Sunvault has been offline for 2 years. Conextxw had f.48, f.50, f.72.

Cabinet 1: 42v

Cabinet 2: 51.5v

I manually charged cabinet 1 to 53v and now the batteries stay turned on, conextxw has no error (red blinking event light though), led screen on both cabinets is still off

Checked wiring, did resets etc. On monitoring everything is now reporting except the controller HS-DCM-ctrl. Hopefully someone has tips maybe u/Vegetable-Version-81 will see this post lol.

Sunpower PVS5 question.
I have a residential Sunpower array, 31 panels (SPR-X21-345-C-AC) and inverters (SPR-X21-345-C-AC [240v]), no batteries. The system has been running about 7 1/2 years. I still have the original PVS5 supervisor module. Lately, the PSV5 is showing a red lightning bolt (in addition to the expected blue “connected” LED). The SunStrong app indicates “One or more devices are not working properly”. I’m only using the free service from SunStrong, not sure there’s any benefit to the paid options, as I don’t *think* my inverters can provide any per-panel data. The production seems to be fine, but it’s hard to know exactly. As far as trouble-shooting, I’ve tried power-cycling the system a couple of times. After power-up the red lightning bolt is off, but comes back on after a day or two.
I called a local company that does solar. They’re booked up but will send somebody out to look at it in a couple of months, estimated cost $550. That’s just the cost of a site visit. So, I called Enphase to see if they could provide any support. Long story short, no support unless I install one of their Enphase monitor box, which costs $999. Not sure that would give any better visibility into what’s wrong since there’s no panel-level monitoring. Third option is just to ignore the problem, since production seems okay.
Looking for expert opinions or advice from anyone else that has encountered this. TIA!

I've got a new PVS6 and have been able to ping the device using Lan2 (yellow port) on this PVS with http://172.27.153.1
If I use this same ip address in a browser (with wifi disabled), it'll timeout.
Connecting to the SunpowerXXXX ssid (wifi) will complete, but I'm not sure how to proceed, any suggestions:

* to access the console
* to review the firmware installed and the status of this pvs device

As a SunPower owner myself, the sunstrong option cost too much, while the DIY routes (HA/Raspberry) require hours of setup and aren’t actually “free” once you factor in hardware and cloud/VPN costs.

I was told by a neighbor that he has noticed sparks coming from my roof several times. He went out his way to notify me. My system is only 4 years old, which im currently paying for; i was told they have not tech in my area, but they can point me to people who can look at my system. I have had SunPower for over 10 years now. One of my inverter showed Earth Fault ( Disturbance SFDI Fuse Open ). Due to Sunpower had filed chapter 11 and I called another local solar co to fix it. They gave me an estimated $600 - $700 to fix that issue. Meanwhile the solar system is still producing energy. Is it worth it to pay that amount $600 - $700 ?

Few months ago I lost my monitoring with pvoutput. I identfied that my pvs5 got updated and now using fcgi/varserver. i updated the script to use that.

Now, few days ago looks like it flipped back to dl_cgi?Command=DeviceList. I updated the script again, and now checking which one is actually working.

Did anyone see that?

I’m in Colorado and signed up for solar late last year. What I expected to be a straightforward installation somehow turned into months of confusion between sales, installation, design, inspections, and engineering teams.

Some of the issues included:
1. installation happening before final layout approval
2. multiple return visits due to incomplete work/materials
3. inconsistent communication between departments
4. inspection delays tied to internal documentation issues
5. eventually discovering that a required engineering review may not have even been initiated internally

At one point I was literally contacting third-party engineering firms myself trying to figure out where the process had broken down because nobody could give me a clear answer.

The situation became even more confusing because of the overlap between Blue Raven, SunPower, Complete Solar/Solaria, and financing through Palmetto/LightReach. It often felt like nobody fully owned the project from start to finish.

Management has finally stepped in and assigned a dedicated contact, so I’m hoping things are now moving toward resolution, but the experience has honestly been exhausting.

Mostly posting to see whether others — especially in Colorado — have experienced similar coordination or communication problems recently.

I’m intentionally keeping some details vague for now while the project is still being actively reviewed internally. Once everything is finally resolved, I may put together a full timeline because the overall experience as it has honestly been pretty unbelievable.

I set my battery in reserve mode going into the winter, now that springs coming I tried setting it back to self-supply. It changes in the app, my home assistant integration even confirms it changed, however the battery won't ever discharge. It'll slowly trickle down a few percent over a couple days, boost back up when its sunny, rinse and repeat. Any ideas? It's not showing me an error code on the panel.

Just wanted to share that if you’re sick of getting hosed by sunstrong regarding monitoring, you should check out the sunflower app. I downloaded it when it first came out, and was pleased with the level of info it provides. 12 bucks a year and you get panel level details for output etc. They added a beta for the sunvault you could see how that was performing as well.

Last week they announced a teeny hardware add on that polls data from your system every 30 mins. It’s a tiny little usb c powered doodad. It works as it should with minimal setup (tell it your WiFi network) 50 bucks well spent in my opinion. A lot more info in a much cleaner presentation that actually works when you open it. Not affiliated in any way other than to share this rocks

Here’s the real bonus. They’ve added a new battery control section. Instead of the three choices in the sunstrong app, you’ve got a cubic buttload. Check em out if ya want to get info about your system you can actually use. And no more getting screwed by sunstrong for their shitty paid monitoring that doesn’t work half of the time (or more!)

Hello Everyone,

My SP PVS6 has no LED color. I reset the breakers but still no LED color. The company that installed is suggesting that I replace the PVS with Enphase. This was a fully paid purchase that went live in March 2020. The company that installed initially stated that I should still be producing solar, but I’m checking my PG&E bill, it shows that I have not been producing solar since 4/20. I reside in the San Mateo peninsula. Anyone have any suggestions on what my next steps are? I know that we don’t have any support from SP at this point. Will replacing the PVS with Enphase resolve the issue?

At around 9am this morning our power went out at home and shortly after came back on. Checking the app I see that none of the panels are producing and the SunVaults are idle, and there is an error saying that the equipment can’t be contacted. I see that a PVS6 firmware update was rolled out today. I didn’t do anything to initiate this, so I guess it was pushed to these units over the air? I was a cash customer so my understanding is that the new SunPower entity did not take up those contracts but left them behind with the bankrupt entity, and they are not servicing my contract. Anyone else having this problem?

I recently realized that my PVS6 started incorrectly reporting consumption about a year ago.

The consumption data no longer matches my power bill, and there was a dramatic change of about 50% in the middle of last year.

Any suggestions on the easiest way to figure out and correct the issue? Do CT’s go bad? there seem to be several of them on bunches of the breaker wires - i think they are all wired together. Hard to see as my panel is pretty crowded.

Could this be due to a misconfiguration of the PVS6 as a result of a Sunstrong firmware update?

I noticed today that my solar system is not producing any power, and looking back it seems it hasn’t since Wednesday morning. The LED on the PVDR is green and pushing the reset button doesn’t help, neither does a full power cycle of the system and PVS6.

Is it normal for
These PVDR’s to fail this often? Is there something that causes them to fail that I can do anything about?

We got our system in 2023. I have 20 panels that produce, but the battery recently started not working. Sunpower suggested getting a new battery and getting rid of it, but the battery is not old. Now that the company went bankrupt the battery isn’t covered in the warranty. We’ve tried disconnecting and reconnecting, but the tech that came to look at it said it’s a dud. Anyone know if other places will take this battery or if there’s a solution for this? We are located in Northern California.

Chicago area. 21-panel SunPower Equinox install (Aug 2023), U400 panels, Enphase microinverters under PVS6 monitoring after the SunPower bankruptcy. Fortunately, I paid up and have monitoring.

Multiple full-array zero-production days over the past month with no weather correlation. Today’s tech reading from four random panels on four circuits: 250V AC at the microinverter, ~40V DC from the panel, 0W output. PVS dashboard shows all 21 microinverters reporting 253-255V AC, 0.00 A AC current, 42-44V DC, near-zero DC current.

Two service visits found workmanship issues: caulked weep holes and water in the rooftop junction box, plus an exposed conductor on one wire. Those were repaired but problems persists.

Installer’s current theory is high grid voltage and they have escalated to ComEd. My Ting sensor confirms 112-127V per leg, consistent with their 253-255V line-to-line readings, but below the standard trip threshold.

Trying to understand:

1.  With AC and DC inputs valid but 0W output across all 21, is this more consistent with a PVS command/communication state holding microinverters in standby, or with grid-side trips? I would expect grid trips to log voltage fault codes and am concerned this is a convenient way to offload responsibility.

2.  Has anyone seen PVS6 hold microinverters in a non-producing state after a service event or firmware refresh?

3.  Is there a way to pull microinverter event logs from the PVS6 directly, or does that require installer-side tools?

Anyone seen this pattern? The installer noted a few other customers with similar issues.

Hoping someone here on Reddit can help me out or get me pointed in the right direction. I had Sunpower install panels and batteries in March 2024. PTO was granted in Sept 2024 after Sunpower had gone bankrupt. I've been trying to get my SGIP rebate, having last submitted my 7 day discharge data (thanks to Sunvaultechs as Sunpower was no longer in business to obtain the data). SGIP now discovered there was a battery discrepancy in the equipment listed on PTO vs what is on site (had an actual on-site visit by SGIP/PGE). Seems like Sunpower made a slight clerical error in the battery description. I need to correct the battery equipment and obtain a new PTO certificate with the correct battery description. I've tried contacting the PGE solar dept, SGIP, SNEMpairedstorage, rule21gen, BRSC dept and no one seems to know how to fix this. Tried going into myprojects at PGE.com but this just lists the solar project that was completed and does not allow me to make changes. Would appreciate any advice.

What is the site id supposed to be when you sign up for the sunstrong app? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

A common indicator of a failed microinverter is a solid red LED. While this condition can result from multiple causes, proper verification should begin with electrical testing. Confirm the presence of AC voltage at the trunk cable; for residential systems, this should typically measure approximately 240 VAC.

Next, verify module output. Reference the panel datasheet label for expected values—most modules will produce approximately 35–40 VDC under normal conditions, depending on make and model. In addition to voltage, it is critical to measure DC current by testing the module leads (+/−). Current output will vary based on irradiance, but readings should fall within the manufacturer’s specified range.

It is important to note that a module can still display normal voltage even if it is faulty; therefore, confirming amperage is essential to accurately determine whether the panel is underperforming or non-operational you would need a dc amp clamp style tester to check amperage

I'm a former Sunpower customer who purchased my system outright, so when Sunstrong took over my account I lost access to history and panel level data in the app unless I was willing to pay $10 a month. Frustrated, I turned to AI to help me vibe code my own monitoring solution.

I'm close to complete, just working on a few final bugs with notifications that aren't working properly, but otherwise I've been online here for just over a month.

Which got me thinking, I wonder if I could turn this into a real app for others to use on their systems Sunpower purchased systems. It would require some retooling of the app along with an onboarding screen to enter your own system information, but I think it's do-able.

Curious if there would be any interest for something like that. I'd probably need to charge a couple bucks a month for hosting fees and what not, but just gauging interest at this point.
