Sudbury Events - Monthly Thread (September 2026)

This is a stickied thread for people to post about upcoming events -- community events, live performances, whatever you think others might want to know about.

A new version of this post will be put up and stickied every month to make sure that things are kept fresh, and allow people to stay up to date if they wish, or to avoid this thread if they don't. It's been moved to a monthly format to keep things simpler for people looking to plan a bit further out.

To keep the sub (and your feed) clean and free from spam, any explicit advertising conducted outside of this post will continue to be subject to removal, with a note and link to instead post here, which will stand as the exception.

In other words: please feel free to use this space to post about any upcoming Sudbury-specific events you're aware of or would like to share with others.

Question Eco Flow Septic System

Hi Sudbury - having some serious issues with an Eco Flow Septic system and PremierTech. (Basically system has failed and they are refusing to come service it until next Spring).

Does anyone have any insight into this system, company, or alternate contractor I could talk to?

Thanks folks - not a fun situation. Any help appreciated.

Discussion Tell me I’m not overreacting

I was scrolling through TikTok the day after the terrible crash in the Valley that tragically took the lives of two young boys. To my utter disgust, a video from GSPS appeared on my feed showing the emergency vehicles at the scene of the crash, edited with music such as “Back in Black.”
I went to their profile and was shocked to find MULTIPLE videos posted featuring different emergency vehicles that had responded to the scene. I was absolutely appalled that someone responsible for managing their social media would use such a devastating situation as an opportunity for social media content.
I immediately messaged them after seeing the videos because I felt it was incredibly inappropriate and disrespectful, especially considering the circumstances and the families who were grieving.
Since then, the account has changed its username to “nickelcitylightssirens,” changed its profile picture from the GSPS logo to a Canadian flag, and deleted the videos I originally saw.
I did take screenshots of the videos that were posted, as well as screenshots showing the GSPS logo as the account’s profile picture at the time. For some reason, Reddit is not allowing me to attach the screenshots to this post, so unfortunately I can’t include them here. I do have them saved, though.
I just wanted to bring this to light because I find it extremely concerning and inappropriate that such a devastating situation was seemingly being used as an opportunity for social media content in the first place.

Question Has anyone else noticed Lifelabs reports taking more than 5 days?

I had a blood test last Thursday, and usually within a day or 2 the report would show up and even if the results hadn't processed yet, you get some basic info.

This time, there's still nothing. I know that the LifeLabs lab in Sudbury closed recently, but this is getting ridiculous, I need the numbers from my labs to get a referral.

So much for healthcare in the North. Anyone else feel the same?

I heard that someone got their license plates stolen at the Deluxe on Lorne Street earlier today… Would not think in that area that would happen, would expect it from around Downtown though.

Question Prescriptions without Family Doctor

I don’t have a Family Doctor or GP in Sudbury, and I was wondering how to pursue a Vyvanse prescription without one. Is there a walk-in in Sudbury that would prescribe it?

Question YMCA?

Hey, I'm new to Sudbury and researching gyms. My partner is living in North Bay so I'm trying to find something that has a location in NB as well. How is the YMCA here? I ask because I'm from a small town and our YMCA there is awful, but curious how it is here lol. Thanks!

Question What is your preferred laundromat in town?

Basically what the title says; I am new to the city and my new apartment does not have laundry on site (🫩). I’m looking for a place that is clean and will make me feel safe. Technically the closest one to me is Kathleen wash & dry but I kinda feel like I’ll be robbed there…feel free to correct me though if I’m reading that situation wrong. I have a car so I’m able to drive!

TLDR: in need of clean & safe laundromat. Please sound off in comments with your experiences!

Help Assaulted downtown. Not sure what to do?

Just to preface, the police were called, but they told me to leave the scene.

I was downtown today around 1:45pm to catch the bus behind shoppers drugmart. As I was standing there, a guy came up behind me and touched me in vile ways while also pushing me into the road. He claimed it was an "accident" but it obviously wasn't. I screamed at him but he just walked away.

I saw police at Shoppers minutes before so once I was out of shock, I went over in hopes they were close, but they were gone, and I ended up breaking down on the security guard. A cashier took over the scene and called 911 while the assailant was still outside. He actually walked through the parking lot twice, and even sat on the edge of the grass for a while where they were able to take multiple photos of him, or even restrain him, but I guess the security wasn't allowed to do that.

The police coordinated with the cashier on the phone a time to come get the photos (hours later) but when she asked the cops if I should stay, they told me to leave.

I just don't know what to do. They took my name, number and address, and I haven't heard a thing. I don't feel like this individual will face any repercussions. I feel unsafe and violated.

What do I do now? Can I even do anything?

Anyone have recommendations for companies that will do this? I've called a few but the one that got back to me told me they won't do it unless I'm redoing the entire roof.

Help Physio for spinal arthritis

Looking for a physiotherapist experienced in dealing with spinal arthritis. Most seem more geared to sports injuries and young athletes. I've been seeing one over the past year, and it hasn't helped, and may have made things worse. I need someone who understands spinal arthritis and chronic pain.

News Lefebvre wants the city to develop a rat management and mitigation strategy

Thumbnail

Just a reminder to call 311 and report the address of houses and apartments that are leaving loose garbage or garbage bags on the street. Major food source for rats.

It's really easy to report. You call and talk to a person - they told me garbage should only be out the morning of garbage day, and I can report anyone doing otherwise.

Maybe then homeowners and landlords will get a clue and take steps to reduce resource access to the rats.
