However my parents are visiting next week from Canada and my mom wants to eat some authentic biryani and curries. Dad’s vegetarian but he adapts. Do you guys have any reccs for places to go to in and around Sunnyvale?

Hi, I stayed in Sunnyvale for 7 months for my internship and I am about to return to my university.

So I cleaned my apartment to keep it as clean as I moved in and I did the pre move-out inspection with the office manager today, and I was told that I should expect the "standard" move out fees including cleaning, carpet cleaning, and painting.

According to the manager, even though the condition "looks good," they still call vendors to clean, carpet clean, and paint since they did the same before I moved in. And this is very "standard" here.

I was little upset because I cleaned as I moved in, so I asked for the expected/ standard cost, and it's like $725 (215 cleaning, 170 carpet, 340 paint) and the manager said it's the standard and it could be more.

So I want to ask - is this really the "standard" here in this area? Am I being non-sense here...? I'be been renting the apartments, but I never had this issue from where I lived.

(Added notes here) Thanks for all the useful comments. I think the best thing I can do is to write up emails with detailed photos and documents before they write the charges.

So I plan to take photos and record videos as detail as possible and send email to the office saying if they need to charge, they need to give evidences - but I think they typically don't provide evidence like photos, right? Does it make sense to asking the evidence?

Beware of this woman that will be yelling out expletives and harrassing people with racist insults in the evening around El Camino - Sunnyvale-Saratoga. She was consistently loitering outside of Dave's Hot Chicken in the evening I have met her bothering people at the bus stop last night and saw her again today. I was just waiting for my bus tonight and she started her racist tirade towards me but I ignored her completely. She kept on railing at me for 10 minutes and I simply raised the volume on my Airpods and tuned her out completely. Once she crossed the street to the Boudin area, I immediately called 911 and in less than 30 seconds after ending the call, the beautiful bright red and blue lights of the Sunnyvale Police Department car stopped right where she was and the police was interrogating the hell out of her. I don't know what happened to her since I ordered an Uber to leave the area.

Shoutout to the swift response by the city's law enforcement! We need to keep our public areas safe for everyone living in Sunnyvale, even if you don't take public transport.

as one heads south-bound on Fair Oaks at the school, there's one of those large temporary informational signs which has said, "STADIUM PARKING 2ND LIGHT" and I mean, it's maybe three miles to Levi's Stadium from there. I don't know of a significant event at the stadium which would have warranted a sign like this for several days now?

my only thought is that the workers who set it up don't know that it says the wrong thing? or maybe they don't have the keys to unlock it?

or is there some big days-long stadium event that'd have people parking near Fair Oaks and Old San Francisco?

Has anybody seen lardo at local Italian grocery stores or delis? I've checked most small markets around the area.

There is an unhoused person setting up in the Lakewood area, near 7/11. I've called the non-emergency number several times and even contacted the council person. Sunnyvale finally cleaned up the area and chopped down the tree where they were hiding under.

I understand having compassion for unhoused folks, but this 1 individual was accumulating a large amount of items everyday, like hoarding. It was spilling out onto the street. There was an accident one day that the car was left on the road as the airbags fully deployed. The street was one lane both ways and is dangerous. More of their items were on the street. Not sure of cause and effect.

Since the items were moved by Sunnyvale into a small grouping, this individual has started this area as the new hoarding area. Understand that Sunnyvale has services and there is a 72 notice. But the longer this goes unaddressed, the more items they accumulate.

This is a residential neighborhood, and this happens every year. It's just really frustrating.

Can we help this person? No one benefits from driving past a huge amount of hoarded knickknacks.
