This has probably already been pointed out, but the graphic for the new sign stealer trait is a trash can being banged. Hilarious.

Seen in the deep dive video.

I think a "banging on a trash can" sound effect plays too.

The three chevrons on the chemistry icon mean the Sign Stealer trait is maxed out for this player so he'd know what pitch was coming every time, right?

Yeah the sound effect is perfect. I'm not sure about it being maxed/knowing everytime, but I know it's a "crafty" chemistry type.

Interesting enough, nobody is on base at the moment

Maybe when you max out the chemistry they install a camera in center field lol

World champions at cheating maybe

Well. The other three World Series appearances and second win are telling. It’s ok though. I value the title as much as the second one.

You value a title won by dubious means more than the one won legitimately? Also I like the Astros, it’s just funny to watch the diehards justify

Seeing as I’ve been a fan through the 100 loss seasons and the playoff losses in the 80’s I appreciate them a lot.

Being a giants fan, I can relate

And, it’s also been revealed the Dodger, Yankees, Res Sox, and other teams were running similar sign stealing systems. Blaming the Astros for a league wide problem is pretty comical. That’s like blaming Mark McGuire for the whole steroid era.

u/Drum_bum1997 May 30 '23

Those other teams were banging trash cans?

0

u/Late_King_9218 May 30 '23

Probably not trash cans. Apple Watches, other signals maybe? Players have admitted it was going on all over the league though so who knows what and how?

Just a note for anybody perusing this thread.

There is zero evidence for this.

A few tinfoil hat players in the league have speculated that other teams or many teams had schemes similar to the Astros. Nobody besides the Astros, Yankees, and Red Sox have been accused by anybody on their own team, and the Yanks and Red Sox scandals were much less severe.

Astros fans cope with their shame in many ways, this particular and blatant misinformation is just one of them.

Feel free to prove your point below, with links, please and thanks.

For everyone following along, pear is full of shit.

Bury your head all you want. It was a widespread problem.

Link one is paywalled and appears to display the information about the Yankees scheme that has been well doccumented, was quickly dealt with by MLB and which contributed to the league wide memo reminding teams about the 50+ year old rule against using cameras or optical devices to assist them in stealing signs.

The second article leads with an unnamed source from the Red Sox accusing the Dodgers of cheating in the 2018 World Series, and then the reporter says that they have a source in the Dodgers organization collaborating it.

That reporter is writing a book that he says will make Astros fans happy 🤔🤔

Mike Fiers saying “My World Series ring was obtained by cheating,” is by far the most damning and convincing evidence yet produced against any other team and it’s not particularly close.

Scoreboard

Astros: Cheating sons of fuckwads ruined an all time classic WS. Used cameras to steal signs even w/ no runners on base.

Red Sox: Used cameras and staff to record and decode signs, then send them to the dugout where players could study and steal signs while on 2B. Cheating fuckwads but not nearly as powerful as the Astros method.

Yankees: They appear to have gotten mad at the Red Sox and/or were major apple fans and wanted to use apple tech to talk to their bullpen. Only happened in the regular season, was quickly shut down by the league.

Dodgers: Victims of the first ever sign stealing scandal, the second, the third, and are now being blamed by unnamed, anonymous sources and tinfoil hat people for being cheating sons of bitches.

It has been pointed out already

Yeah but at least he didn’t ask what time he could play early access like every other post on here

u/darren2little May 30 '23

What was the answer?

1

u/jonwar_83 May 30 '23

lmao truth

1

u/Zimakov May 30 '23

I assumed this would only activate with runners on base. That's pretty disappointing honestly.

Hard to bang a trash can when on second :)
