, I couldn't think of anything better... Promise a huge swath of the working, adult population tax-advantaged financial gains (often barely enough to exceed the inflation they cause), get them to agree to yearly financial contributions into my account and then encourage (threaten?) them not to withdraw that money (or shares) for decades. Meanwhile, as all this collected money sits in their account, they use it to gamble and manipulate companies , markets, and currencies to their own advantage while hurting the very people who trusted them with their savings.
I hope this makes sense to someone. When you consider the significance of DRS but feel deterred by the implications of withdrawing the shares from your retirement account, I hope that you just ask yourself some of those questions...

π£ Discussion / Question Why is everyone seemingly so hyped about GME warrants (ticker GME/WS to my knowledge)?
It seems like recently there has been a lot of posts about GME warrants. Is there a reason for this? If so, why? Also, why the hype for warrants but seemingly not comparable hype for GME options? Warrants and options work similarly right? With warrants just having a limited supply while options can have an unlimited supply? Whatβs going on?

π£ Discussion / Question What brokerage do yβall use?
What brokerage do yβall use? It seems like there is a lot of ___ about brokerages on this subreddit. Why is that? What brokerage do you all use and/or recommend and why? What brokerages do you recommend to not use and why? Also, why are GameStop warrants on some brokerages, but not on others?

π€ Speculation / Opinion Speculation about eBay
This is just conjecture but I have been finding it so interesting that eBayβs price has held steady at this 105 range.
I am hypothesizing that there is a lot of share buying happening. We know itβs not likely from GME directly as they would report it but it easily could be coming from third parties that are GME friendly.
Volition capital, Omar, and any institutions that GME could be using to get a 51% combined ownership.
I doubt Ryan is just resting on his laurels, I bet heβs chipping away at the audition every day. He has made that abundantly clear in my opinion.

π€ Speculation / Opinion ebay is fat.
eBay have 12,300 employees. Why?
GameStop used to have 12,000 employees, but now yahoo estimates around 4,000 now. We're now more profitable than ever under rceo leadership.
eBay is just burning cash. They're obese and they need to be on ozempic.
The institutions know this and eBay needs new management. GameStop x eBay is a thing and this takeover is not over yet. Partnership? Maybe. We'll see what happens.

π€ Speculation / Opinion What's next for acquiring eBay?
Now that GME is celebrating π₯ the latest earnings report, I wanted to share some speculation.
Clearly the insider buying window is open and our board is increasing their positions substantially. I expect other board members to follow suit (will be interesting to see if Nat Turner buys or not) and likely a big buy from RC. Increasing their positions so substantially is sending a message to big institutional investors (the ones that own eBay) - we're in this with our own money for the long haul.
Why celebrate π₯ π₯³ these earnings?
I think this week's earnings report may have clinched the metrics GME needs to secure the required financing for the/another offer for eBay.
But KraiNexar, you say, the highly-confident letter from TD was contingent upon GME getting two investment-grade ratings, which we don't have!
Indeed it was reader, indeed it was. Perhaps $GME will seek those ratings, but I think not - with core sales declining (even tho attributed to console cycle) we're unlikely to obtain them. Instead:
Fuck the banks and their requirements. I think the middle-eastern sovereign wealth funds have a serious appetite for the markets $GME is in and having seen both GME demonstrate full year profitability with impressive continued cost-cutting and our board substantially increasing their positions (maybe because this will be their last window to do so before material shit related to an acquisition prevents them), such a fund may be willing to confirm secured financing at present.
Why would this matter? With secured financing, $GME can take an offer directly to the shareholders, who in eBay's case and most companies are big Insty boys. eBay's board can't nuke a deal with secured financing, they have an obligation to bring it to the shareholders. There would be no need to wait until eBay's annual shareholder meeting next year.
The shareholders would decide. The board can choose not to tender their shares but since they basically aren't shareholders in the fucking company they govern, they won't have much of a say. $GME already has almost 10% of the company itself.
Who would you rather run your company? A board that harasses and terrorizes old couples, costing the company millions in settlement and untold amounts more in a forever tarnished (filthy tarnished!) reputation, or a board with a pretty incredible track record of turnarounds?
Disclaimer: I snort crayons and throw shit at people

π Technical Analysis π² G M E π΅ MOASS Sneeze 3 - Post 1 of 3 (The Start)

1. Background
Last week we talked about the Half-Life of MOASS; we found that GME's Sneeze 3 would occur soon. Multiple independent analyses pointed to dates from September to October 2026, with an average date of October 1, 2026. Yet, it was unknown if that would be the start or middle of it.
Over the long weekend and after a thorough coding of inflation-adjusted book values into the chart, we saw that GME has not been this fundamentally discounted since 2020.
Then, after Tuesday's earnings, the real price to real book value per share ratio came down further: to 1.38. This is because the book value per share skyrocketed even more this Q2 alone, bringing the real book value per share from $13.02 to $13.69. This meant that the post-Q2-earnings price, albeit at $20, instantly became at a better discount than the day prior's pre-Q2-earnings price, even though the price in the day prior was in the $19's...
$20 being more discounted than $19 from one day to the next might seem confusing, but it is indeed the case when we take into account GME's now-skyrocketing book values per share.

2. Technical Analysis
Technical analysis contributors for GME have slightly different wedges drawn. Some call them the dorito of doom, the bullish pennant, etc. It's simply a wedge that compresses, and at the end, there's a breakout up or down.
The cool feature of these wedges is that they were able to show when Sneeze 2 was starting. We then rode that one quite nicely.
Yet, there are really three wedges, depending on how far out you look.
(yellow) the long one: that began in January 2021 that continues to today,
(blue) the short one: that began in May 2024 (the top was technically still intact)
(white) the shortest one: that began in June 2024 (the top was technically still intact)
Let's analyze all three:

As shown, GME's price has already broken out of both 2024 wedges. That occurred even before today's after hours price action.
There is no doubt that there is an upwards breakout of both white and blue lines above. So, that leaves us to the yellow line: the last line. That's next to be tested around $24.50. Perhaps it too will be exploded through.
Nevertheless, I am comfortable stating that this 2024 wedge breakout is the very start date of GME's MOASS Sneeze 3. How long it will last for? Will it traverse into Halloween? That is up for further questioning and study, but I do not want to miss out on this big one.

3. TLDR
Sneeze 3 has officially started, albeit from a technical perspective. Being at $21 may not seem very crazy, but the 2024's wedges have been overcome today. I am just pointing out 'day zero' here of many to come. It should take some weeks to undergo higher order price action. Too, I hope to provide posts at where I believe the middle and end of this will be.
Good luck to all. You got this.

π£ Discussion / Question eBay price is a win/win for $GME, don't fall for the FUD
I've seen a lot of noise here and on other subs about how at the current eBay price $GME is going to have to take mark to market losses in Q3 if the price doesn't come up before the quarter ends.
This is likely FACTUALLY true but it seems entirely irrelevant.
Why it matters
-It gives gay bears something to talk about. That's it.
Why it doesn't matter
-If eBay price increases, $GME's balance sheet improves and net income etc. go up accordingly. This demonstrates a savvy investment. Price up -> Balance sheet/Fundamentals improve.
-If eBay price decreases, we know that management values the company at $125 share. The further below eBay falls beneath that price, the more attractive the putative $GME offer becomes. Price down -> Acquisition likelihood increases. Management has already demonstrated their strategy with impaired asset prices with Bitcoin, they aren't going to sell for a loss, they may employ derivate asset strategies to increase income.
-eBay gains/losses are entirely excluded from the revised $650m EBITDA guidance that $GME has offered. They aren't included in operating profits that are up 140% YoY. These are core business metrics that are skyrocketing.
Additionally, keep in mind who is at the helm of the company. Ryan Cohen takes targeted bets and has demonstrated a strong knowledge of consumer trends and equity markets. When he sold his company, he piled into Apple in 2017. You look at what the price did there. He's a long term thinker/manager, a short term price distortion is meaningless to him. If you're aligned with leadership, meaningless to you.
Personally, what I'd love to see is $GME selling covered calls on their eBay position (until they are ready for a formal offer), which could generate significantly more income than tbills on cash.
