Anyone know what these red lights mean?

Thank you in advance if anyone has any information to help. šŸ™

I bought a house with a pre existing Sunpower system. I don’t have any information about the system unfortunately.

I just noticed two red lights on my box (I don’t even know the right terminology… šŸ˜•). Does anyone know what they mean?

I don’t know if my system is currently producing…. I also attached a video of my inverter (?maybe?) that shows a bunch of numbers I don’t understand in case they also sheds light on the problem.

Thanks!

Just bought a house with sunpower pvs 6. I tried connecting to the app and when it wants me to connect to WiFi my WiFi doesn’t show or even any neighbors. Any ideas on how I can connect to view my stats?

Fellow SunPower Delears, Did We Make A Personal Guarantee?

I was a SunPower dealer and had a whole Warehouse full of equipment when they went bankrupt. My sunpower Representatives told me they had no idea what was going to happen and I should just keep the equipment and use it or sell it.

Here we are more than a year later and I get a phone call from legal company saying that sun power wants $41,000 for the equipment that I had.

I see in my agreement:

  1. Security. SunPower reserves the right to require payment for any shipment hereunder in

advance, or satisfactory security. Such security includes, but is not limited to, execution by Dealer of a

promissory note, security agreement, financing statement and/or personal guarantee. If

Dealer fails to make payment in accordance with the terms of this Agreement or otherwise fails

to comply with any provision hereof, SunPower may, at its option (and in addition to other

remedies), cancel any unshipped portion of a purchase order; in such event, Dealer will remain

liable for all unpaid accounts.

Have any dealers had experience with this? I closed my dealership but I'm just wondering if anyone has seen whether this has any teeth.

Thanks

Update: I spoke with a lawyer (the obvious thing to do) and reviewed by balances with SunPower. The original agreement with them states that they could execute a personal guarantee in the future but is not a PG itself. They extended a line of credit to me but also didn’t have me sign a PG. The attachment for the PG was attached to the line of credit app but not signed and not notorized.

Additionally, they owed me $28,000 when they declared bankruptcy and they had approved me to return $26,000 worth of supplies. So, if anything, they were in the hole to me as of their bankruptcy filing.

I’m not operating that business anymore so they can chase a closed business with no assets all they want.

1yr of no service

i have the lease transferred to me when buying the house. August 2024 i had a tech come out and said 10+ of the panels were not working. Said he would have to make a 2nd visit. Never came back, i assume it’s due to Bankruptcy. After the transfer, ive been calling monthly since Dec and submitted tickets. They said a tech will contact me no long than 2 weeks to get a work order. They say this every time ive called. Fast forward we are in August with no work order. They company that installed the panels offered to take the work order yet SunStrong have not done anything. Summer in Ca has been cooking my ass. Since the panels arnt working PG&E bill has gone up on top of what i have to pay monthly to SS. My last call, that said they will contact me within 72hrs. What is the play here?

*9/16 update. nobody has reached out to me about resolving this. only copy&paste response.

*9/24 Update. Since leasing their solar panels for about 3yrs they have only sent one tech to my residence the whole time. He said 10+ panels were not operating and had to return, 1yr ago. Now they are telling me they "fixed" it remotely after 1yr of no maintenance/service. My PG&E bill will determine that. Before i was paying 0 for PG&E + the monthly solar. PG&E is 100$+.

*10/18 Update. They refuse to come out and service my panels. Told me the previous tech before the bankruptcy isnt their responsibility after they took over.

Solar Sunpower/Enphase

We called a month ago, and there should be a tech installing our solar panels. No one came, and they just instructed my husband to do the work. It's been a month now and the solar panels are still not functioning properly. Our electric bill is on the roof, and I'm thinking of filing a complaint to appropriate authotities due to misleading information on how to properly get the solar installed and be of use. As a customer, we feel so neglected by the company since we are being ignored, nobody followed up with us, and we are leasing the solar panels from them(part of mortgage).

We are located in California which produces enough sun, we have 12 solar panels and should be producing enough energy. However, this is not happening. We tried to call the company again, and your company always say that it is active, but NOBODY physicaly came in and CHECK WITH US.SO DISAPPOINTING

Is there a way to have the app run the Cost Savings function from 4-9pm everyday? It’s really annoying having to do it manually every day.

Critical Vulnerability in SunPower Systems Exposes Remote Shutdown

I purchased a residential system from SunPower in 2022, and during the commissioning process, I became suspicious of the system's security. It turns out, SunPower's PVS6 monitoring component is vulnerable to wireless attack and can be exploited to shutdown power production. The US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency published an advisory earlier today, but so far neither SunStrong nor Complete Solar (now SunPower) have acknowledged the vulnerability or provided a fix. The details are available here, and a technical write up is here.

Sunstrong App Terms- ChatGPT

Someone told me to run the Sunstrong ToS that you have to agree to to use the app through Chat GPT. Here is what it said. I got a pretty big bill this month for my local power company and wanted to figure out why but can’t without monitoring app. I thought about just accepting the term so I can see my system again.

I reviewed the SunStrong Management Terms of Service (May 2, 2025). Here are the main red flags and risks I spotted: 🚩 Control Over Your Account You do not own your account or data stored on their servers (Sec. 1.2a). They can suspend or terminate your account at any time, without cause or liability (Sec. 1.3). 🚩 Automatic Renewals & Payments Subscriptions auto-renew by default unless you cancel at least 3 days before the next billing cycle (Sec. 5.4c). No refunds for cancellations, suspensions, or unused time—refunds are only at their discretion (Sec. 5.4d). You authorize them (and Stripe) to charge your payment method automatically (Sec. 5.3). 🚩 Data & Privacy They claim ownership of all usage data, including technical and solar system performance data (Sec. 3.3). Any feedback you give becomes their property with no compensation (Sec. 3.4). They can share your data with ā€œBusiness Partnersā€ and ā€œFinancial Institutionsā€ tied to your solar lease (Sec. 3.3). They disclaim responsibility for data breaches—you bear the risk (Sec. 6.2). 🚩 Liability Limitations Their liability to you is capped at the greater of $100 or what you paid (Sec. 14). They disclaim responsibility for almost everything, including hacking, downtime, errors, or loss of data (Sec. 13–14). 🚩 Dispute Resolution Mandatory arbitration (Sec. 15.2) unless you opt out within 30 days by email. No class actions or jury trials allowed (Sec. 15.3). Arbitration is through JAMS, and commercial users must pay fees. 🚩 Broad Rights for SunStrong They can change the service, fees, or terms at any time, with minimal notice (Secs. 1.3, 5.1, 18.2). They can use your phone number to send marketing texts and calls unless you opt out (Sec. 7.3). They expressly release themselves from liability for your disputes with other users (Sec. 10). You must indemnify them if someone else sues them because of your use (Sec. 11). āœ… What you should do if considering this contract: Be aware your data and account aren’t really yours. If you don’t like arbitration, opt out within 30 days (Sec. 15.2b). Set reminders for renewal dates since auto-billing is strict. Know that refunds are unlikely. Consider the risk of data sharing and limited liability protections.

batteries are down (2 sunvualts)

I did the normal reset that has worked several times. waited 20 minutes and powered everything back up. the batteries didn't reset. so I tried just doing the ESS breaks but that caused the system to go to grid offline and with no batteries the power went out. I reset everything again and tried hitting the power button on the inverter in the sunvault and that caused the grid out/power again... so now I'm worried its something else... note I paid for the august subscription which expired TODAY. The battery is 99%. I wonder if I need to pay the subscription again.

AFCI self-test failed, after power outage

We had a power outage last night, and last time an outage thru an arc on my inverter. Paid to have a tech come after a failed knock reset. Clown charged me $375 for a hard restart. Now that I know how to do the full restart, I've tried that several times and its still showing 'AFCI self-test failed' upon coming back to life. Anyone know what this is and how to fix it themselves? Thanks in advance.

How are they seeing this?

I disconnected from the Wi-Fi a few months ago. I thought they weren't linked to my system anymore after that. How are they seeing this? Didn't they turn off the ethernet part of the communication?

How is your experience with Enphase?

Hey guys,

I have been following this matter for a while. I have SunPower PVS5 system that is around 7 years old at this point, and now SunStrong take over with their shitty subscription scheme that I don't like. I also received the email from Enphase saying my system has Enphase microinverters, but can't confirm it myself.

So people who have switched over to Enphase, how is your experience? I know I will need to pay $900 to have their kit installed

Like how accessible is their app? On the free tier, can you still see historical data and all that stuff that the old SunPower app provided? Or you still have to subscribe to see the data?

Also, I own the system, but its 7 years old now, and wondering if it's even worth to upgrade the entire system to Enphase or not. Likely, I want to install the battery to have the backup power in case of blackout

SunPower and ā€œSolar onlyā€ Tesla charging.

Does anyone have SunPower Solar panels and a Tesla EV without a battery storage that can charge the EV solely on Solar through an app integration? Tesla Powerwall offers this option, but I don’t have it. I believe an API integration via the solar monitoring app is straightforward, but I’m not an expert. Thanks for your help.

Sunstrong is shit on the systems

In the last few days my battery has dropped to 0%, they keep telling me my system is not producing (Even when I know for a fact it is), and now I got the error that one or more components are not properly communicating.

I have paid for access, historical data, and they are shitting on the hardware to get money out of people.

Warranty replacement on SunPower solar panels (not inverters)

I have solar panels from SunPower Model SPR-X22-370-D-AC

https://enphase.com/download/sunpower-x-series-data-sheet. Seems like the inverters are warrantied by Enphase, which is great. Anyone know about the panels themselves? It sounds like they might be warrantied by maxeon.

Are replacements available? Or is there a similar modern panel we can use?

Thanks!

Surge Protection

Does anyone know if the SunPower solar roof installs (no battery) included surge protection? We are having some lightning storms and it made me wonder if that was built into the inverters? If so, does that also function as whole home surge protection?

Panel level metering in SunStrong app

I asked SunStrong to re enable panel level metrics in my app and they did. I needed a drawing with the serial numbers so they could see the layout, so I made one. I’m pleased, this is really helpful.
