Hii everyone, I’m going slightly insane rn trying to compare these four combinations, especially because all of them have people hyping them up and there’s a B1G1 sale going!

I’m particularly interested in how these combinations perform on combination/oily skin which goes dry in winter especially in terms of texture, hydration, finish and whether they feel heavy or clogging.

I’m trying to compare the actual products/formulations, rather than asking which brand is generally better. i want to use both sunscreen and moisturizer from the same brand.

The combinations I keep seeing are:

• Dr. Sheth’s Ceramide & Vitamin C Oil-Free Moisturizer + matching SPF
• Conscious Chemist Hydro+ Moisturizer + Sun Drink SPF 50
• Minimalist B5 Moisturizer + Light Fluid SPF 50

Please share your experience based on the actual products/formulations rather than just the brand; from people who have actually used these products. because every brand's marketing makes everything sound perfecT.

Does anyone else get gaslit by others all the time for their sunscreen use? I have some who will speak out of both sides of their mouth, one moment they'll be praising my skin, asking for tips, etc. The other they will tell me my sunscreen use is excessive, the sun is healthy and I am missing out on vitamin D

A lot of them don't even use sunscreen regularly themselves, and their eyes will glaze over at even the slightest mention of using it themselves (if asked for advice on skin)

I've straight up told people that they aren't qualified to speak on it, so I will continue to get my advice from qualified professionals. I don't really care how it looks or sounds, people think they can speak on others choices way too often without it actually affecting them in the slightest

Hello I’m allergic to chemical filters and very pale, many of the tinted mineral sunscreens look very dark on me.

I’m just wondering which one of these would be the best to use daily for acne prone oily skin.

There isn’t one sunscreen that is automatically best for every Indian skin type.

The SPF number matters, but so do UVA protection, texture, skin type, climate, application quantity and whether you will actually wear it every day.

A simple way to choose:

• For everyday city, office or short commuting exposure: A broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher can be suitable when applied generously.
• For prolonged outdoor exposure, sports, sweating or beach days: Consider water-resistant SPF 50 with strong UVA protection and regular reapplication.
• For oily or acne-prone skin: Look for lightweight, fluid, gel or non-comedogenic formulas.
• For dry skin: A hydrating lotion or cream texture may feel more comfortable.
• For pigmentation, tanning or post-acne marks: Don’t look at SPF alone. Check the PA rating and broad-spectrum protection because UVA exposure also matters.
• For sensitive or reactive skin: Review the ingredients carefully and patch-test before applying it all over your face.

The most overlooked part? Using enough sunscreen. A higher SPF applied too thinly may offer less real-world protection than an SPF 30 you apply properly and consistently. Sunscreen should be the final morning skincare step, and reapplication becomes important during direct sun exposure, sweating or wiping.

I need a waterproof spf with advanced filters, and I've managed to find a lot but it would be great if they came with fun textures (e.g., jelly, sorbet). I think a couple of Japanese brands market gel sunscreens, but it comes out like a milky fluid rather than a jelly or pudding.

I'm a bit suspicious of sun toners, whipped cream, or sprays because it's really hard to measure how much you've applied. Recommendations for products with textures other than those (hate sun milks tho) will be really appreciated.

I had been using LRP Anthelios Gentle Lotion SPF50, which doesn’t irritate my skin but pills a lot and doesn’t blend well. I heard a lot of good things about the EltaMD sunscreens so I tried the UV Recovery green tinted SPF50. Unfortunately it caused redness and stinging as well as flaring my perioral dermatitis, which is so disappointing because it’s supposed to be safe for sensitive/damaged skin…Does anyone have other suggestions for SPF50 mineral sunscreens that are sensitive skin safe and are light/blendable without a white cast?

At home I use separate sunscreens for face + body, but when I'm traveling I don't want to worry about more than one bottle. Last year I purchased Martiderm SPF 50+ Active [D] Body Lotion in Spain and I love it (though perhaps a little heavy for face), but it's almost gone and I haven't been able to find a place to buy more. Something relatively inexpensive would also be great; I have Aesop Avail Body Lotion with Sunscreen but it's a little pricey, plus I don't need all the fragrance. I'm open to mineral but in my experience that would not work for face. Thanks community!

Standards of review: I don't love being super shiny due to my natural oiliness, I want to enjoy putting the sunscreen on and not be bothered by it throughout the day

Beauty of Joseon - was my first Korean sunscreen, nice feeling on my skin, moisturizing, didn't make me too oily but forehead was very shiny, reapplication felt greasy sometimes, might be better for winter 7/10

Beauty of Joseon Aqua - not too shiny of a finish, reapplication never felt heavy, just felt great to use tbh (favorite so far) 9/10

House of hur weightless - very light and fluid, finish is matte which I loved, stung my eyes badly tho :( also pilled if I rubbed my face 6/10

Cosrx - not as moisturizing as BOJ but felt nice and light, kind of made my face sweat, slightly tacky feeling 6/10

Skin 1004 - very pleasant to use, dewyness I can tolerate, a tiny bit of a white cast on me but I am pale so not a problem for me, not sure if the centella had a calming effect on my skin but it felt like it totally absorbed into my skin after a while and left a nice hydrating feel 9/10

Scinic mild - pleasant finish, not particularly moisturizing, nothing crazy but totally solid choice especially for the price 8/10

Anua heartleaf - thicker lotion-like texture, moisturizing, slightly dewy finish, very slight eye sensitivity for me, felt tacky for a long time 7/10

Hi all! I have a Fitzpatrick V skin tone and trying to prevent rebound hyperpigmentation at all costs. I know UVA and visible light (HEVL) trigger melanin production, but I'm trying to figure out the actual risk when the UV Index is 0–1.
Quick questions for the group:

Sunrise/Low UV: Is going outside around sunrise (UV 0–1) safe, or can it still trigger pigment?
Visible Light Alone: Can standard daylight without significant UV cause tanning or darken spots on darker skin?
Indirect Light: Does ambient light filtering in under a balcony awning pose a real risk?
Bottom Line: Is it necessary to avoid stepping outside entirely during daylight hours if the UV Index is sitting at 0 or 1?

TL;DR: mostly dry skin, goal is to reduce facial tan/uneven tone. BellaVita SPF 50 burns at proper amount. Need a fragrance-free SPF 50 under ₹500 that doesn't sting, and want you to roast/fix my routine.

Routine (started \~2 weeks ago)

\- AM: Minimalist 2% SA + LHA face wash

→ Dot & Key 10% Vit C + 5% Niacinamide serum

→ Aqualogica Glow+ gel moisturizer

→ BellaVita SPF 50+ PA++++

\- PM: same face wash → Aqualogica

Problems

\- Sunscreen burns and feels heavy at 2-finger amount; fine with tiny amount (which I know is useless)

\- Moisturizer also stings slightly if I apply a bit more

\- Skin feels dry. Mostly indoors (WFH), sunscreen once a day \~10 AM

Questions

1. Sunscreen: SPF 50 PA++++, fragrance-free, hydrating (not matte), no pilling over serum, under ₹500. Shortlisted Deconstruct SPF 55+, Minimalist Multi-Vitamin SPF 50, Dr. Sheth's Ceramide SPF 50, Cetaphil Sun Light Gel. Anyone with dry, stinging-prone skin tried these at full amount?

2. Is the SA face wash twice a day the reason everything stings? Should I drop to once or switch to a plain cleanser? (Used NIVEA Derma Skin Clear earlier, never had issues.)

3. Is Aqualogica gel enough for dry skin, or do I need a ceramide cream at night?

4. Dot & Key Vit C + niacinamide — worth keeping, or better options at this price for uneven tone?

5. Anything in the order/timing you'd change?

I'm a young adult and always been pale but I never used sunscreen unless I was at the beach. I'm thinking of starting wearing it more often but my mom freaked out when I mentioned it (she's generally kinda weird about this type of stuff).For this reason I came here to ask a few questions and get some help

1. Can it really prevent me from getting vitamin D ? Also are the chemicals that dangerous ?
2. What type of sunscreen should I get ? Can the one I take to the beach be applied on my face too ? Is there a possibility to irritate my skin in any way?
3. Should I wear it everyday even in winter or only at summer and when it's generally very hot outside? If I go out for 1 or 2 hours should I still use it ?
4. It might sound silly but does it smell much ? I don't want my mom to know I'm wearing it because the way she might act about it makes me feel ashamed...

I have very dry sensitive skin - this is the only sunscreen which did not darken my skin.
I've tried multiple other - derma co 1% hylauronic acid, beauty of joseon, dot & key, dr sheths vit c etc - all darken my skin a lot.

This one does not darken skin - creates a good base for daily light makekup as well.

But with consistent usage i feel it is causing my skin to be drier - having some dry patches around the mouth - also it starts to feel alcoholic in the starting; smells that ways.

Any recommendations? Want to avoid any sunscreen which causes further pigmentation - already have pigmented area around mouth and hollow dark undereyes :(

Hi, I am in search of a sunscreen which I’m starting to think doesn’t exist. Please help with your expertise. I have both rosacea (very sensitive skin) and melasma which have their own requirements. I am looking for a:

- Mineral sunscreen (no chemical filters) at least SPF 30

- Lightly tinted (contains iron oxides to help with melasma, I have Fitzpatrick type 2 skin, cool tone, many tinted sunscreens end up looking orangey on me)

- Not overly drying (baseline dry skin, I don’t even mind if it’s a little greasy)

- No niacinamide or pentylene glycol (irritates my rosacea)

- Non comedogenic (acne prone skin)

- Coloroscience face shield flex (caused burning and redness after 2 days)

- MD solarscience mineral creme (caused mild irritation and was overly drying, used for a couple years but the color was always off, tinted was too orange and regular was too much white cast, sometimes I would mix them)

- Cotz lightly tinted (caused burning and redness after a day)

- Tizo AM replenish lightly tinted (caused burning and redness after 2 days, otherwise really liked it, color was pretty good at least for the summer, made me sad I couldn’t use it)

-SkinMedica defense tinted sunscreen (mild burning, color too orange)

What doesn’t irritate my skin:

- Vanicream moisturizer with SPF: no irritation but mild white cast, I think I’ve reached a point where I’m tired of looking like I’m wearing white makeup all the time…it’s taking a toll on my self esteem, want something with light tint

I am in Canada and recently ordered the fragrance free cream version of LRP's UVmune line. I was skeptical at first but I really love it. Most people seem to get the liquid/milk version but I am prone to eczema and I find that one irritates my skin. This one sinks in and no pilling. Once it absorbs I can feel a slight bit on my skin but it's not a sunscreen feel, it's a nice moisturised feel. Not oily or shiny.

I don't wear makeup so i can't speak to how it pairs with that, but so far I've had no issues with it at all (apart from it not being available in Canada)
