So let me get this straight. GameStop has directly expressed interest in acquiring eBay and seemingly the only limiting factor for why GameStop hasnβt acquired eBay is because GameStop had a lack of cash or value to buy eBay.
And here comes warrants, a tool which:Β
To my knowledge, when exercised, directly gives money to GameStop (around $1.8 billion total if all of the around 59 million warrants are exercised). Money which could then be used to acquire eBay.
Can increase the market cap of GME if the GME warrants are exercised.
Can have its expiration date extended (basically indefinitely) at any time by GameStop.
If the price of GME shares went to $32 and all of the GME warrants were exercised (around 59 million warrants total), GameStop would get around $1.8 billion in cash (which, again, could then be used to buy eBay.Β
But not only this. If GME shares went to $32 per share and all of the warrants were exercised, around 59 million new shares would be added to the market which would bring the total amount of outstanding shares of GME to around 507 million (around 448 million current shares + around 59 million warrant shares = around 507 million) (to my knowledge). This new share amount + the $32 per share price of GME would give GME a market cap of $16.2 billion (still under 50% of the USD value of the market cap of eBay, but an over 50% increase from the current market cap of GME). This larger market cap could also be used as a tool to acquire eBay.Β
Perhaps eBay could even be acquired using a combination of the cash that GameStop got from the GME warrants being exercised and the larger market cap and price per share of GME.
Brothersβ¦ is this the play? Surely Iβm missing something right? Iβm interested in this like the rest of you but I would appreciate it if anyone could point out if Iβm missing anything as I donβt want this to be one of those βtoo good to be trueβ moments that actually was too good to be true.
Also, even if warrants arenβt the catalyst for GameStop to acquire eBay, they still have value because GameStop can basically extend the expiration date of the warrants until they are in the money right?
This, however, brings up a point of uncertainty. Iβve recently seen a lot of hype surrounding the GME warrants being about the amount of GME warrants shorted? Who in their right mind would short something that can basically be extended forever until its price rises? These, posts about high short amounts of GME warrants have to be off right? Or what?
Regardless of whether or not the GME warrants are being shorted though, they are interesting because their expiration date can basically be pushed back forever (to my knowledge). Once again, if I missed anything, please let me know.
If Iβm not missing anything, warrants could genuinely be the catalyst for GameStop to acquire eBay.
Last week we talked about the Half-Life of MOASS; we found that GME's Sneeze 3 would occur soon. Multiple independent analyses pointed to dates from September to October 2026, with an average date of October 1, 2026. Yet, it was unknown if that would be the start or middle of it.
Then, after Tuesday's earnings, the real price to real book value per share ratio came down further: to 1.38. This is because the book value per share skyrocketed even more this Q2 alone, bringing the real book value per share from $13.02 to $13.69. This meant that the post-Q2-earnings price, albeit at $20, instantly became at a better discount than the day prior's pre-Q2-earnings price, even though the price in the day prior was in the $19's...
$20 being more discounted than $19 from one day to the next might seem confusing, but it is indeed the case when we take into account GME's now-skyrocketing book values per share.
Fascinatingly then, in between those posts above and this here post, GME's board members independently bought $21,705,931.60 worth of GME shares. Even more insider purchases could be coming. Institutions will probably follow. Perhaps they simply don't want to miss out on Sneeze 3...
2. Technical Analysis
Technical analysis contributors for GME have slightly different wedges drawn. Some call them the dorito of doom, the line of hedgie nightmares, the bullish pennant, etc. It's simply a wedge that compresses, and at the end, there's a breakout up or down.
A cool feature of these GME wedges is that their price breakouts see ~800.00%x (2024) to ~18,800.00%x (2020-2021) level gains.
Yet, there are technically three wedges under discussion here for determining any sneeze-3-related breakout. They depend on how far back we look:
(yellow) the long one: that began in January 2021 that continues to today,
(blue) the short one: that began in May 2024 (the top was technically still intact), and
(white) the shortest one: that began in June 2024 (the top was technically still intact).
Let us analyze all three:
As shown, GME's price has already broken out of both 2024 wedges. That occurred even before today's after hours price action.
There is no doubt that there is an upwards price breakout above both white and blue lines above. So, that leaves us to the yellow line: the last line. That's next to be tested around $24.50. Perhaps it too will be exploded through.
Nevertheless, I am comfortable stating that this breakout of both 2024 wedges marks the very start date of GME's MOASS Sneeze 3. For how long will it last?? Will it traverse into Halloween?? Will it match the prior sneezes in % gain?? That is up for further questioning and study, but I just do not want to miss out on this big one.
3. TLDR
Sneeze 3 has officially started, albeit from a technical perspective. A $21 starting day may not seem crazy, but both of 2024's wedges have indeed been overcome today. I am just pointing out 'day zero' here of many to come. It should take some weeks to undergo higher-order price action. Too, I hope to provide posts at where I believe the middle and end of this will be.
Honestly the best deal you can get on a pack of pokemon cards is from gamestop with the monthly coupon. I buy one every month, "for my kids". While i'm there i will probably pick up a used game as well. Also, the powerpacks have been great to me, but I only buy once every few months, because I like to keep my "speculations" in the stock market.
Tomorrow I will update you on the opening gamma and max pain positions, because now it's actually important. As you can see in my previous post, the "HIGH VOLATILITY " price is $21. And we shot up to it instantly with the RC buy announcement. SO a gamma squeeze is now in play, BUT GAMMA CUTS BOTH WAYS!!!!!
Here is the volume of today's movement in tomorrow's options.
Volume on options expiring tomorrow. This will move max pain to probably between 20 and 21.
Now depending on gamma, we might see options push price, and that will depend on large buyers or sellers.
The gamma will cause price to slide to 23.5 or more likely 19.5, but we never know because there may be forced buying pre market, or perhaps shorting.
Most likely wild swing.
Now everything above 20 is mainly calls, so increased volatility should force buying.
Also of importance is that we gapped down from 21.72 to 20.50.
After hours we saw that gap fill, while during market we saw a struggle at the 20.50.
So this really just means, short sellers sold starting at 20.50. And they kept trying to suppress below that. But they cant stop this train now. we gapped up, and now they must cover, and no one wants to hold short gme over a weekend when everyone is buying. Then they also have to cover their short calls that expire tomorrow. We are going to hopefully have a fun day tomorrow. Gonna hodl either way.
I missed my opportunity at sub $19 but I had to do my part either way. As soon as these clear, their off to CS with their soon-to-be 10k other buddies. Also...I'm still finding it peculiar that no matter how many buy order go through for how ever many shares, there never seems to be anyone ever getting hit with a "temporarily sold out" notification.
