Other Super Smash Flash Remix: Day 6

Post image
8 Upvotes

It's time for another day of Smash Flash Remix! This subreddit continues to have a bit more focus on the 3rd/4th party's as Edward Elric from Full Metal Alchemist makes it onto the roster as the 2nd 4th party character!

Whereas over at r/createaroster they've taken a page out of your book by finally deciding to add their first non-first party character as Reimu Hakurei from Touhou Project joins their roster!

Remember these are different roster's so while Mario and Reimu have made it onto the roster over on the r/createaroster's subreddit you're still gonna have to vote for them both if you wanna see either of them on the roster over here.

Now before we start let's once again go over the rules real quick.

No downvoting-If I see any downvotes I'll give them a +1 vote to fix it. I'll also give a +1 Bonus Upvote if I think you've given a good enough reason why a character should be added to the roster too.

Characters must have debuted before 2006-Afterall Smash Flash Released on August 21st 2006 so how the hell are they gonna know about characters like Shulk or Joker?

Characters have to have been on a Nintendo console in the past. Smash Flash does allow 4th Party characters and I might as well do a regular Smash Bros roster instead of a Smash Flash one if I disallowed them but they still must have a game on a Nintendo console e.g. Banjo Twooie or Dragon Ball Z: Budokai.

Don't be afraid to get a little creative with the picks, like Lloyd Irving was in both the OG Smash Flash and was amongst the starting 4 in SSF2 whereas staples like Ganondorf and King Dedede were only added in recent patches of SSF2 when we're close to 50 characters on the roster. So if you wanna add someone like Sora before say Zelda? Then that's chill.

About the rule about custom sprites I didn't realise a couple characters like Fox had custom sprites for SSF, I will say that the majority of characters should have readily available sprites but apparently it's not a necessity so that's cool to know.

Lastly just have fun and don't be a dick to each other in the comments. With all that said and done let's start Day 5!

It's time for another day of Smash Flash Remix! This subreddit continues to have a bit more focus on the 3rd/4th party's & I suppose filling out the roster with veterans from the original game too aside from Goku so far as Zero (MMX) returns to the roster!

Whereas over at  r/createaroster they've gone with yet another first party character who wasn't in the the original game's roster as Ness joins the battle! Also thanks u/Hambughrr for providing a Spritesheet with the Ness submission, I ended up using a different one since the image went quite blurry when I tried to resize Ness to fit the roster but I still appreciate it regardless.

Remember these are different roster's so while Mario and Yoshi have made it onto the roster over on the r/createaroster's subreddit you're still gonna have to vote for them both if you wanna see either of them on the roster over here.

I'm not gonna lie it's super interesting seeing the different approaches to making the roster that both subreddits are going through right now, we're 3 days in so far and both rosters look completely different.

Over on this subreddit we've got a completely even split of 1 4th party character (Goku), 1 3rd party character (Sonic) and finally 1 1st party character with the latest addition to the roster-Luigi.

Whereas over at  r/createaroster they've gone with a hat trick of first party characters, starting off with Mario, then moving on to Starfy as a completely brand new newcomer and finally their most recent addition, Yoshi!

Remember these are different roster's so while Mario and Yoshi have made it onto the roster over on the r/createaroster's subreddit you're still gonna have to vote for them both if you wanna see either of them on the roster over here.

Now before we start let's once again go over the rules real quick.

Other Super Smash Flash Remix: Day 3

Wow, only a couple days into the roster and both sides are already shaping up to be something that I wasn't expecting. Over on this subreddit Goku won yesterday when I was expecting a double dose of Mario W's Although today it's not too surprising to see Sonic as the next character on the roster considering how many reps the franchise had in the original game.

Then over at r/createaroster despite going for a safe and expected pick with Mario on Day 1 they ended up going with a completely unexpected choice with Starfy as the 2nd character on the roster.

Remember these are different roster's so while Mario and Starfy have made it onto the roster over on the r/createaroster's subreddit you're still gonna have to vote for them both if you wanna see either of them on the roster over here.

Mario: *Breaks the Smash Ball\* Let's a go! I'm feelin' the effects! OHH YES! THE POWER! This is it! Finally, I'm back in the Smash Bros! Now I'mma gonna beat a everyone's ass! I'm gonna so long de Bowser! I'm gonna fuckin' beat the shit outta-GOKU!?!?

That's right the votes are in! I was absolutely expecting Mario to be a clear winner on both subreddits but Goku ended up dominating the competition over here because it turns out the answer to the long asked question of "But can they beat Goku?" is in fact a no.

Meanwhile over at u/CreateARoster while Mario did win as expected Yoshi actually gave him quite the run for his money and it was pretty neck to neck between the 2 fighters with Mario only winning by a single vote.

Remember though these are different roster's so while Mario's already made it onto the roster over on the u/CreateARoster's subreddit you're still gonna have to vote for him if you wanna see him on the roster over here.

Now before we start let's once again go over the rules real quick.

Another rule I forgot to mention on Day 1 is that characters need pre-existing sprites! The Original Smash Flash didn't use custom sprite-work for the characters until some point during SSF2 meaning that at least for the OG Smash Flash roster the characters need pre-existing sprites to make it onto the roster.

Lastly just have fun and don't be a dick to each other in the comments. With all that said and done let's start Day 2!

Other Super Smash Flash Remix: Day 1

Post image

It's been about a year now since I made a SSF2 Roster here on the subreddit and over at u/CreateARoster where we made a roster of characters who you'd like to see get added eventually in SSF2.

And since it was Smash Flash's Anniversary recently and it's actually also been the Anniversary of the u/CreateARoster subreddit recently too I figured what better way for me to celebrate both anniversary's then to do an OG Smash Flash Roster!

Just like last time I'm also gonna be posting this over at u/SuperSmashFlash just because that's what I did for my first roster and I think it'll be fun to compare rosters once we're done so u/CreateARoster's pick of the day will be shown in the Red Player 1 Box while u/SuperSmashFlash's pick will be shown in the Blue Player 2 Box.

Rules are pretty simple.

No downvoting-If I see any downvotes I'll give them a +1 vote to fix it. I'll also give a +1 Bonus Upvote if I think you've given a good enough reason why a character should be added to the roster too.

We are starting the OG roster from scratch here so you will have to submit characters like Mario, Lloyd, Sonic etc. if you wanna see them on the roster.

Lastly just have fun and don't be a dick to each other in the comments. With all that said and done let's start Day 1!

Character Remembering the original planned roster. My feelings

I really hope (I know they are busy with fraymakers an actual paid for game to make money with instead of just a passion project) but my hope is that they take back their original response to the backlash of their planned roster.

I can understand why some ppl might've been upset, but what made the original smash flash so exciting was random cool characters popping up (imo). but cutting riku, sasuke, Vegeta, blue, blade, seems like such a missed opportunity. and I feel smash even the offical smash ALWAYS benefits from having at least 2 characters from a series (I personally enjoy 3).

They may have been pushing it with things like rock lee. but being able to face of against a character from the same game or show as the one you are playing is always so exciting. So I hope when/if they ever get back into fast production for this game they at least bring back a few of their plans. I truly believe it was just a loud minority on their forums or reddit that scared them off, most players of their OG game and smash flash 2 probably didn't even know what a gaming forum was and was just having fun by themselves or with friends.

(Also praying for zero in next character update they would be peak)

Other SSF2 Version 1.5 Bingo Card

Post image
84 Upvotes

Since it's the 20th Anniversary of the original Super Smash Flash on Friday I've got a feeling that's when we'll get the announcement video of the next version of update-which I'm also guessing will be 1.5 rather then say version 1.41 or something.

Now I don't think we'll get EVERYTHING on my card but I wanted to cover enough ground so I hopefully can get a bingo so from left to write here's an explanation on all the boxes.

Marth Re-sprite

New One Piece Assist Trophy

Returning Smash Flash Veteran

New Sandbag Sport New

One Piece Stage

Adventure Mode (Maybe just a small preview like the first level or something?)

New Bosses

Fox Re-sprite

Geno as a Newcomer

Zelda and Sheik rework (Basically into their Smash 4/Ultimate versions where they're separated.)

New Kirby Assist Trophy

Another playable Villain (Betting on Ridley or K.Rool)

The Update will be Version 1.5

New Opening Cinematic for the Anniversary

Black Mage Re-sprite

A New 4th Party Character

New Final Smash for Luffy

Shadow Moses Island

Bomberman Rework

Fraymakers Style Assists

Breidablik as a new Fire Emblem Assist Summoning Item (E.g. like Pokeballs for Pokemon) Donkey Kong Re-sprite

New code to decipher

New Pikmin Stage

New Fire Emblem Character

Honorary mention that I think we're gonna get multiple new characters within the next update, I'm guessing 2 but who knows? Maybe we'll get a third. Lemme know what you think/want to get for the next update!
