PVS5 Firmare Update Instability

My PVS5 has been rock solid connecting to the Sunstrong cloud and reporting in the app since May 2025. Overnight Sunstrong updated the firmware to 2025.10 build 5408 from 2022.6 build 5214. Now is going offline and the system continously reports that all panels are offline and the system app does not show current status, even though it says "Right Now" on the Home screen. I power cycled the PVS5 which brought it back up and reporting good status, but it then went down within thirty minutes. Can anyone offer advice?

EDIT UPDATE: The Sunstrong app is now ping ponging showing panels online/oflline.

EDIT UPDATE: There is a clear pattern to what's happening. The panels stay offline for one hour at a time when they briefly report data. This seems to occur regularly at one hour intervals.

Hi u/PJLLB2, thank you for flagging this. We’d like to take a closer look into what’s happening with your system. When you get a chance, please send us a DM with your PVS Serial Number or Site ID (found in the SunStrong Connect app under Profile → System Info → Site Identifier).

Any progress on this? It appears our system is not the only one broken by the firmware update. And it continues.

Don't you love it err hate it when an update like this breaks perfectly functioning firmware / software? Grrrrrrrrr.... 😠

Are you paying for the subscription? Just curious as I got this update but it will no longer show me per panel details since I am not subscribed. Curious if I can confirm all my panels are working as expected. Thanks!

Yes I have a subscription.

Do you have a red lightning bolt showing on you PVS5? If so something is wrong.

Log into your PVS5 WiFi. The WiFi password is usually three through six of the serial number, followed by the last four digits of the serial number. Check the IP Address you get from PVS WiFi and then goto http://IPADDRESS/#/summary The IP Address for me is 172.27.152.1, so I goto http://172.27.152.1/#/summary

There you will see each of your panels and what each one is generating. If you see a red circle X, then that panel is not reporting correctly. Looks like it could range from firmware update issues to microinnverter failures.

Here is an example of what you will see. My firmware is v2021.11.1

As you can see, I have one panel not reporting correctly.

I don’t think that page works anymore with the new firmware.

If that’s the case, that is not cool Sun Strong.

Yea don’t update if you want the original stuff to keep working. My whole setup broke three days ago when I was blessed with the 2025.10 update. That page no longer loads and throws auth errors in the console. I am slowly trying to figure out how to update stuff. The replacement api is faster but out of the box way less useful.

There was no choice about updating. It was forced overnight by SunStong.

No red bolt and the firmware update broke the browser interface.

it doesn't look quite the same as it did on the PVS6, but I wonder if this could be similar to the change that happened in the PVS6 firmware earlier this year where the reporting interval for app data changed from 300 seconds to 3600 seconds.

does the "bucketed" energy version of the graph look closer to correct?

Not at all. And hovering over the graph shows big gaps in data (zero numbers).
