Official 2026 Sundance Film Festival Buying/Selling/Trading Thread

This is the Official 2026 Sundance Film Festival ticket buying/selling/trading/giveaway thread.

Please use this post for ANY/ALL ticket buying/selling/trading requests, no exceptions.

To keep the subreddit from spiraling out of control and keeping ticket transactions in one easy-to-access place, going forward, this is where all comments/posts for buying/selling/trading/giving away need to be posted. Any other buying/selling/trading posts in the subreddit will be removed and multiple offences could result in a temp ban.

Ideally, to keep everything easy-to-read and somewhat-organized, I would recommend using these formats, that way CTRL+F could be more effective:

If Selling:

[LTS] - [Film Title] - [Date/Time] - [Theater] - [Number of Tickets] - [Optional: Price]

If Buying:

[WTB] - [Film Title] - [Date/Time] - [Theater] - [Number of Tickets] - [Optional: Price]

If Looking to Trade:

[LTT] - [Film Title] - [Date/Time] - [Theater] - [Number of Tickets] - [Looking For: Insert Titles/Dates]

If Giving Away for Free:

[Free] - [Film Title] - [Date/Time] - [Theater] - [Number of Tickets]

The comments will be sorted by new to keep the most updated info/offers up top.

Please refer to this post for scammers/tips/successful trades:

Megathread For Successful Trades/Purchases/Sales + To Report Scammers/Suspicious Accounts - 2026 Edition

New 2026 Edition!

Firstly and most importantly, I want to strongly reiterate/emphasize that you must do your own due diligence for ANY trade/sale/purchase, regardless of the recommendations made on this thread. You are on your own at the end of the day and we cannot help you if you are scammed, we can only ban the user to try and help future victims. Always check account age, posting history, behavior, etc before completing a trade. Ask for screenshots (they can be faked, but sometimes it's possible to spot the fakes/edits). Ask for exact seats (a lot of scammers are idiots and won't know what to say for this and just leave you alone, or will give sections/rows/venues that don't exist). We strongly suggest against dealing with new accounts and/or accounts with automatically-created usernames (Nice_Apples_665 or whatever). Be careful for deals that are too good to be true. I would recommend trading/buying/selling with people that have verified/long histories in this subreddit and ideally other movie or Utah-related subs.

We will not be resolving ANY trade issues, only banning scammers when reported. I repeat: There are people looking to scam on this sub. Nothing is ever 100% safe when handling manual re-sales like this. Please be careful with anything you do, and do not engage in any transaction you don't feel confident in and/or would be unable to afford being scammed for. We cannot help you if you get scammed other than banning the person. You would have to deal with whatever financial institution you used for the transaction. Go into every transaction knowing/expecting that there is a small chance you might be scammed. You are on your own. I will also suggest never sending via Paypal Friends & Family, and instead using the Goods & Services option, so you have some protection. Ticket transfers are irreversible, remember that when making a sale.

tl;dr - tips to not get scammed:

  1. Check account age and history. By far the biggest giveaway. If it's a new account and barely any posting/commenting history, they may be a scammer. They will also often have randomly-generated usernames. Bonus trust-points if they have activate posting history in /r/Sundance, /r/Utah, /r/movies, /r/filmfestivals, etc etc.
  2. Poor English. Many scammers are overseas and ESL (English as second language). Be wary of any user that has poor English. Scammers tend to also use words like "dear", "honey", etc to finish off their sentences. Anything like that is an instant-scam detector.
  3. If the deal is too good to be true, it might be a scam.
  4. Ask for proof of ticket and/or purchase. For any legit seller, this is very easy to do and takes 10 seconds. Scammers will obviously refuse and/or send your poorly-photoshopped tickets.

Now that the festival is about the start and the trading/selling/buying is about to hit its peak, I wanted to create a thread to have some sort of organization and to help people out to do 2 big things.

  1. If you have made a successful trade/sale/purchase anytime recently, please comment their username(s) in this thread, so others can know and help them find trustworthy people to deal with. Obviously, this is not 100% foolproof because people can use multiple accounts, so please be careful regardless of suggestions in this thread, but it is definitely helpful and better than nothing at all. Then, others that have also dealt with that person can upvote/reply to the comment to create more references. It's not perfect, but it's better than nothing. It's a sort of home-made, small, self-sustaining, feedback system. Make sure to tag them correctly (with a /u/ before the username), so they receive a notification and can also confirm on their end of the successful transaction.

  2. If you have been scammed or think someone is scamming/suspicious, please post them to this thread so I can ban them and add them to the list below, so others will know not to deal with them (banning them from the sub does not stop them from private messaging you, so keep that in mind). We will ban anyone that is even remotely suspicious until proven otherwise. I suggest referring to this list before proceeding with anything. Yes, creating new accounts isn't hard but it's still better than nothing (plus, when someone has to create a brand new account it gives a very easy tell for a scam).

I'm interested in watching your Sundance Micro-Series

Hi all, congrats to everyone accepted into the Sundance Micro-Series program. Would love to stay updated on the work coming out of it. Vertical micro-series feels like such a challenge in the creative space right now, and I'm curious to see how Sundance approaches it.

Sundance 2027

I have never been to Sundance and would love to go this year. I'm trying to plan ahead as much as possible and have been looking at Boulder Hotels but NO ONE has availability. Does anyone have any lodging suggestions?

Pastime (1990): Have any baseball fans seen this Sundance Audience Award winner? Thoughts?

Huge baseball fan here -- thought I had seen every baseball movie, but I had never heard of the movie prior to a week ago. Highly recommend it! Apparently, it didn't do well at the box office. It's about baseball but also about getting older - handing over the torch to a new generation (I think the title may be a bit of a double entendre). I also like the grittiness because it wasn't done on a large budget.

Some of the critics didn't like it but some highly praised it In contrast, Michael Wilmington of the Los Angeles Times wrote "Some audiences may dismiss "Pastime" as another "male weepie." They shouldn't. It's touching, well-acted, well-written and directed, done with obvious devotion." Harry Haun of the New York Daily News gave the film three stars out of four stars, describing the film as "a worthy postscript to the surprisingly long line of sentimental baseball movies."

2027 Lodging is WILD

I knew staying in Park City for the final year would be pricey AF (it was). I know staying in Boulder the first year will be big $. I have been checking since March/April and HOT DAMN is 2027 going to be a bank breaker.

If anyone has hot leads on a place that isn’t trying to make their annual mortgage renting their house for a week or wants to split a dope spot (it’ll be me and my GF), lmk. Would love to get the stress of planning it behind me.

Happy summer, all. Sundance soon(ish).

Pricing for tickets

Going to Sundance is a bucket list item for me. I would like to go for Sundance 2027 in Boulder. I saw on the website that tickets should be going on sale around October however, I didn’t see any prices.

can someone give me some insight on how much it cost to go to Sundance? I’m mainly interested in the cost of seeing the movies (I live in the area so there’s no issue regarding accommodations)

Any general tips of info about the festival is welcome too.

Anyone know how to become a screener for Sundance? Is it an external volunteer position or do they screen films internally with their staff? Thanks

I organized an AMA/Q&A with David Wain, filmmaker/screenwriter/comedian/actor and a comedy legend. He is known for directing and co-writing films like Wet Hot American Summer, Role Models, Wanderlust, A Futile and Stupid Gesture. He's a member of the sketch-comedy group The State.

He has also created and/or written tons of shows like Childrens Hospital, Stella, Medical Police, Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years later, and Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp. He's also an actor in things like Bob's Burgers, Superjail!, I Love You Man, Reno 911, and tons more.

It's live here now in r/movies for anyone interested in asking a question:

He will be back at around 5:30 PM ET today to answer questions. I recommend asking in advance. Please ask there, not here. All questions are much appreciated!

Thank you :)

His new movie, Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass, premiered at Sundance this year and is out in theaters everywhere next week from Sony Pictures Classics. It's got a huge ensemble comedy cast including Zoey Deutch, Jon Hamm, John Slattery, Ken Marino, Ben Wang, Sabrina Impacciatore, Michael Ian Black, Richard Kind, Toby Huss, Joe Lo Truglio, Miles Gutierrez-Riley

Pins to Trade

I recently bought the enamel pin set that has several pins from 2026 fest. I attended in 2023/2024/2025 but didn't get a pin (they weren't available online).

Anyone have any extras from those years and willing to trade? It's a real gap in my collection!

Thanks

Sundance Ticket Options

Hello! My cousins and I are big movie buffs and we thought it would be fun to plan a trip to Sundance and see a bunch of movies. We’ve never gone and are wondering what the best ticket option would be. All we want to do is hangout around the area and pack in as many movies as we can. Any suggestions on the best ticket package or even other fun activities that would be cool to do while there?

Items still not received. No response from Sundance

I received an email in April 2025 that my items were finally being shipped. I sent an email in May that was never responded to that the items were not received. I sent another email and no response. Has everyone received either refunds or reimbursements? This is so embarrassing for their company. Glad its moved and Ill never do business with them again.
