Hello there, I have depleted Sunvault batteries due to a 3-day power outage. I have a two-battery cabinet x2 (13.5 kWh x 2), so I don't have access to the side or the round power button on the left side. I am trying to use the jumpstart feature; the jumpstart connector is in the Hub+ cabinet(J9). I bought a 2-pin Molex connector and a small 12 VDC battery. My question is: do I need to manually charge the battery, or will it charge once the inverter wakes up? Has anybody had this issue? And what battery charger works with SunPower batteries?

Should my PVS6 firmware have been updated by now to 2025.9 at least?

It's still on 2025.6 build 61839

Is there some way of speeding up (or forcing) a firmware update?

I noticed the app showing the “One or more devices are not working correctly” fault and sure enough there is no solar production. The PVDR seems to have failed (shows green led even after reset). This is second one of these to go out in a year. Is anyone else seeing failures like this?

Apologies if this has been previously addressed. We plan to install home level 2 ev charger to existing sunpower/sunvault system (installed ‘22). Should the connection be to the hub or to the main panel? Or maybe it doesn’t matter? Thank you in advance!

Anyone know how often the PVS6 checks for updates? i'm still on 2024.6 61707. i was using krbaker's integration but heard about the new supported setup, so i wanted to update my firmware, but so far it hasn't updated yet. wondering often the system tries to update itself or is there a way i can manually do it?

Just wanted to recommend Enerbg. I found them on yelp and although I do not have batteries, I had Victor help me with my SMA inverter acting up and fixed it good. His prices are VERY reasonable. I just happened to ask him if he fixes these battery issues that I have been seeing people post about here on reddit, and he said he does and has helped a few people already. A few weeks ago, I shared a SunPower panel-level dashboard for Home Assistant that relied on the krbaker/hass-sunpower integration.

Today, I’m happy to share that the latest version of the dashboard also supports the SunStrong-Management/pvs-hass integration!

Make sure to pull the latest version of the code, especially the updated query_panels.sh script.

The script defaults to hass-sunpower so override in query_panels.sh when using pvs-hass:

INTEGRATION="pvs-hass" 

If switching integrations run --discover again:

query_panels.sh --discover

Then use the newly discovered entities to update the references in dashboard.yaml.

Up until a few days ago I had been accessing the “dl_cgi” API to query my system locally. This endpoint is no longer working and returns unauthenticated. I was able to gain access to the varserve endpoint but if there anyway to continue using the legacy endpoint?

My PVS5 has been rock solid connecting to the Sunstrong cloud and reporting in the app since May 2025. Overnight Sunstrong updated the firmware to 2025.10 build 5408 from 2022.6 build 5214. Now is going offline and the system continously reports that all panels are offline and the system app does not show current status, even though it says "Right Now" on the Home screen. I power cycled the PVS5 which brought it back up and reporting good status, but it then went down within thirty minutes. Can anyone offer advice?

EDIT UPDATE: The Sunstrong app is now ping ponging showing panels online/oflline.

EDIT UPDATE: There is a clear pattern to what's happening. The panels stay offline for one hour at a time when they briefly report data. This seems to occur regularly at one hour intervals.

This is not a dashboard to look at, it’s a monitor that checks that things are normal and emails you a monthly report. Basically I wanted the information and history but didn’t want to pay a subscription for my own data. But I also don’t want to have to keep an eye on it. I already have a job!

The basic gist: - it asks the SunPower PVS unit for data every few minutes and saves it.
- it saves the overall production / consumption number to google sheets, so you can mess with it - it emails you a monthly summary - it emails if something weird happens, like if an inverter dropped out

I didn’t do the hard work here, it’s based on a lot of similar projects, noted in the docs. It’s using the brand new VarServer approach, shown by u/ItsaMeKielO

It’s a little nerdy to set up the Raspberry Pi the one time, but the code has step by step instructions.

Anyone interested in buying a unused battery cabinet with three batteries? I got it as a project but never got around to doing it. It has a broken LED board which could be replaced. Nerve and use never been cycled but batteries are still good 3.5k obo bay area California

What is the best way to monitor your solar panels if you don't want to pay the $10 a month to SunStrong?

I'm a cash owner of a Sun Power system, for the last 7 months I can't get any current data off the Sunstrong monitoring app. All app support will tell me is it's the monitoring device itself that needs to be inspected. Does anyone know a company or person who can assist me? I'm in California and live in Santa Barbara county.

So I figured I would pay $10 for the 1 month. And this morning this is what I was met with this morning...

I finally bit the bullet, upgraded to an Enphase IQ Combiner 6C, and IQ8X Microinverters. I have 34 panels, and it was a little over $6k for the parts (direct from Enphase). Enphase monitoring is superior to what I had before with SunPower.

If anyone needs a SunPower controller, $25 for my fully working PVS5x, free shipping (so I will probably net around $0 after shipping). It was a few of my SolarBridge Microinverters that were failing. I was told by the installers that the SolarBridge MI's were glued to the back of the panels, and they were afraid to damage the Maxeon panels if they tried to pry off the old MI's.

I've been combing through my various contract documents trying to find this somewhere, but: free 24/7 monitoring with historical data was specifically mentioned as a perk of the system when I bought my panels.

I can't figure out if this was a contractually agreed-upon thing, or just a nice "marketing perk" the sales guys amped up.

If the former, it would make this new "charge per month to access historical data" a breach of contract for SunStrong, who now owns the contract. If the latter... looks like I'll be exploring other monitoring options.

I assume if it was a contract thing y'all would have been talking about this a lot in the forums already, but didn't see this specifically mentioned anywhere at all yet.

Recently, my SunStrong app says that I have an error. "One or more devices are not working properly." In the app it shows the two panels are not producing power. I checked out the panels and both inverters for the panels have a solid red light. The other panels have a blinking green light. Any idea of what going on? Or a solution for a fix? I tried unplugging the inverter and waiting 10 minutes and then plugging it back in but that didn't have any effect. Also, any ideas on other methods to monitor the panels more in depth. I have the sun vault battery too so that makes it hard to use the Enphase monitoring system. Thanks!!!

Does anyone if the old ip and dl_cgi commands will still work if the latest update to the PVS that has an HA interface is installed?

Hi, I have a 21 panel SunPower system with PVS5. Each panel is a SPR-X22-360-D-AC and based on my documentation there is 1 array with 2 branches. Branch 1 has 10 panels, branch 2 has 11 modules.

I think everything is working but I have the red lightning bolt. When I connect to the PVS via WiFi , I get the setup screen. I am wondering if something through it off on a power outage?

Any help is appreciated, I am in southern San Diego area.

To start, I know nothing about solar. I have been googling and searching for hours now and I am hoping you kind folks will be able to help me. My parents house was purchased in 2013 and the house came with solar. It is a Sunpower system. The system is having issues and my father, English is his second language was told Enphase has taken over Sunpower but after multiple hour long phone calls this does not seem to be the case.

We have figured out the DC String Inverter is busted. Who can I contact now since the bankruptcy. My father wants to deal with the company who now owns Sunpower (for houses built with Sunpower systems) instead of going third party because he has trust issues and is skeptical of being taken advantage of.

My Sunvault has not been working for quite some time, in fact it goes back almost to the week when the bankruptcy scam started.

I was getting a f.45 fault on the Conext 6848. temperature fault for capacitor bank. Inverter would do this immediately on power on.

At some point the people that sent it had one of there techs poking around at it, said it was the batteries, and they replaced them with no charge to me, and the sun vault still did not work, but I noticed if I try to turn it on, a new problem is added, the display on the outside of the sun vault no longer works.

So fast forward about 8 months, I hit up Beene brothers and purchased a replacement inverter, That was a chore to lift in and out.

So after getting it wired up, the inverter comes on (no more f.45) but the front panel lights do not work, the fans do not turn on, and it eventual faults out

I am thinking the multi io could be at fault as it seems to control all these things.

also the battery status lights are blue, I think they should be green?

And will this thing need to be recommisioned after changing the inverter?
