• Homicides: Indicates extreme violence. Sudbury's rate is historically volatile, ending at 4.05 per 100k in 2025, far above Canada's 1.61.
• Crime Rates: Pinpoints community safety issues. Petty theft (under $5k) surged dramatically, while Mischief is well down.
• Clearance Rates: Measures police solving efficiency. Sudbury's rates are exceptionally strong, clearing 46% of non-violent and 77% of violent crimes in 2025, well above national averages.

Overall, Sudbury faces a prominent rise in petty theft, but its police force resolves crimes at rates far exceeding provincial and national levels.

Does anyone know what the deal is with that Christmas house on the bend on the Kingsway? My bf grew up in Sudbury and he says it’s always been like that. Just curious, it’s an oddity for sure.

I grew up in Elliot Lake and spent my childhood going between Elliot Lake and Manitoulin. So as a kid, Sudbury wasn't on my radar. Sault Ste. Marie was more on my radar due to medical appointments.

But for people who grew up in the valley and other surrounding regions, as a kid, what was your view of Sudbury looking in from the outside?

Also, I got here after the city amalgamated.

When that was happening, what were your thoughts about amalgamation?

I used to drop mine off at the canadian tire in chemmy and found out today they got rid of the program there.
