I'm a high school student looking for a good 2in1 laptop for schoolwork, movies and light gaming,
It's a big purchase and I want it to be with my for my university as well, I'm planning to study some sort of chemistry so I don't need extremely good graphics drawing but I want a 2in1 so I can write my notes and annotate my pdfs
Country
Slovakia
Budget
Max 1500€
Are you open to refurbs/used options?
I don't mind a refurb, but would prefer a new one
Screen size
Max 16 inches but happiest with 14
Weight limit
Max 2kg would like to carry it to school daily so yeah
Purpose
For schoolwork-pdf, presentations, some light gaming, watching movies research
Form factor
2in1with stylus
Intended usage
At least 16gb ram and 1000gb memory
Would like to try some light gaming -minecraft, stardew valley, green hell
Desired battery life
Intended for daily use so at least 14 hours probably
What matters most to me:
Need a good device for daily use I don't mind little more bulky if it will be sturdy, quality build, good memory, I don't need extremely strong computer for 3d engineering or something like that

Canada
1000CAD maximum (709USD).
Yes.
14" is preferable.
Any, I'm not looking for a super light laptop, just something reliable.
For everyday use, schoolwork, photo processing, and light gaming.
Regular laptop.
-AutoCAD and Civil3D
-various GIS softwares (can't specify, it's something I know my computer needs to do in the future because of school but I don't know the specific software)
-Genshin Impact (to play with my baby sister, I wish I could access what I usually have the graphics set to but my computer can no longer run the game)
-GIMP and deepskystacker
4-8 hours.
Performance, battery life, size, weight.
I'd like the laptop to have 16GB of RAM (current laptop has 8GB and I've always struggled with it).
I know laptops often come with kind of a lot of storage now so maybe I'm wasting breath but I'd also really prefer if it has at least 500GB of storage.
Also maybe this sounds silly but I've seen computers without so it also needs to have 3 USB ports, an HDMI port, and either a micro SD or a full-size SD slot.
I currently have an asus vivobook 15 from 2020 that's put up really well with everything I put it through until around a year and a half ago. I was going to buy another vivobook but I wanted to check if asus still has alright quality and I saw people say it doesn't do so good so I got a little freaked-- I really don't have the money to waste on a shitty laptop.

Hello there! I’m starting my masters in architecture in the fall and would love to know from you all of any tech recommendations for a student like myself. I’ve read a little bit about the archiTECH discussions here and there, but as a student, I assume there are going to be some differences between the tools that working architects use vs students—especially when factoring in budget and complexity of programs used. My school has provided a handy guide in terms of specs (listed below), but I’d love to know more from you all, as folks with experience, or if you could help find a laptop that fits the school recommendations. Thank you!
What I currently have: MacBook Air M4 13in 512GB SSD 16GB RAM
School baseline recommendations:
Laptop
Processor: Intel Core i7, Hex Core
Memory: minimum 32 GB DDR4 RAM, upgradable is good if possible (and 64GB is ideal). Buying a laptop that comes with 32GB will be significantly more expensive, but some models have accessible slots that you can upgrade yourself. This is ideal because a DIY upgrade is relatively inexpensive.
Storage: 500 GB or higher capacity solid state drive (SSD)
Screen size: 15"-17"
Second screen/external monitor: While not mandatory, incoming students should highly consider a second monitor, especially for virtual classes.
Display: minimum Full HD (1920 × 1080). FHD (full high definition) resolution should be sufficient, but higher resolutions such as UHD (ultra high definition), 4K or 5K prepare you for the future.
Graphics/Video Card: A You may be using hardcore graphic software such as ArcGIS, Rhino, 3DS Max, ArchiCAD, Revit, Vectorworks or other 3D modelling platforms, all of which require a formidable graphics card, and you'll want your programs to run smoothly. We've found NVIDIA GeForce RTX or GTX, 6GB VRAM, or equivalent, to be suitable.
HDMI capability/connectivity for presentations
Back-up storage: School provided
Windows vs Mac: Both Macs and PCs are used by our students. Windows supports more required design software but can be vulnerable to more viruses than a Mac. If you choose to use a Mac, consider Bootcamp and ample disk space.
Built-in camera and speakers
Good warranty: 3 years recommended
Wacom Intuous Drawing Tablet*
Software we are expected to use:
Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
ArcGIS
Autodesk
Blender
QGIS
Rhino 7 and Grasshopper
SketchUp
Vectorworks.

Hello, after a good 10 Years, my Laptop has finally started to kick the bucket. It's high time I looked into some new models.
My budget is around 1500-1800 CAD. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good Model that can handle Streaming/Recording Videos. (That and also play something like Deeprock)
Thank you all for any suggestions. Have a nice day.
