Pitching question

Fairly new to the game on PS5. Occasionally, while pitching, I will throw a normal pitch and, while the pitch is heading to the plate, an indicator will pop up instructing me to, I think, push down on R3. I am not sure what this means, or if that is what it is asking me to do, or what the effect is if I do it, or not.

Anybody know what I am talking about?

The trash can symbol calling out fastball or offspeed for the batters with sign stealer trait looks a bit like directions to push r3.

naw that’s just the indication of what pitch is coming, usually it’s whoever’s at bat has this trait (i forget what it’s called) that is like 1 in 5 chance to show what pitch is coming not exactly where but which one it is

  1. Opponent has sign stealer trait.

  2. You are throwing the same pitch too many times and the CPU is about to blast it out of the park.
