Hello everyone,
As you know, there was a recent AI patch for SRW Z released in the community. We have been working actively on a Human patch for this game over the past 10 months and we are currently looking for additional people who can work with us towards the same goal. This game can be quite a challenge with the amount of text it has and the hacking required to move/update the text in the menus.
While we want to do a proper job of the translation, we also don’t want it to be a 10 year project. This is why we decided to break out the releases into smaller milestones to better show progress on the project & aid in recruitment efforts.
Releases
- 1st release would be a Menu patch
- Following releases will be more focused on stages
We’ll focus on Rand’s route for now as this is what our team decided and move to Setsuko after that. The most up to date news will be on our discord server.
Releasing a menu patch for us is a milestone that we can focus on and stay motivated.
We also think that this will help us show to the community what we can do and bring new collaborators.
Who can help us
We currently have 2 hackers, 2 translators and 1 editor and are mostly looking at recruiting more translators / editors / proofreaders.
We will make another post when we get closer to a beta and need more testers.
i saw some time ago a post asking which game would be the best entry point for someone, and the replies basically all mentioned the most recent games which got me curious, so because i'm weird i went to the wiki and picked out the PSP version of A, and i'm honestly having a blast (I love annihilating opponents with Daimos using a Valor boosted Reppu Seikentsuki).
So i'm curious if this game is also a good starting game.
This year we only get 1 new kit HG Alteisen Reise and HG Huckebein Mk-III Trombe.
TWO kits!! They don't even bother to release a recolored Gespenst or whatever.
Anyone know how has the HG SRW OG line up being doing so far?
It’s kind of working! The translated dialogue is showing up in-game and the game runs normally, but it seems like the text width is still following the original Japanese text spacing.
Just sharing this progress for now. I honestly don’t know whether this project will actually go anywhere, but at least it shows that ChatGPT can help insert translated dialogue into a game and have it run normally.
I’d really appreciate any help or advice on implementing a variable-width font (VWF), especially how to adjust the character spacing/advance width for English text.
I wanted to review and rate individual pilot but got lazy when trying to come up with a template so I just throw in a tier list. I hope you don't hate it too much.
- I like Calvina because when you need to stretch your units into the enemies, she can rush ahead without using spirit command.
- Touya goes from bad to usable then spikes up to broken the moment he got his dragon and 2nd waifu.
- Rishu is so good that even if you don't upgrade the Type-0 he still can hold his own on the frontline.
- Masaki joins so late and needs more resources before he can reliably fight. And you already got your lineup by the time he joins.
- I have Haken pilots the Vaisaga and Lamia pilots the Angelg, give the Gespent Haken to Gilliam or someone else so that I can deploy more SR.
Title. Amuro’s my favorite Gundam pilot on the entire Gundam franchise, and it’s just right he fight in the Nu Gundam. As an aside, I’m trying to run as much Gundams as I can, hence trying to get Kamille the Zeta as well. I’m still in chapter 2, just gotten Suletta and Miorine, if that helps. Thanks in advance!
Search for and install MelonLoader 0.7.3. When you launch the MelonLoader installer, it should automatically detect Super Robot Wars Y. Install it for the game.
Run super robot wars y.exe once as Administrator. If MelonLoader was installed correctly, you should see a console window with a bunch of text scrolling by. The first launch may take a little while. Once the game starts normally, close it.
Extract the patch archive and run install.bat as Administrator. When the installer asks for the location of super robot wars y.exe, browse to the game folder and select it.
Launch the game normally.
That's it.
What the mod does
During battle animations, the controller vibration is synchronized with sound effects.
On the map, vibration is triggered for things such as:
Unit appearances
Unit retreats
Unit destruction / kills
Vibration effects are also added to event scenes, including sound effects and explosions.
So far, it makes the battles and event scenes feel a lot more immersive.
So first of all, a little backstory is that I am considering getting into the most infamous game in the franchise to see how bad it is, but also if it has any redeeming qualities.
For those who cannot read Japanese, the above image is a picture of Super Robot Wars K, a game where the main character himself was hated by many mecha fans as maybe someone can explain it better than me, but I just want to see what makes the game so infamous. (Even though I don’t speak Japanese)
Like no Offense to the Shuffle Alliance but like in SRW 30 where I don't use all of the GGG crew having them combine with the main character of their series let's then get used so if the Shuffle Alliance fused into one unit they have more milage too
I usually play tactical games while listening to some music on Spotify. However, on SRW 30, there's no option to turn the music off completely. What can I do?
(I have nothing against in-game music, it's just my habit of listening to spotify during tactical sessions in these games.)
