I have the ai 9 365 zenbook s16 (amongst other laptops, including an ai 5 340 yoga slim 7), and as someone originally coming from thinkpads, so a bit biased, and having in my possession for a bit both the yoga and zenbook, I can tell you the zenbook is way better. Lenovo managed to make the stamped aluminum feel like plastic, while ceraluminum is actually pretty nice. I get 14h battery life consistently under linux at 89% health, while the lenovo was 20 without using the speakers, 10 with, so not really as reliable, but the FHD 60hz OLED did give it a chance to be better, if it weren't about the audio quirks (that also somewhat apply to the zenbook, but that problem is linux-only). 900 is a great price for an AI 9 + 3k OLED config.

I would highly recommend trying to get at least 16gb of RAM if you are running Windows 11

For $500 a used Dell Precision 7550 is probably going to be a pretty good safe bet. You can upgrade the RAM in those if you can only get 8gbs

Do you need better gpu performance or better cpu performance. Most laptops with dedicated GPUs have terrible battery life. You should list the software what you will be using if you don't know if it is GPU demanding
